Chapter 6

After Cruz finished speaking, Victor’s expression immediately shifted.

A person who could even be looked up to by Mr. Steele or Dante?

Who exactly was this big shot?

Cruz continued, “Do you know that your so-called mother-in-law, Ariana, has been disrupting the order of our restaurant?”

“If this ends up irritating that important guest, are you prepared to face the consequences?”

Cruz’s final words were like a heavy blow, landing hard on Victor’s chest.

Immediately, Victor’s face drained of color, and his breathing became rapid.

"Mr. Cruz, I… I’ll speak with my future mother-in-law about this. Please, could you speak to that guest on our behalf? Hopefully, they'll be understanding, and this can be resolved..."

“Enough!”

Before Victor could finish, Cruz impatiently cut him off and hung up the phone.

Victor’s face darkened, his anger growing.

Dammit! Ariana’s a fool!

Seeing this, Serena immediately looked at Victor with concern and asked anxiously, “Victor, what’s going on? What happened with my mom...?”

“Hmph! What do you think happened? It’s because of your mother! She nearly ruined everything for me!”

Victor sneered, his voice dripping with frustration.

Serena’s face immediately turned pale at his words.

Her mother?

How?

But then after hearing Victor explained the full situation, she became even more shocked.

She never imagined her mother could have angered such an important figure.

She immediately picked up the phone and called her mom without delay.

“Hello, sweetie, how did things go...?”

“Mom, stop right there! This isn’t just any regular situation. A major figure has arrived at the Golden Palace! It’s best if you just head home now before causing more trouble.”

“What? Go home?”

Ariana’s face immediately turned anxious.

“No! What does it matter that there’s a big shot here? Someone like Ethan was even able to get in, so why can’t I? Sweetheart, talk to Victor, figure something out!”

Ariana’s frustration was clear.

“I…”

Serena tried to respond, but before she could continue, Victor grabbed the phone from her, his anger palpable as he coldly barked into the receiver.

“Ariana! Do you have any idea who this important person is? If you really anger him, it won’t just be the Blackwell family affected, but even the Drake family might suffer too!”

“I’m telling you, if you want to dig your own grave, go ahead! But don’t drag me into this!”

With that, Victor slammed the phone down with a furious expression.

Was Ariana out of her mind?

Did she really think she could make him bring her into the restaurant? Didn’t she realize that even he wasn’t sure he could meet such a big shot?

On the other end, Ariana realized the gravity of the situation. After thinking for a moment, she finally decided to give up for now.  

“Hmph! Ethan’s just a piece of trash. Even if he could get into this fancy restaurant, what does it matter?”

“Once my daughter signs the contract with the Blackgold Consortium, they’ll regret it!”

With that, Ariana reluctantly left the Golden Palace.

At the same time, after her mother had left, Serena sighed in relief.

She was genuinely afraid her mother’s actions might have upset the important guest and jeopardized her newly secured deal with the Blackgold Consortium.

Now that her mother had left, it meant the temporary danger had passed.

At the same time, Serena felt an intense thrill.

Dante, the head of Black Gold Consortium, and Blake, the head of the top business association in Clouddale, were both here!

This was something that made her heart race with excitement!

Not long ago, Serena never would have imagined she’d be sharing the same space with such big shots.

"By the way, Victor, do you know who this guest Mr. Dante and Mr. Steele are hosting?"

After the brief excitement, Serena suddenly seemed to remember something, her face taking on a serious expression as she looked at Victor.

“No idea.”

Victor shrugged helplessly. Like Serena, he too was extremely curious.

Who was this person?

Someone who could make both Dante and Blake treat him with such reverence?

When did Clouddale acquire such a big shot?

At the same time, while Victor and Serena speculated about this important guest, on the top floor of the Golden Palace.

Dante and Blake were both waiting respectfully for quite some time.

As soon as Ethan arrived, the two men greeted him with utmost respect, their voices filled with deference.

“Master, we are honored to welcome you!”

“Mm.”

Ethan gave a slight nod, his gaze calm as he looked at Blake.

“I heard from Dante that you’ve gathered some information about my mother?”

“Yes!”

Blake, standing before Ethan, immediately reported the information he had discovered.

“Master, based on our investigation, it seems your mother’s death might not have been an accident.”

Ethan’s face instantly darkened.

As expected, he had a feeling that the death of her mother was far more complicated than it seemed. He would make sure to find the person responsible for his mother’s death!

“ What have you found?” He asked coldly, his gaze intense as he looked at Blake

“W-well... we haven’t been able to determine exactly who was behind your mother’s assassination yet.”Blake replied cautiously, his forehead glistening with sweat as he spoke.

Ethan’s eyes turned cold as he glared at Blake, his gaze sharp enough to cut.

“But... I did find a lead!”

Blake stammered, and his voice trembled.

Ethan’s cold eyes narrowed, and he spoke slowly but with intensity.

“Speak.”
