When he arrived within striking distance, he slashed his machete forward. The machete sliced through the air at a tremendous speed, and when it was only a few inches away from him Scott swerved to the side and dodged the machete by a hair length.

After successfully dodging the strike, the machete kept travelling forward due to the insane pressure Kaveh applied while swinging it out, and when it collided with the counter behind Scott, it sliced it in half.

Kaveh retrieved the machete swiftly and swung it out once more with with full force. Reacting swiftly, Scott sidestepped, dodging had strike by a few inches and it ended up destroying the counter completely.

Scott countered with a punch, but before the punch could make impact, Kaveh raised his right arm and blocked the punch in the last second. Scott then swung out his second fist after realising Kaveh blocked the fist with ease. But just like the first one, Kaveh deflected the fist off with his arm and countered with a kick.

"So what exactly happened?" Scott demanded, his voice sharp and filled with urgency, his curiosity piqued by the sudden revelations."Months ago, Mr. Nicola Lombardi—the owner of the biggest petroleum company in this city—tried to take over your Western lands," Aunt Kelly began, her tone grave. "He claimed the land doesn't legally belong to you. He said it belongs to the government, and since he had been in contact with government officials, he intended to assume full control over it.""Sandro was desperately trying to reach you, but his calls weren’t going through. We were on the brink of losing the case—Mr. Nicola was winning at every turn. He almost took complete control of the land... but then Kael stepped forward and offered to help. He reached out to some of the top businessmen in the city, seeking allies to counter Nicola’s influence. Eventually, one of them agreed to assist us... it was Mr. Marco. He had connections within the government and claimed he could easily sway the ca

Scott drove his car down the bustling city street. The late afternoon sun filtered through tall glass buildings, casting golden streaks across the windshield. Inside the car, silence reigned. His right hand clutched the steering wheel with quiet intensity, his expression carved from stone, gaze fixed unwaveringly on the road ahead. His mind raced with thoughts of what had happened earlier.Mohammed—brazen and arrogant—had strolled into his territory like he owned it.Scott's jaw tightened. With his left hand, he reached down to his belt and retrieved the gleaming silver revolver holstered at his side. He lowered his gaze and stared at the weapon for a few moments, his reflection glinting back at him from the polished steel. If he’d had this revolver earlier, Mohammed wouldn’t have left the mansion alive. That was a mistake he wouldn’t repeat. He returned the gun to its holster, adjusted his coat, and pressed on.After what felt like an eternity of driving, Scott finally pulled over in

  • Double the security

The room fell into a tense silence after Mohammed finished speaking. Scott remained seated, his dark eyes locked onto his adversary with a cold, unreadable expression. His arms were folded tightly across his chest, and he leaned back slightly in his chair, unmoved. After a long, loaded pause, Mohammed finally broke the silence.“You should always be prepared, Scott. I must admit, I’m not impressed with your security. The way I walked in here—it was easy… too easy.”Scott’s eyes narrowed. “And what makes you think leaving will be just as easy as coming in?” he replied icily. “You walked into the den of your enemy for what? To introduce yourself and issue a threat? You came without an army, just a pistol. What made you believe I’d let you walk out of here alive?”Mohammed smirked. Without a word, he reached for the pistol tucked into his belt and slowly drew it. He raised it, aiming directly at Scott’s head, his finger resting firmly on the trigger.“Because if you try anything foolish,

  • An unknown visitor

A few moments after Miranda exited the hall, the wooden door flung open again, and in came a man. The man was tall, clad in a long white native attire. His face was covered with bushy black beards, and a small white traditional cap sat on top of his head. Scott raised his head slowly, and when he spotted the man, he swiftly rose to his feet and reached for the revolver at his belt… but unfortunately, there was nothing there. “Easy now, boy. You don’t want blood all over your beautiful meeting hall, do you?” the man said softly, a smirk evident on his face. He advanced forward slowly, his hands still tucked casually in his pockets. “Who are you?” Scott demanded. “You know, in a vendetta, you should always keep your weapon by your side. But look at you—completely unarmed. I could easily kill you right now,” the man spoke audibly, the smirk still lingering on his face. “I don’t need a weapon to kill a guy like you,” Scott bellowed. “And you don’t have to answer my question… I alrea

