Raymond stepped out of the main lobby of Bellevue Hospital. He was only wearing a plain black T-shirt and faded jeans—the only clothes left inside his old backpack. Around him, people hurried past, indifferent to the figure of the young man who had just risen from the brink of death.

The man stopped near the East 26th Street bus stop. He glanced at the bluish bruise on his left wrist from last night’s collision. The cheap watch Chloe gave me is already destroyed, he thought as he curled his lips into a bitter smile filled with irony.

Suddenly, a pitch-black sedan with tinted windows slowed down and stopped right in front of him. The driver’s door opened quickly. A sturdy middle-aged man stepped out with swift movements. The man wore a black suit without any rank insignia, yet the aura of firmness could not be hidden from the lines on his face filled with old scars.

He was Yudha Negara. In this mortal world, he was known as a three-star Pentagon general. However, within the ancient memories that had only awakened seven percent inside Raymond’s mind, Yudha was his loyal commander on the Altar Battlefield thousands of years ago.

Thud!

Ignoring the stares of the people at the bus stop, the great general immediately knelt on one knee on the sidewalk. He lowered his head deeply before Raymond.

“Your servant... Commander Yudha, greets Your Supreme Majesty!” Yudha’s voice trembled as he struggled to contain his emotions after his long search.

Raymond was not surprised. “Rise, Yudha. This is New York, not the Altar Battlefield. There are too many eyes for ancient ceremonies like this.”

Yudha immediately stood upright. His face, usually as cold as ice, was now filled with reverence and restrained fury. “Three years ago, I thought I had lost you forever, Your Majesty. I deliberately established the Altar Logistics network solely to search for your whereabouts. Why... why were you living in such a miserable place in such a frail condition?”

Raymond calmly walked toward the car. Yudha swiftly opened the rear passenger door for him.

“My soul was sealed by Earth’s natural laws, causing me to lose my memories and live as an obedient son-in-law,” Raymond said flatly as he entered the warm cabin of the car. “But last night, a rich bastard named Julian Vance shattered that seal with the front of his car.”

Bang!

Yudha closed the door before immediately sitting behind the steering wheel. Through the rearview mirror, the old general’s eyes glowed red with fury. “Julian Vance? The crown prince of Vance Corporation? Give me two hours, Your Majesty. I’ll deploy troops to flatten their residence and drag that brat’s head before you!”

Raymond leaned his back against the soft leather seat. He stared at his own palm.

“Do not use military force, Yudha. That would be far too cheap for the downfall of such an arrogant dynasty,” Raymond said calmly yet coldly. “They took my dignity using money and mortal power. Therefore, I will destroy them on the very same stage.”

Yudha took a deep breath, suppressing his emotions. “I understand. Then, what are your next orders? Tonight, the Miller family and Vance Corporation will hold an exclusive banquet to celebrate their stock merger.”

Raymond looked out the window, staring at the rows of skyscrapers with eyes as cold as ice. “I need a clean new identity to move around this city. Prepare decent clothes, and let Altar Logistics begin slowly cutting off the Miller family’s business lifeline from behind the scenes.”

“Understood, Your Majesty. All your needs are absolute orders,” Yudha replied as he pressed the gas pedal.

Raymond tapped the glass divider with his index finger, cutting through the silence. “One more thing, Yudha. Starting from this second, keep my true identity completely secret. Not a single person in this world must know who I really am.”

Yudha froze for a moment, staring into the rearview mirror. “But Your Majesty, with your current power—”

“Listen,” Raymond interrupted firmly. “Do not bring up titles like dynasty, ‘Your Majesty,’ or any other ancient honorifics. We live in the modern era now. Speak like ordinary people. If you accidentally address me like that in public, it will only attract the attention of old enemies from the Upper World.”

Hearing that explanation, Yudha immediately realized his carelessness. He swallowed hard before nodding in understanding. “Understood, I-m... I mean, understood, Raymond. I get it. From now on, I’ll call you by your current name. The Altar Logistics network will also seal all of your personal information.”

Raymond crossed his legs, staring out the window with an unreadable gaze. Being disappointed and betrayed by Chloe for three years had instead forged his mentality into something far crueler.

“Good. I need room to move freely without being tied to the status of my past,” Raymond said, his voice lowering with intimidation. “Let my ex-wife and the world believe I’m nothing more than a beggar lucky enough to survive. I want to see how high they climb before they finally fall into the abyss I dig for them.”

Yudha smiled faintly, beginning to understand the emotional tactics his superior was playing. “Understood, Boss. Your new clothes and civilian cover identity will be ready within an hour. After that, the stage of New York will belong entirely to you.”

