Chapter 1, City Rose.

Empire voltrose is one of worlds leading powers, grand and ancient, powerful in its military and magical attainments and its capital city Rose has stood for over a thousand years, the blocks used to build the cities magnificent architecture stands proudly as a testament to its long standing history.

The city looks incredibly identically to 18th to 19th century Europe. Same with the dressing of the passing peasants. The whether in city Rose never changes, always dark, gloomy and wet, “And want to know something else that never changes, it’s the bra size of our very favorite waitress Angel ahhhhhh,”

The perverted young man screamed in horror as he was flung from his sit all the way to the entrance of the broken down tavern.

Everyone glanced at him before looking back at the valiant warrior that flung the rascal like a sack of cotton and suppringly it was a woman, a perfectly well proportioned waitress in a short dress.

“Good throw!!!”. The crowd praised unanimously.

Angel huffed with her dainty arms on her waist. “I swear Elias, one more comment about my chest and I’ll zap you half to death... twice”.

yellow lightning zapped around her raised finger tips as she looked down proudly at him.

Elias blew a strand of hair and crawled back up. “Geese Angel, you almost broke a bone or two with that toss, you really need to treat your son better or I might just leave you when you grow old and useless”.

Angel’s eyes immediately flinched, “If you knew you where my son then maybe you should stop sexually harassing me every god damned hour of the day.

Elias smiled seeing he’s adoptive mother tremble with rage. Angel is a twety nine year old waitress and the fourteen year old Elias is her adopted son, Angel used to be a magical soldier that fought for the empire while Elias was a victim of the horrible war between the world powers.

Later that evening Angel and Elias closed shop. It was a rainy day as usual in city rose, the alleyways where soaked and flooded forcing the poor to endure the moist and sharp chill of the cold wind.

Elias held Angels hands as they slowly walked between the aged and cracked walls of the surrounding buildings, every once in a while Elias will glance at the homeless citizens of this great empire, slowly dying from disease and left with no choice but to let the endless drizzle fall on their heads.

“It wasn’t always like this you know”. Angel softly said after noticing he’s discreet eye motions and dampened mood.

Seeing Elias maintain he’s silence she decided to continue.”The Great War was something the world has never seen before and naturally the effects will still continue to linger for sometime even after it ended, don’t let it get you down”.

“Angel”. Elias called out while looking up at her.

“Hmm”.

“That is the reason why I found you, as horrible as it maybe I still won’t feel sad about being your son”.

Angel felt moved and held Elias closer, “Thank you”.

Elias responded to her affection and they held each other while walking, it was already pretty chilly so Elias didn’t really mind, but he still thought of how much better he would feel if this mother of he’s actually had a chest like the other ladies.

“Why are you smiling, are you thinking of something perverse again”. Angel said with a helpless look on her face.

Elias panicked a bit, worried she would zap him and with how close they are he simply won’t be able to dodge in time. “No I was just thinking of joining the army, I want to fight for the empire like you did Mom”.

Angel’s discontent immediately vanished after hearing Elias call her mother for once. “Very well then, I will put in a word or two for you, your mother was pretty tight with majority of the top dogs in army you know. come to think of it, have I ever told you about the battle in the snowy plains... so there I was my comrades and I trapped in-between two frozen peaks”.

Elias breathed a sigh of relief, Angel always gets fired up when the military is brought up and fighting for the empire had always been her proudest moments, Elias knew about every single one of her adventures and she even took her time to explain in great detail all the powerful enemies she faced and how she defeated them.

And just like that she carried on till they made it to their humble abode, the house wasn’t too big nor was it too small, it simply resembled one of the many buildings in the neighborhood.

As usual Elias immediately got to making dinner while Angel went in to take a bath, the dark clouds covering the whole city added an air of solitude while the empty and damped streets slowly drowned from the ever pouring rain.

Elias skipped from window to window shutting every one of them to prevent the water droplets from making their way into their home, it’s clear that no matter how depressing the city seemed Elias’s cheerful mood will always be on full display for all to see.

Angel walked out of her room at the exact time Elias finished setting up the dining table, they both took a sit at the same time and also began to eat at the exact same time, clearly these events have been memorized after countless days spent together.

All that could be heard at this point were the clicking sounds of spoons and forks, that is until Angel finally broke the silence.

She pulled out a sheet of paper that looked like a form and said without even looking up, “You said you wanted to serve right”.

“Hmm”. Elias answered subconsciously.

“In that case fill this form and I’ll have you immediately enrolled into the academy”.

“Sure”. Elias once more answered subconsciously before taking the form she handed to him, it took him a moment but he finally realized what was happening, Elias’s facial expression twisted, he looked up at Angel only to meet her smirking beautiful face.

Elias always said he wanted to join the army but he never truly meant it, in-fact he only ever says it when Angel is annoyed or angry with him, he didn’t actually think she’ll bring him a form to fill.

“Hehehe, just the look on your face is more than enough as payback for always making fun of my small breast”. Angel secretly thought with an expression that says, you thought I wouldn’t dare.
