The soldiers watched with wide eyes as the portal devoured the attacks from the enemy as they were awed by the sight in front of them as Lucas grit his teeth while the others watched.
"Woah." Olivia said in awe at the sight. "Impressive." Andvaranaut said with a nod. "Master Lucas..." Kriemhild said in awe at the giant portal in front of her. The other soldiers who are being protected by him were also awed as they watched the deadly attacks being taken into the portal as he himself is gritting his teeth to ensure that the portal is stable and stays open, otherwise then the soldiers behind him are sure to die, while the more skilled ones would at least be able to dodge the attacks. Aslaug watched the spectacle as she gripped her sword tight as she saw the magic he is using as she watched the powerful attacks being devoured, and she knew that he would also be able to do the same thing to her if he wanted to. Lucas kept his focus as he kept the portal open until the attack was done as he closed it as he hunched and panted a bit as the soldiers celebrated at the successful protection given to them by Lucas as he looked around at them and nodded. Falkor roared and glared ahead as the others looked in the direction and they saw more soldiers charging towards them as their eyes widened as they briefly looked at the soldiers around them before they focused back on the charging soldiers. "Alright, I'm getting tired of you little shits." Lucas said as he growled as the others were taken aback by his words. He then created small portals in front of him and the energy that he had just taken was shot out in small bursts as they went straight towards the charging soldiers. They didn't have the time to react fully and they were hit and killed by the attack while he kept on with his barrage as the charging army was starting to get smaller. He then stopped the barrage to catch some breath as he looked behind him to see the surprised and stupefied expressions on the faces of the people as he blinked. "What? I used a lot of energy to protect us from the attack. I need some time to collect myself." Lucas said to them. "Of course, I understand. That was a powerful attack." Andvaranaut said with a nod. The sky cracked with lightning as it fell down on the enemy soldiers as they screamed in pain as they fell down, dead from the attack as Olivia smiled at the sight of the falling lightning. "The court mage is doing good. Men! We will have to fight again! Be ready!" Andvaranaut shouted to his men as they roared and raised their weapons. Lucas smiled at the energy of the soldiers as Kriemhild and Aslaug came to his side as they looked at the enemies. "Just how many people are in the army?" Aslaug asked the woman as she was starting to get annoyed at the number of enemies. "I don't know. I just know that there were a lot, but even so, it's unusual for so many soldiers to be ready to fight after they had lost the war, I think many of them were even honourable people." Kriemhild said as she furrowed her eyebrows at the soldiers. "There is something wrong with them. At first I was not sure, but there is no doubt that magic has been used on them." Aslaug said with seriousness as she twirled her sword in her hand. "Is that why they are so much stronger than normal." Kriemhild asked as she had an inkling about it as they were more durable than before. "That might also be why they are so eager to fight, and even ignoring the deaths of their comrades so readily." Lucas said to the two women with a frown in his face. Olivia who was checking herself and her weapon looked at Lucas as he is with the two warriors as she went to his side as her horse followed her as Falkor kept his eyes on the soldiers with his mouth open and ready to attack with his flames. "What are you thinking?" Olivia asked him as he turned to her. "We think that these soldiers might be under the effect of a powerful spell, which not only makes them stronger, but perhaps it also controls their minds." Lucas said to her as her eyes widened. "A-Are you sure?" Olivia asked as she looked at the dead soldiers. While she doesn't care much about them considering the fact that they are the enemy, she did feel pity for them if they were made to fight against their own wills. If they fought of their own wills then she would be fine with it, as it would be their own decision, but if that isn't the truth,... well, she didn't like that train of thought. "Perhaps. They are too nonchalant about the death of their comrades, and they are almost single mindedly working to kill us. Ever disregarding perhaps their own safety to do so, that's not normal." Lucas said to her as he looked at the enemy army as the lightning attack had stopped. "The mage now has his hands full." Aslaug said as they looked at the sky and saw more streaks of golden light going towards the castle. "Father, mother..." Olivia said in worry as she gripped her spear tight. "Unless we can find the one who is using the magic, we can only fight these soldiers." Lucas said as he looked at the enemies. "Are they also attacking from other places?" Aslaug asked the princess. "No. Not yet at least, they are all attacking from here." Olivia said as she got ready to fight as her soldiers also got ready to attack. The archers sent volleys of arrows straight at the enemy soldiers as they charged without care, and even though some had been killed due to fatal shots, the other soldiers just shrugged the fact that there were arrows embedded in their bodies and charged at them as Lucas narrowed his eyes. Aslaug growled at the pointless attack of the soldiers as she grabbed a tree and uprooted it from the ground, shocking the people there as Lucas looked at her with wide eyes. She ignored it and then threw the newly obtained tree right towards the enemy soldiers. The ones in the front died almost immediately as they were either crushed or the arrows were pushed deeper inside of their wounds, while also becoming a barricade which caused the soldiers to crash into each other due to their momentum and causing them to pause, giving time for their enemies. "You're strong." Andvaranaut said after a moment at the spectacle of the smaller knight. "I know." Aslaug said as she glared at the tree. Lucas whistled and Falkor roared as he rose into the air by flapping his powerful wings and it then spewed out flames from its maw right at the tree and the soldiers. The tree caught fire very quickly and blocked them, as the wyvern proceeded to attack the rest with his flames as the soldiers cried out from pain due to the flames as Lucas watched. 