Alpha and his comrades were keeping watch at the border as they had been ordered by Lucas and they hadn't seen anything out of the ordinary in there, just the usual forest and the animals that live, there weren't any disturbances nor any soldiers, though he did feel concerned that they would attack at once, but they would be able to see him, after all they had been trained for reconnaissance and while they aren't as good as their master, they could at least move away before the attack and warm Lucas during the time of attack.
They were scattered around the border, with weapons at the ready in case of an ambush and were a good distance away from the border and hidden so that they will be able to safely kill any small group of soldiers that came out of the kingdom and intruded into their own. While it was a bit boring, it was safe and it wasn't like there was any danger now so he is quite content with doing this, it also allowed him to enjoy the wildlife as well. It was tranquil and even with the noise of the animals, it was peaceful in the place, but he was cautious and ready to action as well. He looked at his comrades near him and they were also mostly the same as they kept watch over the border while keeping themselves hidden in the trees expertly, and you wouldn't find them unless you were actively looking for them in the trees as well. They gave each other a nod as they locked eyes as they looked at the border with seriousness as they will fulfill the order of their lord. He drank some water from his pouch when his senses alerted him to danger, something which they had all developed after being subjected to the training by Lucas, as they felt that danger was close as they all tensed up and ready to fight anyone who appeared. But they never imagined that an army of soldiers would suddenly appear from the edge of the border and charge into their territory as they all froze. The army didn't come from a distance, but rather just appeared suddenly at the border like they were going through a magical barrier. 'Don't tell me that all this time we were looking at a barrier!?' Alpha thought to himself in shock as he looked at the army rushing into their land like the waters of a stream. Alpha stayed rooted in his place as did the rest of his group as the soldiers ran with a roar and passed under them, oblivious to the fact that they were on the tree as he and the rest of his brothers in arms were making sure to not make any sort of noise that would attract the attention of the army. They were strong no doubt, but against an army of such sheer size they would be overwhelmed and if they were lucky, they would be able to escape with wounds. But the likelihood of them being killed by the sheer numbers and the rest of the people in the army was much greater, so they didn't want to take a risk regarding that fact. Alpha watched as swordsmen, archers, mages and all other groups of soldiers rushed through the forest with fervor as they were focused on their goal of attacking their enemy and the anger he had seen in their eyes as they passed caused him to understand that they weren't going to stop even with the threat of death. The people of both lands placed high honour on combat and war, and he came to the conclusion that these soldiers might have wanted to reclaim their lost honour from the last battle and to also get revenge for the humiliation that they got in the war. But of course, such a sudden attack was also quite unusual for them and while the tactic was sound, they wouldn't have used it and would've wanted a war with the other side ready, as this is a lesser honourable way of battle. He doesn't understand why they would want to battle so quickly after the last one, especially since they had seen what Lucas can do, but he could only speculate about it as he watched the soldiers with dread as he didn't have the strength to stop them and could only stay hidden where he is so as to not get attacked and killed. He was of no use to his lord dead, so he and the rest of his comrades stayed in place as the vast army finally ended as he and the rest looked back and saw them rushing towards their home. Alpha jumped down after making sure that there weren't any enemies before he was joined by his brothers as they grouped together, and he could see their fear and distress in their eyes as they were also nervous as they glanced at the way the army went and also at themselves. "What do we do? There were a lot of them?" Eta said as he looked at the direction of the army with a grave expression. "We just have to hope that Lord Lucas and the royal mage had already learned about it using their magic. Even if we try to follow them, we don't want to gain the attention of the army, lest we be killed or captured by them." Alpha said to them seriously as he gripped the handle of his sword. "But we can't just stay here. We need to get to Lord Lucas as soon as we can." Delta said worried for his lord. "Even if we did try to get there, the chance of us being attacked and killed by the army is high. We are not as strong as Lord Lucas is, so there is a high chance that we will be killed by the enemy. We can't risk that." Beta said seriously as he frowned at the boy. "Whatever the case, we need to get back, and the safe way to do so would be good around instead of going straight to the kingdom. That way we will be able to get there safely, even if it will take more time. And even if we are a bit late, we can join the battle much easily due to the chaos that is created." Alpha said in an authoritative tone. The others nodded as they understood the logic in his words as they knew that while it was more time consuming, it was a much safer method to reach the kingdom and with the chaos that will undoubtedly be created due to the battle, they would be able to join the frey without others noticing them too much, nor will they have the chance to question then during war. 'Lord Lucas, we will do what we can to help you. I know that you're strong, but please be careful. And please protect the ones in your orphanage.' Alpha thought to himself as he wished that his lord and the children in the orphanage were safe despite the threat of the enemy.

