3. Leon's hands tremble with anger and humiliation. His nose hasn't stopped bleeding, he is in a very sorry state.

Selina and her mother don't care for him, she laughs and points at him.

“Look at this loser! You thought that I would love you happily once I woke up?”

Victoria huffs. “You thought that you had successfully latched your fangs into my family? You are greatly mistaken.”

The door opens, and one of the servants comes in with a file in her hand.

Leon doesn't need a soothsayer to tell him what it is. The divorce papers.

Selina thrusts it forward in his face. “Here, sign it before I change my mind and send you to jail!”

“Hurry, poor boy! People shouldn't even know that my daughter was once married to a loser!”

Leon sniffles and crunches his nose. His mother will be dead in a week if he can't come up with the money for her drugs, but he quickly takes up the pen and signs the divorce papers.

Yes, even Selina and her mother are shocked to see him act so quickly, but they are glad. Now, they have gotten rid of the stupid and useless son-in-law!

“Here, I have signed the papers,” he hands them back to Selina. “After three years of giving you only the best of me, I guess it's all over.”

She grins as she snatches the papers away from him. “Good! That means that I can go ahead and marry my sweet Damien. Soon, his sister will permanently cure me, and we will live very happy lives!”

Leon feels like someone has taken a dagger and driven it into his heart, his nostrils flares, but there is nothing he can do about it.

He loved and took care of a woman who only dumped him to go back to her first love.

“Pack your rags and leave my house, Leon.” Victoria orders him. “And I better not see you close again!”

He turns his neck to look at her.

“What about my parents retirement money–”

“Your adoptive parents were lazy and don't deserve anything from us,” Victoria snorts. “Let your stupid mother join your father in death, I don't care.”

Leon's right hand is behind him, he squeezes it into a fist. Leon promises himself revenge against the Xavier family.

One way or another, he is going to make them pay. He doesn't care if it takes him a thousand years.

He rushes into his room and gets his old backpack. He has just a few changes of clothes, and he tosses them into the bag, and he picks up a small pendant that means the world to him.

The picture of three young girls is so blurry, that he can't see the faces anymore.

These are his sisters, and that's all he knows…

You see, Leon and his parents had an open secret. Leon was adopted.

His mother found him as a toddler, behind a pile of old trash cans, and she took him with her.

She took him to be her miracle child, because they couldn't get a child after being married for years.

Her husband was worried, and suggested that they take Leon to the police, but the men kept whispering to each other, acting suspicious. She feared that they were dirty cops, so she took Leon and ran away.

Her husband gave Leon a clean barb in the bathroom, to keep him protected, and they lived in paranoia for a decade, and finally, they started to live in peace knowing that no one was coming to take their son from them….

His pendant is all he had from his past identity, and the little girls– his adorable sisters– would be grown women by now.

His name is carved into the pendant, and that's the name he was called.

Leon sighs as he puts it over his neck, throws his backpack over his shoulder, and walks out.

Selina and her mother are waiting for him outside, but they are not alone.

Leon's jaw tightens when he sets his eyes on the man that has ruined his life. Damien Shankly.

Damien Shankly and Selina are making out against the wall, throwing glances at him and laughs in his face.

“Leave faster, loser!” Damien shouts. “You are stinking up this place with your loser attitude!”

When they get to Love hearts hospital's parking lot, Helen turns off the car. “I can't thank you enough, Miss Shankly.” Leon bows. “Thank you for saving my life today. I owe you.” Helen's hands tighten around the wheel. “You don't have to thank me for anything, Leon. This is what big sisters do. Just promise me one thing, okay?” Leon shifts on his seat. “Sure, Miss Shankly. I will do anything you want.” She rolls her eyes. “I want you to first of all, stop calling me ma'am, Miss Shankly, all of that! I might be someone important to everyone else, but I am just your big sister, okay?” Leon snickers. “Alright. What's the second?” She turns to make sure that she is looking him in the eyes. “I want you to promise that you will call me if you need anything. Okay?” Anything? Leon feels a tight pain behind his throat. He needs some money to handle his mother's hospital bill immediately, but he can't bring himself to ask his sister. His adoptive parents didn't bring him up to take

Leon has never felt this beaten down by life. Not when his adoptive father died, not when Selina practically spat in his face. A few drops of tears roll down his cheeks as he realizes that his mother is about to slip out of his hands. He has lost his biological mother, he won't lose his adoptive mother too. Not even the devil will be able to take her away from him. He wipes his eyes with the back of his left hand and lifts the phone back to his ear. “Listen to me, mum. You are not going to die. I am going to get the money right now, and you will get the treatment.” He assures her. His mother chuckles painfully at the other side. “My poor boy, don't you understand? Mrs Xavier cancelled it a few weeks before, and has been giving us fake cheques. That means that I have exhausted any chance to get treatments on loan. I have to pay that off, before they even consider giving me a bed.” “I will get the money!” Loen quickly declares, surprising himself. “Hold on for me, I will be ther

Helen Shankly's car is the nicest that Leon has ever rode in his life. He is not used to the cool conditioning, so he runs his hands against each other. Helen faces wrinkles with amusement. “Do you want us to turn the air conditioning off?” Leon sniffs with embarrassment. “No, it's fine. I'm just reacting from the medicine.” She nods with understanding. “I understand that you are still recovering, and all, but I just want you to visit our family home. Do you know that mum gave birth to you right in our mansion? Dad hired the best doctors to make the birth safe for both of you.” She says. Leon forces a smile, even though it feels so awkward for him to be discussing the biological parents that he doesn't even remember their faces. Helen notices it, so she quickly changes the topic, maybe it's not the right time. She brings out her phone and finds a picture that they took, all three of the Shankly sisters. “Here, we are your sisters.” She shows him the picture. “This is me, Helen

