The next few hours were intentional for Lucian.

He listened keenly as the representatives explained the scenario to him.

The place was a mess.

Brown greenish dregs stained the walls.

"That's the vomit of the many people who were infected. Its so disgusting."

Lucian stopped there, using a small lab stick to collect some of the sample and put it into a vial.

The man retched. "We've already tested it. If there's any lead here, it's definitely not in those gags. It's pointless -"

Where are you going, please? Who are you? You can't just barge into this corporate space -"But he barely acknowledged the screaming receptionist as he raised up the fleet of stairs.Upon getting to the floor of the CEO's office, he spotted Tracy's assistant Martha, standing, looking around in confusion.A slight air of relief washed over him."Where's Tracy?!"She stared at him, her face twisted in co

"Sir, you said we were going to look at your investments today and -" "Forget that. I need to do something urgently. Trace Tracy's phone for me." Aurora looked confused for a split second but she immediately nodded. "Yes, boss." Lucian got into his car, taking a deep breath before jetting out into the highway. He might not have been able to save Charles, but he would do all within his power to save the people who were close to him now, even if it meant him abandoning his own business for a moment. Where was he even headed? He had no clue. But he just knew he couldn't sit around doing nothing. As he drove, his phone vibrated with a call. He picked it wi

Olivia chuckled awkwardly, her hands trembling slightly.Surely he couldn't embarrass her like that, could he?"Come on, Lucian. We both know you don't mean that." She moved closer to him, making sure her eyes converted the message she was trying to pass across clearly."We both know you're too kindhearted and loving to give up on us. Lucian sat at a table, minding his business and sipping on a glass of champagne. It had been a tough week. Charles death had come as a huge blow to him, disorienting him and leaving him demotivated and almost depressed. "Charles." The name now felt like a beautiful memory to him and he just hated that. Memories of himself standing before the grave of the man who had built him to become who he was came flooding back. Lucian downed his wine in a gulp to drown them. The heartache was too much to bear. "You must be having a ball now that you've successfully snuck yourself into this high-end establishment!" Lucian didn't need to turn around to recognise that voice. He was in no mood for that. Ignoring Blake, he scrolled on his phone, going through some of the emails Aurora had sent to him. "Don't try to brush me off, Lucian, or I'll have you thrown out!" Blake had finally gotten to Lucian's seat. He stood in front of him with his hands tucked into his pocket. "I don't have ti

Silence. The shock on the faces of everyone in the room was evident, including the faces of the family members. They all stared at him in confusion, whispering among themselves about who he was and if he was there to save them. Victor's face slowly contorted from shock to one of complete amusement. Then he burst into a loud cackling laughter. His men followed suit. After laughing uncontrollably for almost two minutes, he turned back to Lucian, his expression now cold. "Your guts would have been admirable in other case scenarios." Pointing the gun directly at Lucian, his eyes darkened. "Bye bye, stranger!" All hearts in the room pounded as the trigger was pulled. The sound of the gun reverberated across the room. Victor's grin was wide again, his men's smile even wider. Until they saw it. The strange man who has burst in seemed to have disappeared into thin air. "Where is he?" "Did his body fall outside or something?!" They muttered among themselves. Vict
