Alpha and his comrades were keeping watch at the border as they had been ordered by Lucas and they hadn't seen anything out of the ordinary in there, just the usual forest and the animals that live, there weren't any disturbances nor any soldiers, though he did feel concerned that they would attack at once, but they would be able to see him, after all they had been trained for reconnaissance and while they aren't as good as their master, they could at least move away before the attack and warm Lucas during the time of attack.

They were scattered around the border, with weapons at the ready in case of an ambush and were a good distance away from the border and hidden so that they will be able to safely kill any small group of soldiers that came out of the kingdom and intruded into their own.

While it was a bit boring, it was safe and it wasn't like there was any danger now so he is quite content with doing this, it also allowed him to enjoy the wildlife as well. It was tranquil and even with the noise of the animals, it was peaceful in the place, but he was cautious and ready to action as well.

He looked at his comrades near him and they were also mostly the same as they kept watch over the border while keeping themselves hidden in the trees expertly, and you wouldn't find them unless you were actively looking for them in the trees as well. They gave each other a nod as they locked eyes as they looked at the border with seriousness as they will fulfill the order of their lord.

He drank some water from his pouch when his senses alerted him to danger, something which they had all developed after being subjected to the training by Lucas, as they felt that danger was close as they all tensed up and ready to fight anyone who appeared.

But they never imagined that an army of soldiers would suddenly appear from the edge of the border and charge into their territory as they all froze. The army didn't come from a distance, but rather just appeared suddenly at the border like they were going through a magical barrier.

'Don't tell me that all this time we were looking at a barrier!?' Alpha thought to himself in shock as he looked at the army rushing into their land like the waters of a stream.

Alpha stayed rooted in his place as did the rest of his group as the soldiers ran with a roar and passed under them, oblivious to the fact that they were on the tree as he and the rest of his brothers in arms were making sure to not make any sort of noise that would attract the attention of the army.

They were strong no doubt, but against an army of such sheer size they would be overwhelmed and if they were lucky, they would be able to escape with wounds. But the likelihood of them being killed by the sheer numbers and the rest of the people in the army was much greater, so they didn't want to take a risk regarding that fact.

Alpha watched as swordsmen, archers, mages and all other groups of soldiers rushed through the forest with fervor as they were focused on their goal of attacking their enemy and the anger he had seen in their eyes as they passed caused him to understand that they weren't going to stop even with the threat of death.

The people of both lands placed high honour on combat and war, and he came to the conclusion that these soldiers might have wanted to reclaim their lost honour from the last battle and to also get revenge for the humiliation that they got in the war.

But of course, such a sudden attack was also quite unusual for them and while the tactic was sound, they wouldn't have used it and would've wanted a war with the other side ready, as this is a lesser honourable way of battle.

He doesn't understand why they would want to battle so quickly after the last one, especially since they had seen what Lucas can do, but he could only speculate about it as he watched the soldiers with dread as he didn't have the strength to stop them and could only stay hidden where he is so as to not get attacked and killed.

He was of no use to his lord dead, so he and the rest of his comrades stayed in place as the vast army finally ended as he and the rest looked back and saw them rushing towards their home.

Alpha jumped down after making sure that there weren't any enemies before he was joined by his brothers as they grouped together, and he could see their fear and distress in their eyes as they were also nervous as they glanced at the way the army went and also at themselves.

"What do we do? There were a lot of them?" Eta said as he looked at the direction of the army with a grave expression.

"We just have to hope that Lord Lucas and the royal mage had already learned about it using their magic. Even if we try to follow them, we don't want to gain the attention of the army, lest we be killed or captured by them." Alpha said to them seriously as he gripped the handle of his sword.

"But we can't just stay here. We need to get to Lord Lucas as soon as we can." Delta said worried for his lord.

"Even if we did try to get there, the chance of us being attacked and killed by the army is high. We are not as strong as Lord Lucas is, so there is a high chance that we will be killed by the enemy. We can't risk that." Beta said seriously as he frowned at the boy.

"Whatever the case, we need to get back, and the safe way to do so would be good around instead of going straight to the kingdom. That way we will be able to get there safely, even if it will take more time. And even if we are a bit late, we can join the battle much easily due to the chaos that is created." Alpha said in an authoritative tone.