'It is just... too easy. These soldiers are not enough to actually take over the kingdom, and even the court mage is there to protect the royal family, and me, Falkor and Aslaug are also here as well.' Lucas thought to himself as he looked at the dying soldiers with pity and worry. But then Falkor stopped with his flames and roared which caused Lucas and the others to blink in surprise as the wyvern flew away from the soldiers and rose higher into the air. "Everyone, move back now!" Lucas shouted a moment later as his eyes widened. The soldiers were surprised but Andvaranaut, Olivia, Kriemhild and Aslaug obeyed immediately as they moved back as he also jumped back as soon after massive chunks of the earth started to fall from the sky alongside large pieces of rocks as well. "Falkor, fly!" Lucas shouted to his wyvern as he roared and flew to dodge the rocks and the earth. However a single shot of golden light immediately shot towards the wyvern and as it was quite busy dodging the rocks, he wasn't able to dodge it as it impacted, square on his chest as he cried out in pain. "Falkor!" Lucas shouted in fear and worry as the wyvern was blasted out of the sky, even as he himself has to dodge the flying rocks. He summoned portals to shoot the golden energy and destroy the rocks as he looked at his wyvern and saw his burning chest and saw that his right wing had also been damaged, so he raised his hand and created a portal right under him as the wyvern fell inside as he closed it. "Are they using catapults?" Andvaranaut asked as he stayed with Olivia and made sure that she was fine. "No, these are uneven. It's something else. Magic?" Olivia said as she looked at her horse as it ran away. "I don't feel any magic from them. These rocks and earth are being taken and thrown from the land itself." Lucas said as he sliced a boulder in half. He focused past the soldiers which were making use of this opportunity to close the distance as he managed to see the source of the rocks using magic and his eyes widened as he saw them. 'You gotta be kidding me. Are those golems?!' Lucas thought to himself in shock.Latest Chapter
Chapter 68
Lucas and his companions stormed the palace as they charged in through the main door and ran as they didn't find any guards there, but they kept running to find the mage and stop this war. They ascended a flight of steps to get to the throne room. But they were met with the sight of more than 100 soldiers who were ready with their weapons as they immediately honed in on the intruders. "Attack!" The commander shouted as the soldiers ran. Arrows and magic flew towards them as Lucas and Aslaug charged forward and sliced the magical attacks while the others followed their lead while dodging the arrows as the enemy soldiers were charging at them at the same time. Olivia wreathed her spear with lightning as she threw it as it sailed through the air and impaled through a line of soldiers and stabbed through the heart of a mage, before it yanked itself out and flew back towards Olivia as she grabbed it as she met the soldiers blades with her alongside the rest. Andvaranaut had noticed ho
Chapter 67
Lucas and his group charged through the territory as they passed by civilians and soldiers, the latter of which they dispatched off pretty quickly, as it was quite easy for Lucas to do so with his magic. He also had held from Olivia and Andvaranaut as they also used their spears to shoot lightning at the enemies, the two weapons were given to them by the court mage and they were pretty reliable weapons. Aslaug watched them and frowned as her own sword is unable to do the same thing, which makes her limited in terms of range, which in hindsight would've been useful when she had first fought against Lucas. 'Hmm, I guess that is a limitation I have.' Aslaug thought to herself as she rode the horse as they charged at the castle. Of course, the way to the castle wasn't quite easy as there were soldiers that tried to kill them but they were dispatched off quickly as they made the horses run faster as they felt the wind over their faces and skin as they charged, it was true for Lucas,
Chapter 66
Lucas felt his power increase as the runes were becoming more attuned to his body as his own body was getting used to them as well as they were harmonizing as he ran towards the golems and his own brats as the others followed on their foot as they charged at the enemies. Alpha and the rest of the boys also noticed their Lord and the army coming towards them with Lucas at their helm. the guy himself nodded to them as he approached as they smiled at his acknowledgement, but focused back on the battle as they knew that it had more priority at the moment. Lucas charged forward, not about to let this opportunity go by as Aslaug immediately followed after him, being the only one who is equal ground to him, followed by Andvaranaut, Olivia and Kriemhild as they charged. He reached the nearest golem as his sword sang as he slashed it's leg as he passed one of his boys as he slashed off its right arm, grabbed it to have leverage before he plunged the sword into the golems head, got a foot
Chapter 65
Lucas couldn't believe his eyes as he saw the golems that were attacking them as he couldn't help but squint his eyes as he saw the things. His irritation growing at how much of a problem this new mage was being to them and how much he wanted to end his life so that he doesn't have to deal with all these things. By now the rest of his group had also spotted the golems as many of the soldiers paled at the sight while Andvaranaut, Olivia and Kriemhild were tense as they saw them. Aslaug just frowned as she looked at the golems, her expression hidden by the helmet. Lucas licked his lips as he growled at the sight of the enemy, the image of his wyvern being hurt was etched into his mind as he could vividly recall the sight of his charred chest and damaged wings. He was going to make them pay for what they have done. "Why don't you use your portals to just send them back." Andvaranaut asked him as they had moved back due to the assault. "It still costs me energy to use my magic. I don

Chapter 63
Olivia charged as she tapped her foot on the side of her horse as it picked up its pace alongside her master's as the two stabbed through the soldiers in front of them. The remaining soldiers were a few mages, archers and a handful of melee soldiers as their army charged at them. Olivia jumped from her horse as her spear channeled lightning through its tip as she threw the weapon towards the soldiers. It impaled clean through three of them as she landed on the ground and she charged forwards as she was attacked by the archers and mages. She narrowly dodged the attacks as she saw the impaled soldiers raising their weapons which surprised her as the one in the front is wielding a sword, the second and third are mages as she was impressed by their tenacity to keep going. But she focused once more as she unsheathed her sword as she sliced off the arm of the one in front as she pulled out her spear as the blood splashed on the ground as she glared at the soldiers as her spear's blade
