Chapter 65

Lucas couldn't believe his eyes as he saw the golems that were attacking them as he couldn't help but squint his eyes as he saw the things. His irritation growing at how much of a problem this new mage was being to them and how much he wanted to end his life so that he doesn't have to deal with all these things.

By now the rest of his group had also spotted the golems as many of the soldiers paled at the sight while Andvaranaut, Olivia and Kriemhild were tense as they saw them. Aslaug just frowned as she looked at the golems, her expression hidden by the helmet.

Lucas licked his lips as he growled at the sight of the enemy, the image of his wyvern being hurt was etched into his mind as he could vividly recall the sight of his charred chest and damaged wings. He was going to make them pay for what they have done.

"Why don't you use your portals to just send them back." Andvaranaut asked him as they had moved back due to the assault.

"It still costs me energy to use my magic. I don't want to tire myself out, especially since we haven't even seen the mage responsible for this." Lucas said as he looked at the enemy lines.

"And they're still coming." Kriemhild said as she saw the soldiers charging towards them.

"Archers! Shoot them down!" Andvaranaut ordered his soldiers as they obeyed.

"I'll take care of the boulders." Aslaug said as she decided to help them out.

She jumped and destroyed or redirected the rocks and chunks of earth to allow the archers to attack the enemy soldiers as Lucas kept a vigilant eye on his group, very aware of their positions and their surroundings as he knew that he can't be lax, lest they be taken by another surprise attack.

The archers shot their arrows and managed to cull the soldiers charging towards them, yet like the rest of their brethren they didn't care about the deaths of their own and just charged at them with abandon as Lucas sneered at the sight.

Aslaug then decided to throw the boulders right at the soldiers, as it managed to take out a good amount of them before she had to focus back on the other attacks from the golems.

'Tch. I have never encountered a golem before, I don't know how strong or durable they are or whether they have resistance to magic. And with the wizard out and about I can't exhaust myself, or I will be an easy target.' Lucas thought to himself as he gnashed his teeth.

"We have to take out those golems, but we don't know if the mage will attack us if we advance." Lucas said as he looked at the things as he tried to come up with an idea.

"They are certainly annoying." Aslaug said as she landed beside him after taking care of another few boulders.

Lucas looked at the golems and at the boulders scattered around them as they had seemed to have used up all of their boulders, and he was quite thankful of the fact that golems are like machines and can't think much, unless it's a special golem which was given the ability to think.

But that is not his problem at the moment and so he doesn't need to think so. He looked at the boulder as he touched it and lifted it up with magic and then changed its shape to become a stake as the others looked at him in surprise.

He will admit to himself that he wasn't that good at Earth magic, as unlike with the other elements, it doesn't just disappear or perhaps it did and he didn't have the knowledge necessary on the matter to do so. Regardless, Earth was the element that he had least experience with using and now that is a bit of a problem for him as he needs it to change the shape of the boulder.

'Still, it's better than nothing. Gotta train it later if I survive.' Lucas thought to himself as he looked at the stake in his left hand.

He surrounded the stake with wind and then launched it towards one of the golems and watched as it hit and destroyed one golem as he smiled at being able to destroy one of them. Aslaug also took this as her que to attack as she picked up a boulder and kicked it, launching it towards the golems.

The boulder landed on a golem as it was destroyed as the soldiers were shocked at the sight. Kriemhild was still surprised at the power the two possessed while Andvaranaut and Olivia couldn't help but look at the woman as they were reminded of the great power of the mysterious knight of Lucas.

'We definitely need to find out about this knight.' Andvaranaut thought to himself as he looked at the woman.

'She is certainly very powerful, and to do that without magic, they are very powerful, at least I think so.' Olivia thought to herself as she looked at the knight.

The soldiers were shocked at the sight of the rather short knight wielding such power was jarring, for they are unable to muster such strength themselves after all.

But Lucas had already created two more stakes with the boulders as he covered them in wind to give them more force as he launched them at the golems as they tried to evade them, only for them to be destroyed as he had anticipated their movement.

As for Aslaug, she used her sword to slice a boulder in two and threw the halves at two more golems, but she clicked herself as one golem was able to survive with only losing its left arm.

'Four more left.' Lucas thought to himself as he got ready to attack again as the soldiers behind him were showering the enemy soldiers with arrows and the mages were given permission to use magic for a bit.

But then Lucas stopped as he saw the golems being attacked by his boys as his eyes widened as he saw them attacking the soldiers and killing them while also using their weapons to attack the golems legs and toppled them as he couldn't help but smile.

"Who are they?" Olivia said in surprise at the people that were attacking their enemy.

"Allies, it would seem." Aslaug said as she recognised them.

"Nevertheless, it would seem that they do wish to aid us, for the time being." Andvaranaut said as he readied his spear.

"This is a good moment for us to attack them. The soldiers and golems are occupied." Lucas said as he knew that they needed to take this chance.

Things were getting too unpredictable with all these new things that have been happening since this battle started and even if it's a bit risky with the other boys in the battlefield, he can't think about it right now. Not until he has found the source of all these magical abilities and nipped it in the bud.

The Prince watched it all happen from a crystal ball as he smiled to himself as the mage watched it from behind as a devious smile appeared on his face.

'Now then, how will you deal with this, I wonder.' The mage thought to himself as he felt amusement as he watched it all happen.
