Scott didn't bother uttering another word as he just turned around and began to walk away. Mrs Sheila's face turned bright red in anger as she watched Scott walk away and he clearly wasn't affected by her words.

"You worthless scumbag! Who do you think you are to ignore my mother!" Louis, Caroline's brother, voiced out in anger as he charged towards Scott.

He grabbed Scott's collar from behind and turned him around before swinging out a punch towards Scott's face. The fist traveled towards Scott's face at a tremendous speed, and when it was only inches away from him,Scott lifted his right hand and caught the fist in the last second.

After stopping the fist, Scott clenched his left fist and punched it out. The fist slammed heavily on Louis's jaw, lifted him off the floor, and sent him crashing backwards.

Everyone's eyes in the living room widened in terror as they watched Louis's body crashed against the wall and fell on the floor.

"What the hell?" Mrs Sheila blurted out in shock as sh

"Doctor, do you have a second?" Jordan beckoned on him."What's the matter, officer?" The assistant doctor inquired."I just have one question for you. Who else did you inform about Marie waking up from her coma earlier today?" Jordan questioned in a deep and serious tone, and his eyes glaring right into the eyes of the doctor. The doctor stood there for a few seconds before he finally responded, "I only informed her brother, no one else.""Just Scott? Are you sure?" Jordan questioned."Yes. Just him." He responded before walking away, leaving Jordan alone with his thoughts. Jordan weren't back to the bench and sat with looks of contemplation."He only told Scott about it and no one else, meaning the only people who knew about Marie's recovery was I, Chief Jim, and Scott." Jordan pondered internally. "I was with Chief the whole time, so he probably didn't tell anyone else. Scott on the other hand, I'm not sure. If he is working with the Gang Hunter and also gave him info about Marie w

"Who did this to you, Scott?"Scott remained mute after hearing the words of Jordan as he contemplated on whether or not he should tell him that the people responsible for it was the Fernando's family. If he should say something against the family, the police might take legal actions on them, and that could tamper with his mission here. So the best thing to do is give a false report."I got attacked by gang members." Scott responded."Really? Why?" (SOMEWHERE ELSE)The police station was a bustling hub of activity in the afternoon. The fluorescent lights overhead cast a bright glow over the rows of desks and chairs, where officers typed away on their computers or chatted with colleagues. The air was thick with the smell of stale coffee and worn leather. To one side, a large conference table dominated the room, surrounded by chairs and stacks of files. A whiteboard covered in scribbled notes and diagrams stood at the head of the table, a testament to the ongoing investigations. The sound of keyboards clacking, phones ringing, and muted conversations filled the air, punctuated by the occasional rustle of papers or the creak of a chair. A TV mounted in the corner played a live news broadcast, the anchor's voice a steady hum in the background. The walls were adorned with maps, charts, and wanted posters, a visual reminder of the station's purpose. "He probably doesn't know anything. I mean, don't get me wrong, he might be suspecting us that we are still chasing the case, but he doesn't know for sure if we are indeed chasing the case. He is yet to catch us red-handed, neither does he have any evidence against us, so relax, Chief. As long as we play this safe, nothing would happen." Jordan remarked with his voice barely above a whisper."That's good. We have to be extra careful when having our meeting." Chief Jim sounded. "Since tonight is the night of the annual gang meeting, we should all meet in the secret tunnel to revise the plan and make things clear." He added."Yeah, that's a good idea. I'll inform the rest of the team and we shall all gather up in the tunnel." Jordan gave him a salute before standing up and exiting the office.***Bac

A few moments after Miranda exited the hall, the wooden door flung open again, and in came a man. The man was tall, clad in a long white native attire. His face was covered with bushy black beards, and a small white traditional cap sat on top of his head. Scott raised his head slowly, and when he spotted the man, he swiftly rose to his feet and reached for the revolver at his belt… but unfortunately, there was nothing there. “Easy now, boy. You don’t want blood all over your beautiful meeting hall, do you?” the man said softly, a smirk evident on his face. He advanced forward slowly, his hands still tucked casually in his pockets. “Who are you?” Scott demanded. “You know, in a vendetta, you should always keep your weapon by your side. But look at you—completely unarmed. I could easily kill you right now,” the man spoke audibly, the smirk still lingering on his face. “I don’t need a weapon to kill a guy like you,” Scott bellowed. “And you don’t have to answer my question… I alrea

The men and women kept speaking, informing Scott about the business and operations that had taken place while he was away, as well as how Kael had handled things on his own. Scott listened attentively. Deep down, he doubted most of their words. He knew they were only trying to make him believe that Kael was a good guy—but he said nothing. All he did was listen. They spoke for several minutes until they were finally done, and the hall went dead silent.Scott just sat there in silence, digesting everything, his hands resting on the golden table, his eyes glancing at the people sitting around him. After a few moments of silence, he finally spoke up, “Thank you all for your hard work and dedication. You managed to cooperate and work diligently while I was away. I appreciate that.”They all nodded collectively.“But boss, don’t you think Kael should be part of this meeting?” a man among the group questioned. The man was known as Gabriel Veratti.“And why should he be part of the meeting?”

