They came down from the car and stood in front of the building. Fred took out his cellphone and went to the group chat as he dropped a message that he had arrived at the location with Victor. The COP replied that he should wait there with Victor, that a man will come and meet up with them, and that after the man arrives, Fred should leave the place.

“Sir, are we going to go inside?” Victor asked curiously, staring at Fred.

“Let’s wait for a bit; I am requesting backup just in case,” Fred answered. Victor nodded as he turned to look at the building. Suddenly he saw a tall man coming out of the building, and as the man got closer, he realized that it was Duke.

“Officer, that’s the man! Arrest him!” Victor yelled as he looked at Fred.

From the way Victor reacted, Fred realized that it was indeed the man who assaulted him. He wondered why the COP would want him to take Victor to a man who might probably harm Victor, but he didn’t want to lose his job or do anything that might offend the COP as he turned around and dashed towards his car.

“What the hell is going no!” Victor screamed as he froze. He couldn’t believe that Fred ran, and he wondered why Fred would run away after being the one who wanted to come and arrest Duke. Before Victor knew what was happening, Duke grabbed him from behind and lifted him up from the ground.

“You think you are clever, right?” Duke carried Victor into the building slowly.

“Please let me go!” Victor screamed; his heart was beating fast.

“I can’t do that,” Duke replied as he dropped Victor on top of an iron chair that had ropes all over the body. He tied Victor’s hands and legs to the chair as Victor kept screaming for help.

“Shut your stupid mouth up!” Duke yelled as he slapped Victor across the mouth.

“We are in an abandoned building; nobody is going to hear you,” Duke said softly as he bent down to look into Victor’s eyes. He saw the fear in his eyes.

“You know, since you kicked me in the balls and ran away, I have been thinking about how I am going to beat you until you have no more life left in you. But I can’t do that; the boss lady won’t be happy about that; she just wants me to beat you up and let you go. Hahaha, can you believe that?” Duke stood up.

“Please, don’t do anything to me; you are going to regret it. The police are going to swarm this place any moment from now. The officer that ran away went to get more backup. If you let me go and don’t do anything to me, I won’t press charges against you,” Victor replied. He hoped that after hearing all this, Duke would let him go. Although he didn’t understand why Fred ran away and left him with Duke, he thought that Fred might have just run away to go and get backup.

“Hahahaha!” Duke laughed at the top of his lungs; he couldn’t believe what he was hearing.

“Huh?” Victor’s mouth was wide open. He wondered what was so funny that was making Duke laugh so much. It wasn’t the reaction that he expected from him; he had expected that Duke would have been scared and let him go.

“What’s so funny?” Victor asked in a low tone.

“I can’t believe you haven’t figured out that the police that brought you here work for my boss; it was not a coincidence that he brought you here to me and ran away. The police can’t do anything to me; they work for my boss. You are fucked; even if you were to go to the police after I let you go, you won’t be able to press charges against me or do anything at all,” Duke responded.

Victor’s eyes opened wide. It all started to make sense to him now: how Fred ran and left him there, how there was no other police with them, how there was no backup. He would have never thought that a police officer would just give him out to a criminal in this way. But all this left him to wonder who Duke was and who Duke was working for.

‘Who did I anger that is this powerful in the city? Who would set me up like this? I hope this is not the day I die. I can’t believe after I started having some hope in life, something like this wants to happen to me’ Victor thought,

"Now, Victor, it’s time for you to get the beating of your life,” Duke said as he removed a black sock from his leg, folded it, and stuffed it in Victor’s mouth.

“Hmmm! Hmmm!” Victor mumbled as tears started dripping down his eyes.

“Don’t take anything I do personally, okay? I am just following orders,” Duke said sarcastically as he started punching Victor in the stomach repeatedly.

Victor started coughing out blood. Duke stopped hitting him as he looked at him. “On second thought, this is for kicking me in the balls!” Duke yelled as he gave Victor a swift punch in the chest.

“Ahhh!” Victor yelled as he vomited blood that spilled across the floor.

“That serves you right,” Duke said with a smirk. His cellphone beeped as he took it out and saw a text message from Tacha. He read through it. “Where are you now? Have you started beating him yet?” She asked. He wanted to reply to her, but he thought that it would be better to send her a picture of Victor instead, as he took a picture of Victor’s face that was covered in blood and texted it to her.

Tacha was sitting on the couch further away from the other girls, tapping her left foot on the floor. She was waiting for a reply from Duke. As her phone beeped, she swiftly opened it and saw a picture of Victor covered in blood. “Oh my gosh!” She screamed as she used her hand to cover her mouth. Natalie and the other girls turned to look at her. “What happened?”

“It’s nothing; it’s just some news that got me a bit excited,” she replied calmly as she turned to look at her phone.

Tacha never intended for Duke to beat him to this stage; she quickly rushed into the hotel restroom and called him. Duke answered the call.

“What the hell are you doing? I told you to beat him up a bit; I didn’t tell you to kill him,” Tacha complained.

“I am sorry, boss lady; I don’t intend on killing him; I was just doing as you said."

“Listen to me carefully; you have done enough; just take him to a hospital and drop him there; I don’t want anything bad to happen to him,” she ordered.

"Okay, boss, I am on it,” he replied as he ended the call.

Duke looked at Victor. “I guess your beating is over; boss lady wants me to leave you; today is your lucky day,” he said as he moved closer to where Victor was sitting and looked into his eyes.

“I am going to untie you; make sure you don’t resist or try to do anything stupid. I want to take you to a hospital. If you try to resist or do anything dumb, I will disregard the boss's order and kill you,” Duke threatened.

Victor was finding it difficult to breathe and was gasping heavily for air. Even if he couldn’t speak properly, he wanted to know the boss that Duke had been talking about. He knew getting revenge might not be immediate, but he still wanted to know with the hope of getting back at the person who did all of this to him.

The police are currently looking for him, but there's been no progress. I happened to overhear a conversation with the principal of the high school and found it suspicious, so I snuck into his office after school hours and hacked into his computer. I know it’s illegal to do that, but I just needed an answer."“I understand, but what did you find after you hacked into his computer?”“Everything is in this drive over here; you can have a look for yourself,” Victor handed the drive to him.Santos placed the drive on the laptop on his desk. He started going through the documents on the drive as his eyes opened wide. “What the hell!” He yelled.“What is it?” Victor wondered why he yelled like that.“There are a co
