Ariana's jaw dropped.

Her mind reeled as she watched how the manager treated Ethan with such respect.

How?

How could this worthless ex-son-in-law have that kind of pull?

He must have used some dirty trick to pretend to be some big shot!

As Mr. Cruz gestured for Ethan to enter, Ariana lunged forward, her designer heels screeching against the marble.

"Stop!" Her shrill voice echoed through the lobby. "Mr Cruz, that man is nothing—a parasite my daughter just kicked out of our family!" She stabbed a manicured finger at Ethan. "He’s probably conned you with some sob story!"

Cruz frowned, glaring at her, trying to silence this stupid woman.

But Ariana didn’t stop. "Mr. Cruz, surely a smart man like you wouldn’t be fooled by this street rat, would you?"

The lobby staff gasped.

She smirked, now ready to step into the restaurant, believing she had already exposed Ethan’s trick.

She was so confident. Because her future son-in-law, Victor, was a platinum member at this restaurant—the highest level of membership.

Even Cruz would have to be respectful to him.

Ethan merely sneered, not even bothering to retort.

Just as she was about to enter, Cruz’s sharp voice rang out again.

"What are you doing? Who told you to go in? "

"What do you mean by that?" Ariana glared at Cruz, her tone icy."My future son-in-law is a platinum member! You have no right to stop me from entering! "

"You are not allowed to enter. One more word, I’ll revoke his membership too!"Cruz snapped.

"I—"

Ariana was taken aback by Mr. Cruz’s sudden words, feeling utterly bewildered.

Seeing that his threat had worked, Mr. Cruz no longer hesitated. He immediately turned to Ethan, smiling broadly.

"Mr. Cross, please, go right ahead!"

"Mr. Steele has been waiting for you inside!"

"Okay."

Ethan nodded and followed Cruz into the restaurant.

As she watched Ethan walk confidently past her and into the restaurant, Ariana’s anger nearly boiled over!

What was going on?

How was this possible?

Ethan was nothing more than a useless, dependent parasite—why was he allowed to waltz into the Golden Palace, while she wasn’t?

The fury surged in her heart like a tidal wave.

Without hesitation, Ariana immediately dialed her daughter’s number.

"Sweetie, you have to help me out, no matter what!"

Hearing the somewhat tearful voice of her mother on the phone, Serena’s expression changed immediately, her face filled with concern.

"Mom, what happened? Tell me, I’ll make sure someone takes care of this for you!"

Finally hearing her daughter’s support, Ariana’s face relaxed into a relieved smile.

Without wasting any time, she told Serena everything that had happened.

After hearing the details, Serena’s face darkened.

"Mom! You’re saying Ethan, that useless trash, somehow used some unknown method to follow you here, and now he’s walked right in?"

"Exactly!"

Ariana nodded heavily. "Not only that, he even teamed up with the so-called manager of Golden Palace and threatened to cancel Victor’s platinum membership!"

"Sweetie! Ethan has gone too far! This isn’t just about embarrassing you and me—it’s about embarrassing Victor!"

Listening to her mother’s words, Serena’s face grew even darker.

She had to admit, her mother was right.

What Ethan was doing now was completely slapping Victor in the face.

"Mom! Don’t worry, Victor’s right here with me. I’ll tell him everything right now!"

"Good! I’ll be waiting for your call!"

After getting her daughter’s confirmation, Ariana smiled and hung up the phone.

She was confident that with Victor’s help, she would definitely be able to get into the Golden Palace restaurant.

"Victor! You heard the call, my mom—"

Serena looked at Victor with a pitiful expression and said, "Not only did they refuse to let my mom in, but they even threatened to cancel your platinum membership!"

"This is outrageous! They’re not even showing you respect!"

Hearing this, Victor’s face grew dark and filled with anger.

Not only did it embarrass his future mother-in-law Ariana, but it also made him lose face.

Victor’s expression immediately turned serious.

"Don’t worry, Serena! The manager of Golden Palace is a good friend of mine. I just have to make a call, and he’ll let your mom in!"He spoke with confidence.

"Wait here, I’ll call Mr. Cruz right now."

With that, Victor quickly moved aside, took out his phone, and dialed Mr. Cruz.

Soon, the phone was answered, and Victor, with a tone full of ingratiation, said, "Hello! Mr. Cruz, I heard you refused to let—"

Before he could finish his sentence, Mr. Cruz cut him off with a clearly impatient voice.

"Victor! If you want to get yourself into trouble, that’s fine, but don’t drag me into it! Do you know what your so-called mother-in-law was doing just now?"

"She nearly ruined a big deal for Mr. Steele and Lord Dante!"

What!?

The moment these words were said, Victor’s expression changed drastically.

Mr. Steele!?

And Lord Dante??

Victor knew these names very well—these two were legends in Clouddale, towering figures who everyone else could only look up to.

"What… what’s going on? Mr. Cruz, can you explain?"

Victor was both shocked and curious.

What was going on here? Why were Blake, the head of the Black Dragon Guild, and Dante, the leader of the Blackgold Consortium, involved?

Could this mean something major was happening in Clouddale?

Seeing Victor’s reaction, Cruz couldn’t help but sneer.

"Hmph! Mr. Steele and Lord Dante are both here to host a dinner for a big shot!"

"A big shot that even Mr. Steele and Lord Dante can only look up to!"