Scott retrieved the vulture's feather from Kael to examine it closely. The feather was far bigger than that of normal birds, and it was also pitch black.A vulture...A sign of death.Scott already knew the Arabic men were behind the killing of the guards, but now the footage just confirmed it."Who do you think these men are?" Kael whispered to Scott. "What do you think they want?"Scott stood there in silence for a few moments before shifting his gaze towards Kael. "Did such a thing happen while I was away? Was anyone killed?""No, boss. This is the first time," Kael affirmed, and Scott went mute once again. They know. They waited until he was back before they began the killings. They knew he was back."Give these men a proper burial and make sure their families lack nothing," Scott ordered after a few moments of silence, and Kael bowed slightly. "You don't have to worry about Kael anymore. Now that I'm back, he no longer has the power to harm anyone," Scott affirmed."Are you going to punish him, though? He shouldn't get away with everything he's done. I know I haven't been here for even a month, but in that short time, I could see how terrified everyone was of him. He tortured people day in and day out. That man is a monster," Angela muttered.Scott leaned back in his seat, folding his arms across his chest, a thoughtful expression settling on his face."As much as I hate to admit it, I don't think I can punish Kael," Scott stated."What? Why not?" Angela blurted out, her brows furrowed in disbelief."He kept things running while I was gone. If he hadn't done what he did, the empire might've collapsed entirely," Scott replied firmly."So you're saying you support the way he treated everyone? The cruelty?" Angela asked, her tone sharp with disapproval."I'm not saying that," Scott responded, shaking his head. "I'm just saying

The Next Morning...The rays of the morning sun flickered into the luxurious room, cutting through the delicate curtains and shining brightly into Scott’s eyes, stirring him from his slumber. With a low grunt, he sat up slowly, the silky bedsheets slipping down his bare chest. He swung his legs off the bed and stretched his body with a deep yawn before moving toward the large window at the far end of the room.As he pulled the curtain aside, the golden sunlight flooded in, casting a warm glow across the marble floor. His eyes scanned the estate grounds. From his vantage point, he could already see his workers hard at work. The guards were patrolling the compound with practiced precision, eyes constantly scanning for any disturbance. Meanwhile, the maids were bustling about, cleaning every corner of the massive property with quiet efficiency.Scott stood there for a few moments, taking it all in—the return to normalcy, the subtle hum of activity that came with power. Meanwhile… Elsewhere on Scott’s estate…In a quiet, deserted section of the property, four guards sat in a loose circle on wooden chairs, their flashlights clutched in their left hands while their rifles hung over their shoulders. The air was cool and thick with silence, broken only by the occasional rustle of leaves or the chirping of distant insects. They were stationed near the outer boundary of the estate—a less-traveled area that bordered dense woods. "I can't believe boss is back, man." One of the guards said, raising his plastic and sipping the gin he held in his right hand."I can't believe that after all these months he finally returned. Many said he was dead, some said he abandoned the empire because of all the responsibilities. But he's finally back." Another guard spoke up, and a joyful expression evident on his face."I'm really glad he's back. Even though I haven't met him or see him, I know he's a good and generous man. He increases our salary every month back then. No

Scott walked up the staircase, ascending toward his room with slow, deliberate steps. When he reached the door, he paused for a moment before pushing it open. Scott stood silently at the threshold, his eyes sweeping across the space as a distant, unreadable expression settled on his face. The room was exactly as he had left it months ago. Not a single thing seemed out of place. There were no cobwebs in the corners, no dust blanketing the surfaces—clear evidence that the maids had continued tending to it regularly. They must have believed he would one day return, and they had kept it in perfect shape, almost as if time had stopped here."At least he didn't touch my room," Scott murmured to himself, stepping inside and gently closing the door behind him.He moved toward the bed and sat down heavily, leaning his elbows on his knees, his back hunched and his mind consumed with thought. His face remained expressionless, but his eyes told a different story—one of confusion, disappointment,

  • Welcome back, boss!

Scott ran his fingers through his sleek black hair and paced back and forth on the raised platform. The things he was hearing now were vastly different from how things had been just months ago. It felt like everything had changed completely—as if he had been gone for years—yet it hadn't even been a full year since his departure."You mean Sandro never used the money I sent him to support the companies?" Scott finally questioned, his voice edged with disbelief."No, he didn’t," Kael replied audibly. "Whenever I told him the company was running low on cash, he would say we should manage because you hadn’t been answering your calls. The company was slowly going bankrupt because there was no money to sustain it. That’s why I took those loans.""Sandro?" Scott echoed bitterly. "How could he do this to me? I trusted him.""I don’t think now is the time for you to worry about that, boss. You literally just got back home after months. You should’ve told me you were coming—I would have—""What

Kael stood motionless on the raised platform, a puzzled expression evident on his face as his eyes locked onto the sleek black car slowly driving onto the green field. The murmuring of the crowd faded into a tense silence as all heads turned to watch the vehicle approach. A thick wave of curiosity and unease swept through them, each person wondering who could possibly be inside. They all recognized the vehicle. It wasn’t just any car—it was a limousine reserved exclusively for the highest-ranking members of the empire. But all known high-ranking figures were already present on the field. The presence of this particular car raised an immediate and unsettling question: who else could it be?Down on the wooden platform, Jude Gallagher remained on his knees, his wrists still bound. He squinted at the advancing limousine, his breath caught in his throat. Then, slowly, a wide grin crept across his bruised face.“He’s… back,” he muttered softly, the words barely a whisper, yet somehow still
