“Don't worry, I have already signed the divorce papers.” Leon says to him.

“Good!” Damien chuckles. “And I don't want you to ever come back here to beg for my wife's love!”

This last statement angers Leon because how can this man call Selina his wife when it was Leon that nursed and took care of her for three years?!

“Your wife?!” Leon throws his bag down. “Are you dead ass right now?! I was the one who nursed her back to this state for three years, while you ran away like a fucking coward!”

Damien smirks and pushes his hair away from his face.

“Well, it's not your sister that made the miracle drug that has given her back her consciousness for the first time in three years.” He tells him. “Don't ever compare me to your useless self, you stupid boy.”

“Fuck you.” Leon yells at him. “You are never going to be a real man! You will never be Selina's true husband!”

Leon is so upset that he couldn't stop himself. Running his mouth makes Damien boil with rage, and this makes him give Leon a powerful kick in his chest.

“Uhhh!” Leon projects into the air, before falling painfully on his side.

Leon feels a crushing pain run through his body, he can't stand up.

Damien comes over to him and looks him in the face. “You dare insult me, boy?”

He stomps Leon in his face over and over again. It's gut wrenching, even Selina feels like she wants to throw up because of the bloody sight.

Leon is too weak to defend himself, and it's not because he is a weak coward, it's because he has been starved by the Xavier family for so long that he can't fight. He is too weak and underfed.

His malnourished hands are held up to shield his face, but not a single part of his body is spared from this assault.

When Damien is done with Leon, he can barely move on the ground, as the pulsating pain moves around his body.

Damien chuckles wickedly to himself, he then goes over to spit on Leon in the face.

“Stupid boy. Next time you should know how to speak to the heir of the Shankly family. My sisters would have you killed for this if I tell them!”

Selina and her mother laughs and clap their hands for Damien. Even though all the servants look horrified by what they have seen.

To them, Damien has proven himself to be the strongest man, by beating Leon up. He will be the best husband.

Selina rushes and gives him a big kiss. “My strong white knight. Look how you have disciplined that bastard boy!”

“I have recorded the video of this!” Victoria boasts. “I will post it on my social media.”

“Yes, Mrs Xavier. The entire world needs to see how much of a fool Leon Smith is.” He glares at him.

Leon is barely moving, but Damien is not done, he goes over to him and snatches off the necklace from his neck.

Leon gathers the last of his strength to beg this wicked man. “Please, no. Take anything you want, beat and spit on me again, but don't take my pendant.”

Damien laughs and holds it up. “This cheap thing? Yeah, I'm going to flush it down my toilet. It's not worth more than a pebble.”

But Leon won't lose the only thing connecting him to his biological family. He manages to stand up and limps towards Damien.

“Mister Shankly, that pendant means a lot to me. I would rather die than allow you to leave with it.”

Damien tilts his head. “I didn't beat you hard enough the first time? Do not worry, I will kill you this time around!”

Leon doesn't care, he is ready to die for his pendant, so he holds his shaking hands up, ready to swing.

Selina won't look at this anymore, she walks over to Leon and gives him a slap on his bloodied face.

“Have you lost your freaking mind?! Damien is a black belt, he is going to break every bone in your body! You have embarrassed my family and my future husband, Mister Damien. You just bow very deeply now and apologize.”

Leon is flabbergasted. “Excuse me? Didn't you see all that he did to me?”

“And you deserved every bit of it!” She rolls her eyes. “Hurry and apologize to the heir of the Shankly family, now!”

Victoria nods in agreement. “If you prove to be stubborn, Leon, then there won't ever be a chance for me to continue to pay your mother's medical bills. Apologize right now, or your precious mother dies.”

Leon feels a defeated feeling in his chest. He hates to admit it, but he needs the Xavier family's money.

He wants to stand his ground and say that he is the victim of this situation, but his mother… he can't risk her life.

So, even though he hates himself for this, he bows very deeply to Damien Shankly.

“My apologies, Mister Shankly. I should have behaved more respectfully towards you.”
