Chapter4: Uger and Wolves

As Arden and company continued to stride towards the green pillar of light or according to the system, the beacon.

Evnor endlessly conversed with Arden, explaining to him how amazing the Astro world was and which place he was currently located in the Evamore island, and the several clans inhabiting the Evamore island.

Arden widened his eyes in amazement as soon as he heard of the various races that could be found on just one island in the whole of Astro world.

"The Urcs, the Infernal demons, and the Holy falcons, I wonder just how the other races look compared to the Moon Elfs" Arden mumbled inwardly.

Just when the group covered two kilometres, the ground beneath their very feet suddenly trembled greatly as if a massive earthquake was occurring.

"what the hell is going on!" Arden blurted.

"this tremor!, something very big and powerful must be heading our way!" Evnor exclaimed.

"Such a powerful presence, I don't think we can contend with this entity" the other middle aged Elf in golden armor whispered to Micrio.

"your right, brother Althev, it's mere presence gives me the sensation that it could crush me easily"

"Everyone stop moving at once! We have come across a dangerous entity!" Micrio shouted out to the rest.

"Ahh" The petit maid, Noiter yelped in fright and quickly stopped moving, her body shaking from fright.

Seeing that Evnor and everyone stopped moving, Arden halted in between his steps, his heart pounding.

Just when the ground trembled, he seemed to have sensed an enormously powerful life force emitting from an unknown presence far ahead.

"boom!" "boom!" "bang!"

The earth beneath Arden's and Everyone's feet trembled continuously and more intensely as the presence drew nearer.

The live force he sensed from this unknown presence was so deep that he wasn't able to peer into it's depths, this realization filled Arden with a sense of terror which even he couldn't control.

It was as if he were a rat who just sensed the presence of a monstrous cat.

As the presence drew closer and closer, a towering creature which was almost as large as a small mountain came into Ardens and everyone's view.

The enormous creature which appeared in the horizon resembled an Uger, it had four arms and a huge stature, ignoring it's wide tommy which jiggled as it walked.

The creature's right hand held a massive bone club proportional to it's body and it's eyes glinted fiercely.

Two curved lower canine teeth extended out of it's lips and it's wide mouth dripped with saliva.

Despite its fierce eyes, it looked to be in a daze as it's lips continued drooling.

"what is this monster?"

"What's with that expression on it's face, is it drooling over our meat?" Arden whispered to Evnor.

"That thing is an Uger, though I haven't seen one, I have heard a lot of stories about these enormous giants, it says that they are entities of great destruction when provoked" Evnor's face was solemn as she explained to him in a hushed tone.

"Really?, then we must be in trouble, it's gazing at us like we are it's food, how can it be so gluttonous, we are so small that we can't even fit a hole between it's teeth."

As Arden complained inwardly, the gigantic creature drew closer from the horizon.

Everyone's heart pounded crazily because of fear but they still didn't dare to move in front of the gigantic Uger.

Fortunately for them, the gigantic creature suddenly paused as if it had sensed something interesting, then it sniffed around with it's large nose before changing it's path and started running towards the east.

As it ran, the ground trembled nonstop as if dozens of explosive were set of one after the other but Arden heaved a long sigh of relief as he watched it run into the horizon.

In less than a minute, both it appearance and presence vanished into the east. Arden felt relieved that something attracted the gigantic creature's attention and lured it away.

Micro exhorted to be more careful as he led the way forward.

"Should we really continue?" Noiter asked shakily

"Come on Noiter, don't just get scared away, at every sign of trouble, you already know to brave the dangers in order to obtain fortune" Evnor remarked as she strode forth decisively.

Arden followed her without saying anything though, inwardly, he was a little hesitant to continue on this venture because of how dangerous it'll be.

But even if he was afraid of meeting terrifying creatures like the gigantic monster, it still couldn't compare with Arden's fear of death at the system's hand by Electrocution.

