Chapter 4 : Quest

'so this time... instead of taking my time... I need to hurry up and finish it quickly.'

is my plan for this life. 

'but for now...'

I have to finish this explanation thing quickly before I started.

"Hey, Affa."

(Yes, sir.)

"That quest thing... you say before that i finish 49 per 50 of my quest... so why it went to 51 now?"

(ah... about that, your main quest for the 50th is the Revenge quest... but as an encouragement for you, the system had made a bonus quest that related to the main one with a clue as a reward)

"so it's just an encouragement... and that question mark thing is the reward and a clue, huh..."

The thing that I saw at the bottom of the quest window explanation,

[Reward: ???]

That must be a clue that the quest talking about. But Affa then says something else to my murmur.

(it may be a clue and maybe a solution itself!!)

'hoh... that's quite tempting...'

Because if it's really a solution itself, then, that quest for revenge would be easier. Just, from that, it makes me think, just why would the system give such an easier way out?

"This system... it's really not like in the novel or manhwa huh?"

(Do you mean, the thing where the system gives a hard time for their player something?)

"yes, I thought for sure you two will be like that. So this is kind of weird."

The system left me a dot, didn't know what to say to me.

While Affa just went on to say,

(well... we don't know too... the universe told us to give out as much information as we can aside from what we don't know, so... even if you are suspicious of us, there's nothing we could do.)

"right... i get it. Let's forget bout that quest thing... I will settle it myself. "

(then.. can I explain other things next? to finish the tutorial?)

"go ahead."

Gesture me as I lazily plop down on the couch. I felt tired to sit up, so listening while lying down is good too.

(Alright... i think you do know most of the things, so for now, I will explain your skill first.)

For Dhaffa's skill, I already know most of it but as Affa's duty is to explain it, I just let him be. And besides, he might know more about it than me, so, it's worth hearing.

There are two for now. The first one is the World blueprint.

It's the skill that allowed me to see the world like a blueprint through my eyes. The problem with this skill is, it's a passive skill that is active all the time. I might be able to suppress it somehow one day, but with my level right now, it's impossible was what Affa says.

(I think went you reach level 65-75, you will be able to stop it.)

The world thru these eyes is naked. For example, when I was on the stairs, usually when we look down the stairs, we only see the stair, right? however, with this skill, you will even be able to see the thing below that stair and even below that too. 

So, for someone with a fear of heights, this power might cause them to feel like they were standing on the glass floor from 99 floors of a high rises building.

'huu... that's quite scary...'

Because although I was someone who could climb a high building, to be honest, there's a limit to it. If that building that I climbed was too high, I might think something along the line of 'Nah, let's turn back now.'.

Even then, in my vision, I didn't see things like Affa described. Maybe because of the special glasses I'm wearing right now. To confirm whether my ability is working or not, I have done some preliminary tests. And it worked but was useless after I put the glasses back on.

It's the skill that allows me to turn everything into 'gold'. It means, everything I do will work out. Like if i build something, that something will sure work out even from scrap. Thru that skill also, i could understand the things that I hold. Like if I hold a camera in my hand, I can understand everything about it. From how it is built, to what items are used to produce it and so on.

By the way, the spectacle I wear is one of the original Dhaffa's own production. That explains why my sight is not affected by my World BLueprint skill while wearing this.

"It's like a dwarf skill then..."

(yes, though it's on a different level than them.)

Claim Affa proudly. His expression looks so smug, like everything thanks to him. My eyes narrow before piercing his thick skin, and he who realises my gaze quickly proceeds to explain next.

"wait... what is that question mark? is it something like I will able view it after level up thing?"

(ah yes, sir. You will only be able to see it then)

I nodded my head understanding. Affa continued all his explanations to me about the power of my UnEd soul.

From all the explanations including about my students. I started to understand why the system was so lazy to show all my stats. Everything stems from the power of my soul.

"aren't I too powerful then? Why are you giving me all this cheating? This doesn't make sense!!"

I questioned Affa and the system. My eyes glare at them like a dagger. This all looks so suspicious. I try to ignore it at first, even so, power without demerit is unreasonable.

Aren't we all already too familiar with the term, with huge power comes huge responsibility.

"It's absurd if there's nothing that the system received in return for all this op power!! are you taking me for a fool!?"

Shout me towards Affa who now flinched and stiffened. Even the system went quiet. They must know why I act this way.

"Hey, Affa..."

I spoke slowly, with a deep voice and intonation that left a chill down the spine, straight to Affa's ears. 

Affa avoids my gaze.

"Don't freaking bullsh*t me... and tell straight to my face. What kind of sh*tting thing are you and the system or whatever Universe trying to make me do!?"

I began to raise my voice the longer I spoke. And sound more and more threatening.

"There's no way the ending would be just me seeking revenge!!! if you were in my position, would you believe that!??"

I give him my logical reasoning why questioning this. But when Affa and the System don't seem to respond. I was left with no choice.

"Should I just mess up the whole thing?"

Only then did Affa turn towards me with a shocked expression and wide eyes. The system also responds.

[!!!-]

Following this rhythm, I continued.

"Huh?? Let's forget the whole thing and I should just live my life, should I?"

(....)

"I should just didn't care about this whole level-up thing, right?-"

Before I could continue more,

The system suddenly intervenes.

[A New Quest Arrived]

My eyes narrow at it.

'A new quest out of nowhere?'

My eyes then move to the title.

[Quest 'Save The Worlds']

From the title itself, it sounds really difficult and more importantly, it looks different from the usual quest. I then read the details of it.

[The old earth was in a state of emergency. Although humans defended it well at first and the time of stability came. In the background, it is slowly dying.]

[You the bearer of UnEd soul currently were on the New Earth. Your task is to level up to the point you were able to wield the ultimate power and with it, save the worlds!!!]

[Requirement: Level Max, World Save]

[Time Limit: 15 years]

[Fail Penalty: Worlds Perished]

[Rewards: The Truth]

The rewards given, 'the truth' caught my attention. It's telling me that if I want to know the truth about why I was chosen for this, I need to save the world first.

'hah, isn't the stakes too high?'

it's not an exaggeration to say that saving the world is too high a price to gamble for only gaining that much.

The time limit is 15 years. It's not that long but not that short either. Because I already live for 60 years, adding only 15 years to that time is quite satisfying for me.

Even if the world collapse after that, there's no demerit for someone like me that had live quite a long tiring life. I can just use this remaining time on earth to just had fun and do whatever I want.

and so, why should I care about this?

Why should I drag my heavy body between two worlds to just save such stupid humans?

Even the Universe itself has stated that the earth was dying in the background. As someone who had lived long in there, there's no way I won't know why. And I bet even the other human will realise why.

isn't all of that caused by human greed itself? they were the causes of it even if that system didn't state it.

From age ago it's always been like that. Human is the cause of every havoc in the world.

Not even grateful for what was given to them, they keep on dragging the world to perish.

'tsk, even when i think about it, it's already making my inside boil!!'

And now because of them, I too have been tasked with saving the world.

does that even make sense!?
