Chapter 8

“Ahh, finally you are awake.” A voice came from the door, Xayn stood up to see the doctor. He was a slim man with a mixture of grey and black hair. 

“Wow, you really are a mystery. From what I see you are a warrior and it looks like you were banged up from the raid.'' The doctor was looking at Xayn like he was some kind of specimen.

“Now my nurses have told me that you are okay and your vitals are all okay, it is strange. I swore that you were all beat up and unconscious.” The doctor was still looking at Xayn like there was something he was hiding under his skin. 

“Is there anything else sir? Am I allowed to leave now?” Xayn was beginning to feel uncomfortable, he was not going to be happy if he was kept in that place any longer. 

“Oh no no, you will be discharged immediately after I take some tests. I know you need to get home to your people.” The doctor looked at Xayn and he was fascinated that there was no scratch but he was sure that Xayn had concussions. 

‘This boy had wounds in his head and he had a lot of internal injuries, how did all that heal and how was he able to wake up from that coma?’ 

The doctor was looking at Xayn, he knew there was no way anyone would be able to survive the hit. But he was healed up to the brim, like there was nothing wrong with him. 

“Well Mr. Xayn, there is nothing wrong with you and you look okay. The warrior association covered your bills and you are free to go.” The doctor was smiling, he knew there was something strange about Xayn that was not clear. 

Xayn got down from the bed. he looked around and asked for his belongings; the doctor showed him where he was going to take his clothes and other belongings. Once Xayn got everything he needed, he didn't waste time to leave the hospital.

‘I spent three days in that place, I don't know how Kira is doing.’ Xayn only had his sister on his mind, he didn't know what he was going to do if anything happened to her. 

Xayn rushed home, he got in and he saw the notices placed on the door. “Kira? Are you here?” Xayn looked around the house and he couldn't see anyone. “Kira! Where are you?” 

“Big brother?” Kira was hiding behind the kitchen counter, apparently she was sleeping when Xayn entered the house. Xayn hearing his sister’s voice, he was relieved that nothing had happened to her. 

“Big brother, where have you been? The landlord said if his money is not ready by tomorrow, he will throw everything out and make sure that we won't see any other place to stay.” 

Kira was sobbing, Xayn knew there was no money and he was not going to go back to the squad after Lucy and Luke tried to kill him. He knew if he did, it would cause more troubles for him. 

“Shh, don't cry, there is nothing going to happen. I will make sure he doesn't have the chance to do anything to us.” Xayn held his sister in his hands trying to calm her down. 

Looking around, Xayn knew there was only one thing to do and he was going to make sure that he makes the best out of it. “Come on now, go get some rest. I will be back soon and I will make sure that when I come back we will be leaving this shit hole.”

“Where are you going?” Kira looked Xayn in the eye, his eyes were cold and unreadable. Xayn looked at his little sister and smiled. 

“I will be back.” Xayn ruffled her hair before turning for the door. His face determined and his eyes darkened, it was like he was going to be doing something crazy. 

“System?” 

System Active… What  is it you want to master? 

“Are there any tasks available?” Xayn was looking serious, he was not about to let anyone kick him out of his home like that. 

I have scanned the area; A mid ranked task appeared to reward 5000 gold coins. Save the school children from the rampaging monster! 

“Wait what? How am I going to get there? It's like I know the place?” Xayn was looking around like he was confused and he wanted to know how he was going to reach the children. 

The System has given you abilities; with each ability you have to embrace your new found power. 

“Alright, Ability check.” Xayn said and another screen popped up in front of him, this one was different from the other one. It had different abilities all listed on it. 

“What in the world is all this? I have speed but it's at level 10? Why is there a thing like this?” Xayn was looking at the screen in disbelief knowing that it shouldn't be possible for him to have such abilities . 

This is the first level of the powers the system gives you, as you proceed you will keep growing in power until you reach the max level. 

Hearing this Xayn braced himself and positioned in the angle that the system had shown him the kids were in. “Okay now, let's do this.” Xayn pushed himself but to his surprise he ran faster than the cars in front of him. 

‘This is level ten speed? If this is level ten then I wonder what it is like in max.’ Xayn was lost in thrill as he got to the location where the accident happened. 

The police had already blocked the area, they were waiting for the warriors to show up and make sure tha they would take down the monster before it would harm the children. 

“Damn it those warriors don't show up when they are needed!”

The police had blocked the area trying to make sure that they would control people before the warriors arrived. 

Suddenly something zoomed past the cops with an intense speed.