The steady hum of the heart monitor in the corner of the VIP room at North Sector Hospital sounded at a slow rhythm, breaking the long silence of the night. The spacious room carried the familiar scent of antiseptic and the fragrance of fresh white lilies delivered by the office staff every day. On the bed with clean white sheets, Natalie lay helplessly. Her beautiful face looked so peaceful, although traces of exhaustion still lingered beneath her tightly closed eyelids. An IV line was neatly attached to the back of her right hand, delivering nutritional fluids into her body, which had been unconscious for weeks after suffering severe trauma from a traffic accident. Elena sat on a small chair beside the bed, holding Natalie’s cold fingers. From time to time, the personal assistant wiped the corners of her damp eyes. The burden of managing the company amid uncertainty about her superior’s condition had made Elena’s days feel incredibly heavy. “Natalie... how long are you going

Purple lightning continued to strike relentlessly, casting dazzling flashes across the vast jade floor of the Central Altar. The vibrations from the raging cosmic storm spread all the way to the stone walls beneath the cliff, where Natalie lay in a prolonged slumber. Inside the silent cave, the palace physicians in white robes continued to stand guard beside the stone bed, ensuring that the mortal woman’s physical condition remained stable amid the extraordinary energy fluctuations taking place above them.Far away on the altar’s main platform, Raymond was still maintaining his prostrated position. His broad back endured the gravitational pressure of the Upper Realm, which was several times heavier than the normal pressure of the divine dimension. The mortal shirt he wore was soaked with sweat and stained with drops of blood flowing from his temple.Yet not even for a moment did he loosen his resolve. His hands, gripping the jade floor, were tense, the muscles in his arms bulging visi

The atmosphere across the highest plateau of the Upper Realm’s main altar had transformed into a vast sea of thick, black clouds. Lightning struck repeatedly, splitting the sky with dazzling flashes of violet that were almost blinding, while the storm winds howled violently, scattering fragments of stone and cosmic dust in every direction. Amid the extreme weather that threatened to tear the entire dimension apart, Raymond stood tall without wearing any protection. He no longer cared about the threats posed by his enemies, nor did he pay any attention to the gazes of the gods and elders watching from afar. His thoughts and soul were focused on only one thing: Natalie and their unborn child, who were resting inside the cave beneath the cliff, and the mortal destiny he wanted to fully embrace alongside his wife.Raymond slowly stepped forward toward the center of the altar courtyard—the most sacred place, where the God of War Emperor’s throne stood upon a p

The ancient abyssal wind blew slowly, carrying the remnants of golden vapor that glowed faintly around the walls of the rocky cliffs. Inside a hidden cave far beneath the bottom of the Hall of Honor, the atmosphere was eerily silent and tense. The light from the eternal crystal illuminated Natalie’s figure as she lay peacefully upon a warm jade bed. Her beautiful face still looked pale, the remnants of the shock caused by the fall from a height of thousands of meters still visible in her features. However, her breathing had now returned to normal. The Grand Elder stood beside the bed together with two silver-haired palace physicians. The chief physician had just set down a small porcelain bowl containing shimmering green liquid—a legendary healing potion concocted from the essence of cosmic sunflowers and the tears of an ancient dragon. The potion worked quickly, restoring vitality to Natalie’s mortal body while protecting the fetus she was carrying from the dimensional shock. "H

Murmurs of awe rose from the ranks of elders and war commanders who had witnessed the event. Her hair, which had previously been neatly tied, was now slightly disheveled, while cold sweat dampened her temples. The failure of the Soul Mirror Path Trial had destroyed all her sinister plans in an instant. Within her heart, the burning jealousy had transformed into pure, terrifying hatred. She could not bear to see that mortal woman win and live happily by Raymond’s side.No... This cannot happen! Gwen

  • Chapter 163

The echo of the Grand Elder’s voice still lingered beneath the dome of the Hall of the Council of Honor, leaving a heavy tension between the rows of marble pillars. The nobles and war commanders of the Upper Realm exchanged stiff glances in silence. No one dared to raise another objection after Raymond had firmly declared his oath before the entire council. Natalie stood beside her husband, her fingers still wrapped tightly around Raymond’s shirt sleeve. Her breathing had slowly begun to steady, although the pounding in her chest had not completely subsided. The unfamiliar atmosphere, the sharp gazes of the ancient high-ranking figures, and the invisible waves of energy pressing against the walls of the hall made her head spin. Yet Raymond’s presence beside her provided an anchor of safety that allowed her to endure. “A trial of the soul?” Raymond’s voice broke the silence. His tone was low and calm, yet it carried a firmness ready to overcome any obstacle. “Explain what this trial
