The world around him seemed to have crumbled immediately as he continued to stare at the one that he thought he loved so much.
But even though his heart ached, he had to make out his words.
"So this is what you have been looking for. A way to push me away from your life so that you will have all the time in the world to cheat right." There was pain in Austin's heart as he spoke the words to her
For a moment, Ariel was stunned not because she caught her husband cheating on her but because she thought that she was already out of the house already
"What is he still doing here? I thought that he took the money already and signed the documents?" Her gaze moved swiftly towards her mother without placing her gaze on him even for a single moment.
"Well, you should know the punk better than I do. He has refused to sign until you spit the words in his face. Now that you are here, I guess that would be a lot easier." Ariel replied accompanied by a long hiss from her mouth.
For the first time since she walked into the place, she turned towards him staring right into his eyes.
"Why have you refused to sign it?" She inquired staring right into his eyes without even a single trace of love in her eyes.
"Why are you doing this?" Was the only word that he could spit out from his mouth.
"Is it because of him?" He inquired without spinning his head even for a single moment.
"It's because of nobody Austin. I just got the promotion that I had always wanted and you are no longer good for me.
Just imagine the same embarrassment that it's going to bring to me announcing someone like you to the vast world.
I need a real man and that man I am looking for I have gotten in Luther." She replied.
To make him a little bit jealous, the stranger walked over to him slowly and kissed her on her neck.
Even though Ariel was not by any means comfortable with what he was doing, she succumbed to it just because he wanted her to sign the papers as soon as possible.
Staring right into her eyes and watching them in their little love play brought back memories of the past rushing swiftly through his head. They met as a couple right after he was pushed into the world by his wealthy family.
Then, they were just an average family seeking a means to survive and nothing other than that.
He helped them start their business from the money that he got from a friend and after that, they have been heels over him.
During that short period, they treated him with so much fear and respect but as time gradually slipped away, they began to treat him like. But that was until their family business met with a sudden boom. They began to treat him like nothing other than thrash.
His mother in law chased him away from the place into the public to get a job and Ariel gradually began to distance herself from him, not wanting to have anything to do with him.
He did not lose his wife just now, he lost her a long time ago.
"The three million naira check is the money that you gave to us and even more. You can use it to start a life for yourself, maybe you will be successful." She replied.
His eyes skimmed through the paper on the table and she returned her gaze to her.
There was certainly no place for him anymore in that heart of hers and there was no essence clinging on to someone that no longer loved him, that would no longer be love, it would be obsession.
"Take the money already. And get yourself a drink or two." Henry shot the words at him with a dark grin hovering on his face.
Instead, Austin shot a deadly stare at him.
Pushing back the check over to her he said.
"I don't need your money. I don't need your money. Where is the pen?" He Inquired staring right into her eyes.
Without any form of hesitation, she tossed a pen over to him without pushing a single step from where she was standing.
The pen lay on the floor as he went for it and signed the documents swiftly.
"Here. This is what you have always wanted. I have signed the Divorce agreement. When is the final date?" He inquired further but before he could even get to finish spitting out the words from his mouth, she went ahead to answer his questions.
"Twin lecture pavilion. Two PM. Don't be late." She replied, turning around almost immediately.
"Finally. He will get out of our lives already." He could see his mother-in-law rejoicing but he did not care even for a single moment.
Staring at the edge of the place, he could already see that his things were ready for it to be to leave the place.
He walked towards his bag, getting it away from where it lay, and walked away from the place.
While Rose watched him walk away from the place, it was as though a part of him was being pulled away from her
But she tried as much as she could not to show it.
"This is the greatest decision that I can ever make." She said to herself clutching her hands tightly while he walked away from the place.
He could feel his heart beating hard against his chest as though it was going to burst through.
While he continued to walk in the vast street, his phone made a beeping sound.
He was way too weak to get his cell phone from his pocket but it continued to beep until he was forced to take it out of his pocket.
Austin reached out to it and saw it as an opportunity to rest his bones. His eyes skimmed through the contact only to notice that it was David, his best friend."Why is he calling?" He could not help but Inquire in his head.
"It's over Austin, you don't have to do all those odd jobs anymore." The voice at the other end was over joyous, getting him even more confused than he was already.
"What are you talking about?" Confusion flooded his head.
"I overheard them at the family's meeting yesterday. They wanted you back." He heard him saying, making him chuckle.
"Do you think that I am going to fall for your pranks once again? I was told that I would have to be at this for Seven straight years. It's been barely four years now."
"Well, I don't know but that's what I heard too." He replied.
"If you think that I am lying, your father is going to reach out to you soon." He finalized.
At the end of the call, he could already feel his heart beating hard against his chest and thought but was going to burst through.
Immediately after he turned eighteen, he thought that his life was going to change for the better but it turned out that he was wrong.
He was rounded up by the family members, mainly his uncle, grandfather and father and his father was more like a puppet in the meeting.
They wanted to send him away from the family to lead a normal life like everyone out there but the idea didn't sit well with him.
"It's the family policy for every heir so that they will find out the truth of the world. We don't want to hand over the company to a spoiled heir." He could still hear the stale words of his uncle streaming into his hearings.
But now they suddenly want him back when it wasn't even time yet?
"I can't fall for that." He said under his breath as he continued to mop the floor.
Soon he was done and was already heading home, trekking as he usually does when his phone made a beeping sound.
"I wonder what it is against this time." He thought in his head confused.
He noticed that it was his father and he picked up the phone immediately.
"Hey, Dad." He greeted swiftly with the confusion flooding his mind.
"Hey, son. How are you doing?" He inquired.
"I'm fine. Is there a problem? Your voice seems a little bit tense." He could not help but notice the tension in his voice.
"The thing is the family wants you back to take over the company." He replied but that only got him even more confused than he was already.
"So Ramsey wasn't lying." He said under his breath.
"But why so suddenly."
"I know soon that this wasn't what was bargained for but a lot of things came up that we can't talk about over the phone. I will send you a location where we will meet up.
In the meantime, your card is now functional and you are back to be the heir of the family." There was a hint of joy in his voice.
"Thanks, Father. I am glad to be back."
"I'm glad to have you back." He replied and finally ended the call.

"He's headed to South America. That's far away." Christian muttered more like he was talking to himself and still looking at the tab before him, "He's hopping continents, Christian. That's a long way from the mess he made here." Disbelief laced Christian's voice.Saint, that criminal was traveling very far away from his crimes. He was trying very hard to slip further and further away."He's got a mission, Psalms," Christian said, a steely glint entering his eyes. "And we're going to help him complete it."Psalms scoffed. "By letting him waltz off to South America and hoping he spills his guts on some exotic beach? Christian, that's a crazy plan.""Not crazy," Christian corrected, his voice firm. "Risky, yes. But it's the only way to get him. Think about it, Psalms. If we follow him and get close enough to gain his trust, we can get him to talk. He might slip up, and reveal details about other operations, bigger players. Evidence the cops can't ignore."A tense silence rose between the

He'd probably start talking to pigeons again."Ramsey slapped Austin on the back, a booming laugh erupting from his chest. "Yeah, I wouldn't be surprised.
