The new day started as Lucas woke up and started to train in his magic as he stayed in his room and kept a watch on the borders of the kingdom to make sure that his subordinates are fine and was glad to see that they were keeping watch over the border. Though he is dissatisfied about the fact that he wasn't able to look at the enemy kingdom and understand what was happening.

Falkor is also in the garden and is working as a guard to ensure that they are safe. Since he has very sharp senses, he would be able to know when danger is afoot, which will allow him and his family to be ready.

He doesn't know who has shot that attack but he knows that they are strong for being able to do that. But he also didn't know if that was the best they could do or if they have more tricks up their sleeve.

There were more questions than answers, which frustrated him as he didn't know what to do in such a situation, other than creating plans based on what he knows and can hypothesize as he just wanted to have the knowledge he needed to prepare himself.

He had warned the royal family about it, so he hoped that they would also prepare their own troops to ensure that they were ready. He wondered if the other noble families had been notified about the situation, otherwise they would panic when the situation escalates.

"I can think about it later, but now I have to do this." Lucas said to himself as he went to the secret room.

He knew that he needed every advantage he could get, which is why he had spent the better part of his time studying the spells in the various grimoires that he had stored.

This particular book that he has in his hand is one which contains information about various runic inscriptions which can be used to strengthen oneself or items. He is able to inscribe runes on his weapons as he had learned about it, but this time he was more focused on the method of inscribing runes on their own body.

By using this method, the user can strengthen themselves using the runes, however it is a difficult endeavour due to the fact that it is being inscribed on a living being rather than an inanimate thing. Which is why he had only the ones for the warning on him.

Because of this risk he was very hesitant in using more variants of it, even during the war, but now that the situation has reached such a stage, he knew that he would have to be more cautious and stronger if he wanted to survive.

And unlike the runes which have no physical effect on him, which made it relatively safe to use, the runes he was planning on inscribing on himself would be the ones needed for strengthening himself, which directly influenced his body, which meant that if he wants careful, then it could backfire on him.

So he made sure that he was perfectly calm before he started to inscribe the runes on himself as he read the information on the grimoires to be extra sure. He felt the runes took effect after each one was successfully inscribed on his body, and when the complete combination was done, he felt the full effects.

After he was done with the first set, he did some movements with the rune to make sure that it was working properly and that it wouldn't suddenly go haywire and cause damage to himself as well.

"Okay, this is working as I want. Great." Lucas said to himself as he couldn't help but smile at the fact that he was able to inscribe a rune like this on himself without any negative effects.

This emboldened him to inscribe more runes on his body as he made sure that they were fine and correct and was made in correspondence to the grimoire in his hand. He inscribed it on his chest, stomach, shoulders, back, with the last one being the most difficult due to its position.

He still wanted the runes to be a secret, which meant that he had to put them in positions that people weren't able to see. He also inscribed runes on his forearms and legs as he wanted them to be functional and even if they were discovered, he didn't mind it, especially since they were essential limbs that would help him to survive.

He just hoped that all his preparations would be helpful in the coming battle, though he doesn't think that it would be a war since he doesn't believe that the soldiers of Sweden would want to fight after the crushing defeat that they suffered at his hands.

"I can only hope that the situation will be good for us." Lucas said to himself as he closed the book after he was done.

He then looked at the sword that he owned as he started to inscribe runes on it. The runes that he used weren't about to make it as powerful as Aslaug's sword, but he is sure that it will be strong enough to at least make it much more stronger than it normally is.

And in such a situation, he needed every advantage that he can have. He inscribed the runes on the sword as he watched it take effect as he nodded to himself at the successful inscribing before he started to place more runes on it.

After that was done he did the same with another good quality sword he has, as he planned to give it to Kriemhild as he wanted her to have a better weapon to use in times of crisis, as the sword with the runes will be an especially powerful weapon for her to use and will guarantee more safety for her in battle.

She is a good swordsman and is quite useful, and considering how much he has shown her about his strength, he is sure that she won't betray him. While he is fairly certain that she won't, it wouldn't hurt to be suspicious of her as well. But she is a good ally and having her be alive and working for him works much better for him in the long run.

And giving her this sword is also a form of trust as it would show her that he trusts her enough to give her something like a rune inscribed sword, and a sword like this isn't easily made.

This is especially true since he had spent an hour in the space, working on the runes, and inscribing the runes on the sword he planned to give her took 15 minutes, which was much faster than before owing to the fact that he had studied the runes more thoroughly and he was just placing the same runes he had put on his sword.

This act will certainly gain her favor and loyalty and will ensure that she would be more inclined to follow him as well. He hopes that in the future he would be able to trust her more, but at this moment it's best if he were to be cautious.

"And that's done. The swords are done correctly and Aslaug doesn't need one since she has her own divine sword that her parent had left her. The runes I have placed on myself are also functioning properly and aren't showing any abnormalities as well." Lucas said to himself as he looked at the swords and at himself.

After he was sure that the runes were okay he left the room and was glad that no one had come to his room. Even though he had asked to not be disturbed during this time, he didn't want his parents to come in when he is at the space.