Leon feels the crushing weight of all of this heavy on his chest. It's too much information all at once. He has been through so much tragedy in his life, that he can't believe that his fortune has suddenly changed. He doesn't believe that he is Shankly's lost heir. It takes a heavy toll on him, that he finds himself staggering back to the bed, and Helen rushes to help him. “Come on, Leon, please be careful,” she holds onto his arm. “Argh, Miss, please. I don't want to stain your expensive clothes with my blood.” He winces. “Please,” she snorts. “How does that matter when you are my brother?” She performs a few examinations, to know that he is not in any real danger, then she leaves the doctor to administer the rest of the drugs to him. Leon needs help immediately. Not only physically, but in many aspects of his life. Thinking about all the trauma he has experienced in his life, she finds herself at the very brink of tears. Helen is a doctor, she has a deep background in ps

She shifts in her chair, as she prepares her approach. “Mister, can I ask you a question. This mark on your hand, is it a real birthmark or a tattoo?” Leon looks at the star birthmark on his right hand. He used to be fascinated by it, but he never gave it too much of a thought. He smirks as he runs the fingers of his other hand over it. “It's a birthmark. I can't afford a tattoo.” Helen's heart skips a couple of beats, but she maintains her calm with a smile. “I'm going to ask you a question, now. Do you remember your life when you were a toddler?” He shakes his head. “I'm adopted. My parents found me, and took care of a poor orphan like me."“An orphan?” She pulls her eyebrows up. “Yes, ma'am.” Helen breathes in deeply. “Do you know even the slightest details from your life before adoption?” Leon stops to think for a while. “Well, I think I have three sisters, but I am not sure.” Helen's lips quiver with anxiety. “And what's your name, please? Please tell me the truth.”“

Helen Shankly is pacing around the room. Leon has been treated and stabilized. Tests have been run, and she is waiting for the results. She takes out a picture of the twins, and holds it next to Leon's face. They look like siblings, sharing a number of features, even though he is oddly lean for a man his age. She swipes to a picture of her, and all she gets is assurance that this is her brother. The last confirmation for her is getting a picture of her father and when she places it next to his face, her heart stops for a second. This man is her father's twin. She holds her hand over her mouth as she steps away. Her eyes swell with tears, she can't believe this! She takes a picture of the star birthmark on his arm, before she leaves the room. She immediately puts a call through to both of her sisters at the same time. They live abroad , and can't come down, but thankfully, they are all so close that they pick the call immediately. “Hello, big sister.” Doreen yawns. “What's up,

Damien laughs as he kisses her forehead. She is so tough, and he loves her for it. “Don't worry, we will punish Leon Smith soon. We can even throw him into jail, but right now, we have some catching up to do.” She catches the cue. She tosses her phone away, and they both crash against the bed. They are making out heavily, but suddenly, Selina seems to be losing interest. Damien notices this, so he stops for a second. “What's the problem now, my love?” “I can't go back to being unconscious.” She sighs. “I need that drug everyday. How can I get it every day when it's not even out in the market? It's not for sale!” Damien laughs. “Come on, Selina. I'm the heir of the Shankly empire, my sisters won't say no to me. I can get a million of those from my sister, Helen, you don't have to worry.” Her worried face breaks into a smile. She snakes her hands around him. “That's why I love you so much. I've missed you!” ****Leon can barely see, because Damien hit him severally in his eyes.

    4. This has got to be the most humiliating day of his life. He watches all the servants stare at him with pity. He is still shaking, because he has not eaten anything for more than a few days, and he just got the beating of his life. He is holding his hand over his stomach, as he looks at his precious pendant in Damien's hand. Why isn't he giving it back? Selina smirks by the side. “This is your apology? I don't think that it came from your heart. You will kneel right where you are for the next five hours, and that's the only way you will be forgiven.”Leon heaves as he looks from one person to the other. Finally, he looks up to the grey sky. “But it's about to rain any moment from now. I am going to get sick from the cold.” Selina looks at him from his head to his toes. “And what has that got to do with me? Get down on your knees, or you will regret disobeying me.” With that, she gives Damien another kiss and seductively walks away. “I'm just going to take a shower, babe. You

“Don't worry, I have already signed the divorce papers.” Leon says to him. “Good!” Damien chuckles. “And I don't want you to ever come back here to beg for my wife's love!” This last statement angers Leon because how can this man call Selina his wife when it was Leon that nursed and took care of her for three years?!“Your wife?!” Leon throws his bag down. “Are you dead ass right now?! I was the one who nursed her back to this state for three years, while you ran away like a fucking coward!” Damien smirks and pushes his hair away from his face. “Well, it's not your sister that made the miracle drug that has given her back her consciousness for the first time in three years.” He tells him. “Don't ever compare me to your useless self, you stupid boy.” “Fuck you.” Leon yells at him. “You are never going to be a real man! You will never be Selina's true husband!” Leon is so upset that he couldn't stop himself. Running his mouth makes Damien boil with rage, and this makes him give Le