Lucas quickly put on his armor and grabbed his sword as he dashed out of his room, startling the servants near his room as they looked at him in shock as he quickly went down the stairs, his armor making noise which caught the attention of his parents as they came out of a room to find him in armor. "Son?" Leif called out in confusion alongside his wife. "The enemy soldiers are attacking!" Lucas shouted as he dashed without stopping as his words caused the eyes of his parents to widen alongside the servants. "What!?" All of them shouted in shock at his sudden declaration. But Lucas didn't wait for a response as he threw open the doors of the entrance as be spotted Falkor who was currently chilling on the ground, though he did sense his Master and looked at him. "Get ready to fly!" Lucas shouted as the Wyvern's eyes narrowed in response as it let out a light roar. Falkor raised his wings as he raised his body up using his legs as Lucas jumped onto his back as he steadied him

Chapter 56
The new day started as Lucas woke up and started to train in his magic as he stayed in his room and kept a watch on the borders of the kingdom to make sure that his subordinates are fine and was glad to see that they were keeping watch over the border. Though he is dissatisfied about the fact that he wasn't able to look at the enemy kingdom and understand what was happening. Falkor is also in the garden and is working as a guard to ensure that they are safe. Since he has very sharp senses, he would be able to know when danger is afoot, which will allow him and his family to be ready. He doesn't know who has shot that attack but he knows that they are strong for being able to do that. But he also didn't know if that was the best they could do or if they have more tricks up their sleeve. There were more questions than answers, which frustrated him as he didn't know what to do in such a situation, other than creating plans based on what he knows and can hypothesize as he just wante
Chapter 55
The moment Lucas returned to his home he told his parents about the danger and asked them to be prepared just in case and to not tell about it to anyone until something happened. They were confused at the sudden words of their son but they trusted him as he went to his room and to the secret room where he started to go through the grimoires he has as he looked at the spells in the book as he narrowed his eyes. 'That attack would've finished me if it had hit and the more problematic thing is that I don't even know if that mage is able to do more or not. What if he was only testing me? I don't have any information to draw any conclusions on this.' Lucas thought to himself as he frowned at the lack of information. He hoped that his boys were cautious, though he had given them training and taught them to be always cautious, they were still only human and they might relax while out on the patrol. 'It would be ideal to have Aslaug with me as she would be able to warn me about it and
Chapter 54
Lucas has wanted to return to his own territory after telling the royals about the warning, but Olivia wanted to talk with him after that so he decided to forego that plan for the moment as he has to follow the wishes of the princess above all as a member of the nobility after all. "Why did you wish to talk with me princess?" Lucas asked her respectfully. "I was curious about your plan to combat this new threat. I'm sure that you would've already come up with a plan of action after learning about the danger." Olivia said as she looked at him. "Yes, I suppose you are right. Though it isn't a real plan as much as it is just something that I came up with on the spot." Lucas said as he shook his head from side to side. "I see. I guess you want to go back and get your territory ready?" Olivia said as she smiled at him. "Yes, I still haven't told my parents about it yet since I wanted to inform you immediately." Lucas said to her seriously. "Then I shall not delay you any further, as
Chapter 53
Lucas said in the room as he waited for the princess to come back as he ate some of the snacks there as he waited patiently. It was only after a few minutes did the princess return to the room as she smiled at him. "Please follow me, my father and mother wish to speak with you." Olivia said to him as he nodded and stood up. He followed her out of the room as they went towards the throne room. As they walked Olivia was slightly slower than him as she looked at him walk as she wanted to see him more as her interest in him was already high after all that she had been able to see about him. They soon reached the throne room as the soldiers opened the door and they entered. Lucas stood a few feet away from the king and queen who were sitting on their respective thrones. Olivia went forward and sat on her own throne as Lucas saw that only the royal guards and the court mage were present with them. "You majesties." Lucas said respectfully as he gave them a bow. "Raise your head Luca
Chapter 52
Lucas sat on the back of Falkor as he made his way to the royal castle, it would've taken more time but he knew the importance of this so he made his wyvern fly quickly. Most of the people had already seen his wyvern and since there weren't any others in sight, they wouldn't attack him. But he didn't want to raise the alarm so he made sure that they were flying near the ground to make the guards know that he is coming. And as he had hoped they didn't attack him, as most of the guards had recognised his wyvern as even if not all of the guards had come to fight in the war, there were still those who recognised him and his ride. They reached the gates and Falkor landed carefully as he scratched his neck as the wyvern growled in response, happy at the scratching he received. "I am Lucas Larsen of the Larsen family and I wish to speak with the princess, it's important. I didn't have the time to send a letter prior." Lucas said to the guards stationed at the front of the gates seriou
Chapter 51
Alpha watched the border of the two kingdoms with the rest of his group. After Lucas had given them the order to observe the border and make sure that none of the enemy soldiers or anything else would cross into the kingdom. All of them had split up to make sure that they had covered all the area. For the time being, he hasn't seen any unusual activity from the other kingdom which put his mind at ease for the moment as it meant that the danger that his master has thought of hasn't happened yet. He trusts his master and knows that if he has said that a danger is coming, then it will be coming. But for the master to not know what the danger is means that the problem is something that might be hazardous to them all. He is sure that they are very powerful, but he also doesn't want to be too arrogant about it as he knows that it might lead to his death. It was one of the first things that was taught by their master to them when he was teaching them about fighting. Thinking that th

Lucas sat in Aslaug's home as he was being watched by Aslaug and Kriemhild as they looked at each other, not knowing what to make of the situation in front of them as he had a troubled look on his face. "So, why are you here?" Aslaug asked him as she was curious. "A spell that I had used to warn me about danger activated and I don't know what the danger is." Lucas said to them as he looked at the two women. "Wait, what kind of spell is that?" Kriemhild asked in surprise at hearing that. "That is a spell that I had discovered in the past, but for it to be activated means that it is going to be very dangerous. Not to mention, the chance of me dying is also high." Lucas said causing the two to look at him in surprise. "Truly?" Kriemhild asked in surprise, an emotion which was also mirrored by Aslaug. "Yes, this particular spell I used will warn me about great dangers and when I am going to be in a situation where I could lose my life." Lucas said to them as he reclined on his