But seeing that everything was peaceful and okay, he went to the crystal ball and started to look at it to spy on the border like before. He used his magic to see what is happening at the border at this moment.

But his eyes widened when he saw soldiers rushing out of the border as he jaw dropped at the amount of soldiers who were rushing out of there.

"Oh no." Lucas said in horror when he saw that they were attacking right now.

Olivia couldn't believe what was happening right now. She had entered the throne room, ready to fight against the enemy prince. But right after she had dodged the energy attack from Eric, a smaller attack had hit her, and to her surprise she didn't feel any pain from him, which was confusing for her and concerning. And then before she was able to think about the attack, her body moved forward, her arms curled around the shaft of her spear as she slashed her spear, right towards Lucas. This alarmed her as she wasn't able to stop herself as she felt fear, and then relief when he had parried her attack and pushed her back. But then she saw Master Andvaranaut attack him with his spear as well as he also parried the attack and made the man fall back. And she saw Kriemhild attacking him from behind as he was moving to protect himself, but Aslaug appeared as she met with Kriemhild and pushed her back which gave her more relief. Which was when Olivia saw the yellow glow in her master'

Lucas and his companions stormed the palace as they charged in through the main door and ran as they didn't find any guards there, but they kept running to find the mage and stop this war. They ascended a flight of steps to get to the throne room. But they were met with the sight of more than 100 soldiers who were ready with their weapons as they immediately honed in on the intruders. "Attack!" The commander shouted as the soldiers ran. Arrows and magic flew towards them as Lucas and Aslaug charged forward and sliced the magical attacks while the others followed their lead while dodging the arrows as the enemy soldiers were charging at them at the same time. Olivia wreathed her spear with lightning as she threw it as it sailed through the air and impaled through a line of soldiers and stabbed through the heart of a mage, before it yanked itself out and flew back towards Olivia as she grabbed it as she met the soldiers blades with her alongside the rest. Andvaranaut had noticed ho

Lucas and his group charged through the territory as they passed by civilians and soldiers, the latter of which they dispatched off pretty quickly, as it was quite easy for Lucas to do so with his magic. He also had held from Olivia and Andvaranaut as they also used their spears to shoot lightning at the enemies, the two weapons were given to them by the court mage and they were pretty reliable weapons. Aslaug watched them and frowned as her own sword is unable to do the same thing, which makes her limited in terms of range, which in hindsight would've been useful when she had first fought against Lucas. 'Hmm, I guess that is a limitation I have.' Aslaug thought to herself as she rode the horse as they charged at the castle. Of course, the way to the castle wasn't quite easy as there were soldiers that tried to kill them but they were dispatched off quickly as they made the horses run faster as they felt the wind over their faces and skin as they charged, it was true for Lucas,

  • Chapter 66

Lucas felt his power increase as the runes were becoming more attuned to his body as his own body was getting used to them as well as they were harmonizing as he ran towards the golems and his own brats as the others followed on their foot as they charged at the enemies. Alpha and the rest of the boys also noticed their Lord and the army coming towards them with Lucas at their helm. the guy himself nodded to them as he approached as they smiled at his acknowledgement, but focused back on the battle as they knew that it had more priority at the moment. Lucas charged forward, not about to let this opportunity go by as Aslaug immediately followed after him, being the only one who is equal ground to him, followed by Andvaranaut, Olivia and Kriemhild as they charged. He reached the nearest golem as his sword sang as he slashed it's leg as he passed one of his boys as he slashed off its right arm, grabbed it to have leverage before he plunged the sword into the golems head, got a foot

  • Chapter 65

Lucas couldn't believe his eyes as he saw the golems that were attacking them as he couldn't help but squint his eyes as he saw the things. His irritation growing at how much of a problem this new mage was being to them and how much he wanted to end his life so that he doesn't have to deal with all these things. By now the rest of his group had also spotted the golems as many of the soldiers paled at the sight while Andvaranaut, Olivia and Kriemhild were tense as they saw them. Aslaug just frowned as she looked at the golems, her expression hidden by the helmet. Lucas licked his lips as he growled at the sight of the enemy, the image of his wyvern being hurt was etched into his mind as he could vividly recall the sight of his charred chest and damaged wings. He was going to make them pay for what they have done. "Why don't you use your portals to just send them back." Andvaranaut asked him as they had moved back due to the assault. "It still costs me energy to use my magic. I don

  • Chapter 64

The soldiers watched with wide eyes as the portal devoured the attacks from the enemy as they were awed by the sight in front of them as Lucas grit his teeth while the others watched. "Woah." Olivia said in awe at the sight. "Impressive." Andvaranaut said with a nod. "Master Lucas..." Kriemhild said in awe at the giant portal in front of her. The other soldiers who are being protected by him were also awed as they watched the deadly attacks being taken into the portal as he himself is gritting his teeth to ensure that the portal is stable and stays open, otherwise then the soldiers behind him are sure to die, while the more skilled ones would at least be able to dodge the attacks. Aslaug watched the spectacle as she gripped her sword tight as she saw the magic he is using as she watched the powerful attacks being devoured, and she knew that he would also be able to do the same thing to her if he wanted to. Lucas kept his focus as he kept the portal open until the attack wa