The others nodded as they understood the logic in his words as they knew that while it was more time consuming, it was a much safer method to reach the kingdom and with the chaos that will undoubtedly be created due to the battle, they would be able to join the frey without others noticing them too much, nor will they have the chance to question then during war.

'Lord Lucas, we will do what we can to help you. I know that you're strong, but please be careful. And please protect the ones in your orphanage.' Alpha thought to himself as he wished that his lord and the children in the orphanage were safe despite the threat of the enemy.

Lucas charged forward, not about to let this opportunity go by as Aslaug immediately followed after him, being the only one who is equal ground to him, followed by Andvaranaut, Olivia and Kriemhild as they charged. His irritation growing at how much of a problem this new mage was being to them and how much he wanted to end his life so that he doesn't have to deal with all these things. By now the rest of his group had also spotted the golems as many of the soldiers paled at the sight while Andvaranaut, Olivia and Kriemhild were tense as they saw them. Aslaug just frowned as she looked at the golems, her expression hidden by the helmet. Lucas licked his lips as he growled at the sight of the enemy, the image of his wyvern being hurt was etched into his mind as he could vividly recall the sight of his charred chest and damaged wings. He was going to make them pay for what they have done. "Why don't you use your portals to just send them back." Andvaranaut asked him as they had moved back due to the assault. "It still costs me energy to use my magic. I don

The soldiers watched with wide eyes as the portal devoured the attacks from the enemy as they were awed by the sight in front of them as Lucas grit his teeth while the others watched. "Woah." Olivia said in awe at the sight. "Impressive." Andvaranaut said with a nod. "Master Lucas..." Kriemhild said in awe at the giant portal in front of her. The other soldiers who are being protected by him were also awed as they watched the deadly attacks being taken into the portal as he himself is gritting his teeth to ensure that the portal is stable and stays open, otherwise then the soldiers behind him are sure to die, while the more skilled ones would at least be able to dodge the attacks. Aslaug watched the spectacle as she gripped her sword tight as she saw the magic he is using as she watched the powerful attacks being devoured, and she knew that he would also be able to do the same thing to her if he wanted to. Lucas kept his focus as he kept the portal open until the attack wa

Olivia jumped from her horse as her spear channeled lightning through its tip as she threw the weapon towards the soldiers. It impaled clean through three of them as she landed on the ground and she charged forwards as she was attacked by the archers and mages. She narrowly dodged the attacks as she saw the impaled soldiers raising their weapons which surprised her as the one in the front is wielding a sword, the second and third are mages as she was impressed by their tenacity to keep going. But she focused once more as she unsheathed her sword as she sliced off the arm of the one in front as she pulled out her spear as the blood splashed on the ground as she glared at the soldiers as her spear's blade

Lucas used a healing spell on himself as he growled at the sight of the enemies and he dashed forward, his mind now even sharper due to the attack as he ran towards the enemies with full speed. Falkor roared overhead as he glanced at his wyvern who was flying through the air and dodging the spells from the mages. 'I should kill the lot of them quickly before they become a problem. The strange magical attack, it would be problematic for me if I had to fight these bastards with another sniping me. If my focus isn't correct then I will die.' Lucas thought to himself as he ran to his enemies. He increased his speed as he ran towards the enemies as the soldiers shot their arrows and the mages attacked him as well. Three soldiers wielding swords charged at the heir which confused the latter. 'Where these three here before?' Lucas thought to himself in confusion as he looked at the charging enemies. He was pretty sure that he had taken care of all the melee soldiers and now three sol

Lucas blinked his eyes as he coughed a bit as he stood up from the wreckage of the broken trees as he took a second to process what had happened to him as he grabbed his sword. 'What just happened?' Lucas thought to himself as he recalled what had happened. He had thrown a corpse at the incoming fireballs and managed to protect himself as Falkor also helped with his own fire breath. Kriemhild himself was shocked at the attack before she was thrown away by Lucas as he saw the soldiers coming towards him as he saw her landing on the ground. After he was sure that he was safe he blocked a sword and punched the chest of the soldier as he was launched back before he ducked as a mace passed over where his head back before he kicked the man and launched him back as he quickly turned and lunged forward and stabbed the soldier in the neck.