Fortunately for Arden and the rest, as they proceeded, they didn't encounter another terrifying creature like the gigantic monster.

In five hours, the group covered the distance of fifty kilometres, their unique 77π~ because it had made them more cautious than before.

In total, Arden and the others had covered the distance of over seventy kilometers in seven hours. They still had seventeen hours to cover the remaining thirty kilometers.

Arden rejoiced because of this, reaching the beacon and completing the mission is only a matter of time for him.

They covered another twenty five kilometers in three more hours, the bright pillar of green light now appeared conspicuously not too far in front of them.

However, just when his heart leaped with joy and hope, he suddenly detected a large number of life force in front of him.

Micro and Althev who where leading to way paused.

Because of this, Arden, The Elf princess and her maid also stopped moving and became alerted.

The life force or presence were being emanated from numerous creatures which were apparently in front of them.

Arden and the others hid behind the trees and focused their sights, peering in front of them.

What they saw was a pack of wolves in the distance.

These wolves were larger than regular wolves Arden knew of in Earth. thy were about the size of an adult male lion and had two goatlike horns stretching up on their heads.

As he scrutinized the wolves, Arden tried seeking his way forth only to suddenly hear a low growl coming from the underbrush.

He and the others stopped in their tracks, listening intently. The growling grew louder, and they realized that they were already surrounded by the wolves.

Arden and the others quicly got into a defensive stance, ready to defend themselves. They knew that these wolves were dangerous predators, and any mistake could lead to their deaths.

Arden tried to remember all he knew about wolves from Earth, desiring that it would provide him an edge in the battle.

The wolves emerged from the trees, snarling and bearing their teeth. There were at least twenty of them, and they were closing in on the group fast from different directions.

Surprisingly, in the face of such attack, the two guards, Micrio and Althev withdraw from the frontlines and allowed Evnor, Noiter and Arden to directly face the brunt of the attack.

While Arden was puzzled by their action, he saw the alluring and dainty Elf princess withdrawing her weapon, a long sword made of jade which was illuminated with radiant light.

Arden was beyond shocked when he sensed Evnor's life force, her presence strongly superseded her ranking which was rank five of Celestial novice.

Noiter on the other hand, who flashed out a pitch black dagger had the presence of a rank three celestial novice which suggested her to be in the same rank as Arden.

Arden braced himself for the onslaught, he appeared to be unafraid of this pack of wolves.

This was because unlike the gigantic creature who's level of existence and strength he couldn't fanthom relying on his life force sensing ability, he could tell that all the wolves where in level 2 of rank A or perhaps rank two Celestial Novice but regardless they where one level weaker than him.

"Roar!"

A beastly growl chimed as three of the wolves sprang towards Arden from different directions.

Relying on his superior speed, Arden was able to react quickly to the wolves' movements. He dodged their attacks and struck back with precise and deadly blows.

The wolves were taken aback by Arden's speed and agility, but it was to late for them to react, the lazonion swift blade cut through their flesh like butter and gravely injured them.

Arden knew that he had to use his knowledge and skill to quickly wrap up these creatures otherwise, they might hinder him and result in him failing in his mission.

As painful wails emanated from the injured wolves, Arden seized the advantage and quickly struck them while they were down.

In a quick motion, he slashed at the injured wolves one after the other, delivering killing blows.

The same or similar scenes played out on Evnor and Noiter's side.

The princess was even swifter and deadlier than Arden, she slayed each wolf with a single strike.

just like that, almost all the wolves where killed by Ardens and the two Elf girls one after the other however, right after Arden killed his last attacker, he suddenly felt a dangerous feeling behind him.

He quickly turned and noticed that among the wolves, a particular wolf which was larger than the others, with a thicker coat and sharper teeths was gazing at him with a dangerous glint in it's eyes. It emitted a denser life force, highlighting it's existence which was level 3, the same level as Arden.

One look at this wolf enabled Arden to realized that this was the alpha male, and that the other wolves were it minions.
