Titans

The most powerful beings in this world, some people even revered them as gods. They are at the very top of the food chain and no amount of lower creatures can kill them. Their power is already in the realm of gods. They can destroy a country within seconds, ability to freeze a desert and they can even cover the sky with darkness.

With their absolute power they now rule their own territories and even humans will have to bow down to their might.

But what are Titans exactly?

The main story line only touched on this topic but didn’t fully discuss these might beings.

However, the author provides the fans with ‘additional content’.

Titans: Legends and Titans: Origin.

Titan are monsters. Period.

They are monsters that break their limit and traverse to the unknown.

However, not all monsters are equal.

There are only three types of monsters that may reach the level of Titans.

The Dragons.

Lizard type creatures that are equipped with strong claws, nearly indestructible armors and blessed by nature itself. Arrogant and battle loving creature that any humans should avoid at all cost.

The dragons are one of the creatures that can easily adapt to any situation that is why they are so strong.

However, not all dragons are equal.

These creatures weigh their existence by their age. The longer you live and the more battles you fight, the more experience you will have. The more powerful you will become.

And on the top of them all is The Dragon Lord. It is one of the Titan that still exists up to this date. He owned the Dragon Valley, a small continent on the north east side of the map.

The Golems

Golems are essentially a ‘core’. They absorb materials and make it their own. They are highly intelligent creatures that can adapt to their environment. They are very powerful and very dangerous monsters that are scattered all over the world. Compared to the dragon’s battle loving characteristics these creatures prefer to live in peace.

However, be prepared once you disturb their sleep.

The most delicate of them all is also known to be the most powerful.

Forge. is a moving island size golem that will attack anyone that comes into range. This Titan lives freely in the ocean area and sailors should be wary in traveling and encountering it.

Lastly, The Polymorph.

Most of the Titan belong to this race.

A creature that can freely change its form as it grows. It can evolve based on what it consumes and what it learns. There is no specific form for this monster that is why there is no research made about them. How can you make research on something that can only be heard in stories?

In truth, Polymorph are very rare but they can exist anywhere. They can be your normal goblin, a small fish in the pond or even your own dog.

However, a question exists, if Polymorph monsters can become Titan. Why are there so few Titans in the world? 

That is because of the main characteristic of the Polymorph. They will adapt the characteristics of the creature they are born in and they will struggle to break that mold.

Pang!

Lock!

I lock the door.

Put the things on my table.

“Phew!”

“I’m so tired…”

Pang!

I lie down in my bed.

I take a deep breath then sit back up.

I just came back from the mountains and I immediately went to the adventurer guild. I look at the quest board to see if the quest has been created but luckily they haven’t put it up yet.

I smile after realizing I’m not late for ‘that’ quest.

After that, I went straight to the pet store. The pet store in Slothub sells different types of monsters from domesticated monsters such as horse and dogs, by the way the term ‘animals’ only refers to ‘domesticated’ monsters, to wild monsters such as Gray Wolves. Some stores even sell exotic monsters.

Of course those people who buy these pets are not Tamers but rich people who just wanted to have a live monster in their collection or backyard.

To ensure the safety of the rich people, these monsters are equipped with a slave collar, same slave collar attach to the humans you can found on slave shops.

Slave collar will ensure that the ‘slave’ will not be able to hurt its ‘owner’ and it will follow its owner’s instruction. But the latter will only take effect when the ‘slave’ understand the instruction.

If you order the dog to cook food. Of course, the dog did not understand its owner's instructions and the ‘punishment’ will not be triggered.

The reason I came to this pet store is to buy a ‘collar’, not a ‘slave collar’ but an ordinary collar for my new pets. These will act as a ‘slave collar’ so the people in the city will not be alarmed when they see the vipers.

In addition, I also bought 2 units of incubator and a couple of magic crystals to power up those incubators.

I pick up the cylindrical item in front of me.

I look like a container of jelly ace back on earth. It is made of glass but the upper and lower cover is made out of wood. There are magic circles written on the bottom top cover and top bottom cover, and finally there is a magic crystal holder above the top cover.

I set up both incubators on the side of the bed. Open up both its cover and slowly put the eggs inside each container. Then I close the lid and put the magic crystal on the holder. The magic circles started to shine red and the incubator started to get warm.

“This will take a few days.”

Sigh.

I lie down back in my bed.

“Hahaha!”

I feel very happy.

Very very happy.

“To survive, I need money… sure… but that is not enough… (chuckled) what I need the most is power.”

