Chapter 46: Change Of Fate.

The Chairman leaned forward but his face couldn’t be seen due to the sun’s light rays that was so strong and was coming into the meeting room through the window that was behind the chairman, making it impossible to see the chairman without glasses.

The chairman, with a deeper voice, asked, “Jay Dick Albion, is this a joke to you?” Hearing the question made Jay’s leg to tremble in fear. Jay almost made up an idea to quit trying and to beg for forgiveness and for his life to be spared but something within him didn’t want to let go of the chance he had.

Jay found courage, from unknown sources and pressed on with his agenda, “No sir, as you can see, this is already a suicide mission for me. Dealing with the congressman man will prove a high level of difficulty but I have my set pieces ready to carry out the job easily.

To assure you sir, this is a carefully planned project and today marks it, two years, five months and three days of careful and slow progression on the plan. After all, he has a huge hand to my current state, so grant me this very chance to pay him back.”

There was a huge silence in the meeting room, which didn’t last for long as the Chairman spoke up saying, “how many of my men do you need?” “huh? Sir?” Jay replied subconsciously as a result of being shocked on what he heard.

“Fine, I’ll repeat myself again. I asked, how many of my men do you need?” the Chairman asked once again. “enough to surround the premises of the location, sir.” Jay replied with a slight hint of excitement in his voice.

“Then, forty should do. How long will this operation take?” the chairman questioned. “I will be carrying out the mission tomorrow night sir, since we will be heading over to our country’s capital city, Siphville.” Just as Jay answered, the Chairman picked up his telephone and dialled a number and in an instant, he got a response.

“You are needed in the meeting room, now.” The Chairman ordered. Within some few seconds, the elders' laughter could be heard and after it was a knock on the door, in which the Chairman responded, “come in.”

The door opened and a guard walked in. Standing beside the position where Jay was at, he gave his greetings to the Chairman, “greetings sir, you called for me.”

“Discharge forty seeds in the normal format to assist him. Jay Dick Albion is taking his first mission as the director’s heir competitor.” The Chairman ordered. “Okay sir, under the Chairman’s advice.” The guard replied as he left the meeting room.

“You can now be on your way out, Jay. As you get downstairs, the guards will be ready for you.” The Chairman said as he goes back to his former position, which is, facing the window while his back or actually, the chair’s back faces Jay.

Hearing those words, Jay bowed his head and said, “thank you so much, chairman. I will do my best to bring an absolute good result to you after the mission. Thank you once again, sir.” And in response, the Chairman gestured his hands, which was signalling Jay to now take his leave, in which Jay understood and left the meeting room.

As he got out of the room, he could see visible confusions, anger and envy written all over the elders’ faces. At that moment, the elders stared at him but all Jay could do at that moment was to show of his smile, gave them all a silent treatment and then, he headed downstairs to the last floor.

As Jay reached the last floor, the young heads gave the same expression that their elders gave. They were surprised to see him alive after pouring out what, to them, seems like a disrespectful request.

Jay walked gently amongst them and reached at the buildings entrance only to be welcomed by the shocking number of vehicles that were actually waiting for him.

Twelve vehicles, two being a branded sports car, which one of them is being driven by Chileo and the other, another member of Jay’s crew, with Nicolas sitting in it also.

As for the rest, looking like the classical bodyguard cars in movies. Jay moved on ahead to Chileo’s car and got in. Chileo can be seen with a huge smile while Jay came into the car in a composed manner.

Jay finally looks at Chileo and broke the silence as he screamed on top of his voice with a huge excitement, “we did it!” they both hugged and cheered for some minutes before they remembered that there are people waiting for their movements to follow behind.

“So, where are we going now, boss?” Chileo asked. “To the Rosetown’s airport. We will be heading to Siphville right now, as we will be taking care of the job tomorrow night.” Jay replied.

“Okay boss.” Said Chileo as he starts the car’s engine and in harmony, every other car started their own engine and as Chileo’s car drove off, so did the rest of the cars followed behind them.

Back at Vincestreet district, in Vincestreet Government Hospital, hall 12, ward 16. The beeping sound of the heart monitor could be heard in the ward room and on the hospital bed, there lies the congressman, Steve Davidson.

After some few moments, Steve immediately jerked up in shock as he was panting heavily. As time passed by, he looked around himself and he can see that he was attached to many hospital equipment and then, he laid back on the hospital bed with a smile on his face.

Slowly, his smile faded away as he sat up again and started disconnecting everything. He was trying to make a run for it. Just as he was done with the disconnections, he got off from the bed only to be stopped by the nurse that suddenly came in to check up on him.

“Sir, please, go back and lay down on your bed, you still haven’t fully recovered yet.” The nurse pleaded but at that, a gas smoke was released in the room which got both the congressman and the nurse to collapse to the floor.

A shadowy figure appeared on to the scene with a visible gas mask as he stared down the two who were now on the floor.