The men and women kept speaking, informing Scott about the business and operations that had taken place while he was away, as well as how Kael had handled things on his own. Scott listened attentively. Deep down, he doubted most of their words. He knew they were only trying to make him believe that Kael was a good guy—but he said nothing. All he did was listen. They spoke for several minutes until they were finally done, and the hall went dead silent.Scott just sat there in silence, digesting everything, his hands resting on the golden table, his eyes glancing at the people sitting around him. After a few moments of silence, he finally spoke up, “Thank you all for your hard work and dedication. You managed to cooperate and work diligently while I was away. I appreciate that.”They all nodded collectively.“But boss, don’t you think Kael should be part of this meeting?” a man among the group questioned. The man was known as Gabriel Veratti.“And why should he be part of the meeting?”

Scott retrieved the vulture's feather from Kael to examine it closely. The feather was far bigger than that of normal birds, and it was also pitch black.A vulture...A sign of death.Scott already knew the Arabic men were behind the killing of the guards, but now the footage just confirmed it."Who do you think these men are?" Kael whispered to Scott. "What do you think they want?"Scott stood there in silence for a few moments before shifting his gaze towards Kael. "Did such a thing happen while I was away? Was anyone killed?""No, boss. This is the first time," Kael affirmed, and Scott went mute once again. They know. They waited until he was back before they began the killings. They knew he was back."Give these men a proper burial and make sure their families lack nothing," Scott ordered after a few moments of silence, and Kael bowed slightly. "I also want you to arrange a meeting. I'd like to speak to the high-ranking members in the empire... every single one of them should gath

"You don't have to worry about Kael anymore. Now that I'm back, he no longer has the power to harm anyone," Scott affirmed."Are you going to punish him, though? He shouldn't get away with everything he's done. I know I haven't been here for even a month, but in that short time, I could see how terrified everyone was of him. He tortured people day in and day out. That man is a monster," Angela muttered.Scott leaned back in his seat, folding his arms across his chest, a thoughtful expression settling on his face."As much as I hate to admit it, I don't think I can punish Kael," Scott stated."What? Why not?" Angela blurted out, her brows furrowed in disbelief."He kept things running while I was gone. If he hadn't done what he did, the empire might've collapsed entirely," Scott replied firmly."So you're saying you support the way he treated everyone? The cruelty?" Angela asked, her tone sharp with disapproval."I'm not saying that," Scott responded, shaking his head. "I'm just saying

  • Time to adapt

The Next Morning...The rays of the morning sun flickered into the luxurious room, cutting through the delicate curtains and shining brightly into Scott’s eyes, stirring him from his slumber. With a low grunt, he sat up slowly, the silky bedsheets slipping down his bare chest. He swung his legs off the bed and stretched his body with a deep yawn before moving toward the large window at the far end of the room.As he pulled the curtain aside, the golden sunlight flooded in, casting a warm glow across the marble floor. His eyes scanned the estate grounds. From his vantage point, he could already see his workers hard at work. The guards were patrolling the compound with practiced precision, eyes constantly scanning for any disturbance. Meanwhile, the maids were bustling about, cleaning every corner of the massive property with quiet efficiency.Scott stood there for a few moments, taking it all in—the return to normalcy, the subtle hum of activity that came with power. With a deep breath

Meanwhile… Elsewhere on Scott’s estate…In a quiet, deserted section of the property, four guards sat in a loose circle on wooden chairs, their flashlights clutched in their left hands while their rifles hung over their shoulders. The air was cool and thick with silence, broken only by the occasional rustle of leaves or the chirping of distant insects. They were stationed near the outer boundary of the estate—a less-traveled area that bordered dense woods. "I can't believe boss is back, man." One of the guards said, raising his plastic and sipping the gin he held in his right hand."I can't believe that after all these months he finally returned. Many said he was dead, some said he abandoned the empire because of all the responsibilities. But he's finally back." Another guard spoke up, and a joyful expression evident on his face."I'm really glad he's back. Even though I haven't met him or see him, I know he's a good and generous man. He increases our salary every month back then. No