I close my fist and I feel accomplished right now.

Then I bring up my hands in front of my face.

(My pets will be my source of power, my shield and my weapon but… just like on earth… Safety first!)

(I need those so-called PPE (Personal Protective Equipment), my last defense in case my pets failed to protect me.)

Cole is a mercenary.

“But Cole doesn’t have any talent in unleashing his Aura… but that is not the problem, it will be pretty easy for me to unleash his aura because I know the whole process of unleashing it. Starting from the cheat type process to the natural type process. However…”

“Aura users will emit energy that every Aura user can easily recognize and that would attract too much attention.”

“I guess it’s not all a waste after all.”

I tap my bag which contains the notebooks.

“After alchemy, I could also try the magical tools, I can just order them if I have money… but if I want my own customized magical tools I have to create them on my own.”

“This will require a lot of practice but… I will have a lot of time after I finish this mission.”

“Aside from that, magic tools cost a lot… Sigh.”

Then I pick up a specific notebook with a title ‘Artifacts’, written in a special code I created.

“The list of artifacts and legends are in here.”

“Of course, that doesn’t mean I knew all the artifacts location, the story line and even the additional content are just a tiny part of this world.”

(Exactly! The book only shows a tiny part of this world.)

I suddenly remember the discussion between the slaver mercenaries.

“Even though it is not confirmed yet, the possibility of existing Essence that was not discussed in the book is really high.”

“I could also assume that it will be the same towards the condition of the world. I have zero information about the places that don't involve the main character.”

“And if I’m correct… the blip of weird information that appears in the main story from time to time will happen in this world.”

I scratch my head.

“Tsk… those are the parts that I really didn’t focus on.”

“Arghh!”

I scratch my head once again.

“There are too many things to think of… Sigh…”

I surrender.

I open my arms in the bed.

“I should just focus on the current mission.”

While waiting for the ‘quest’ to arrive, I focus on building a plan to increase ‘my power’.

I thought of different things.

The first category is totally ‘not’ involving myself in the fight. This will ensure my safety altogether. So getting more pets, hiring some mercenary and getting a slave are part of the option.

I also believe that I should focus on this category. It is always better to use other people in fighting than letting my own body do the fight. The reason is simple, Cole is just an average guy. Why would I spend a lot of effort to become something that I am not?

One example is the earlier event, where I judged that if I fought the four slavers earlier I would die after I cut down one of them. I am considered lucky if I even kill one of them.

So letting others do the fighting is the best option I have.

This is the reason why I prioritize acquiring those kids.

However, there is still a limitation in this category. I realize that I only need to acquire a pet or a slave, which are equip with a ‘slave collar’. I don’t want to constantly look at my back. That would be pretty annoying if I want to live a comfortable and carefree life.

In addition, Mercenaries can easily ‘betray’ me for a price, so I immediately remove them from the list after realizing this.

Yet, whatever I choose between monster or slave, there is a major concern in increasing my ‘servants’.

The food cost will also increase.

So even if I wanted to push this through I cannot do it for the time being.

The second category is getting the best equipment.

Artifacts will be the best items to acquire, because these items can turn the tide of battle if they are used, so having them in my arsenal is a must have.

Alchemy and Magic Tools are also a great option however, they cost money which I currently don’t have.

The third and final category is training.

This one will take a lot of time and with Cole’s talent I doubt I will improve. To be honest, Cole is not an easy go lucky guy, he trains every day and he has good discipline but he clearly lacks talent. If Cole doesn’t have talent what more an office guy like Jon can do.

After realizing my plan in building up ‘my power’.

I did the following.

I constantly look at the market for any opportunity I could get.

I scan the market for a low cost but strong slave.

(Even though it’s against earth’s morality, I didn’t care, the important thing is my survival. Besides, the earth is not that ‘clean’ when you think about it.)

(Corporations will make policies that will make it harder for normal workers to earn money. At the same time, most of the leaders of this corporation will take advantage of their employees.)

(The so-called ‘Performance Review’ is an invisible shackle installed on the neck of every employee. If you don’t follow their instructions, you will lose your job, simple as that. It’s a corporate way in turning every employee into a slave.)

In addition to looking for slave I also keep my eye out for cheap ingredients or magic tools.

And finally, something that I could do without any cost. I kept training my body, even if Cole doesn’t have any potential in sword or magic, increasing my stamina and my strength is a must.

Just after two days, the ‘quest’ appears in the adventurer guild and Ellie returns from her quest.
