Knock! Knock!
The door outside the CEO's office was knocked. Clyde glanced at the entrance and said, “Lady Boss, it’s Mr. Belmont.” “All right, let him in,” Christine said with a casual wave of her hand. The door to the CEO’s office swung open. Reginald stepped in, suppressing his displeasure at the tiny woman seated across the room. “This woman,” he muttered internally, then said aloud, “Don’t you think your rule about me and fools not being allowed into your company is a bit too irrational?” Christine continued reviewing the documents in her hands, not even bothering to look up. “Irrational?” “I am your husband, after all. Whether fool or not,” Reginald stated directly, wasting no time on unnecessary words. Christine paused. The pen in her hand pressed heavily into the paper. Finally, she looked up. Her cold eyes was filled with displeasure and hostility. “Reginald Belmont, what makes you think I acknowledge you as my husband?” “Because you hugged me tightly last night while you slept. Just like a wife should hug her husband,” Reginald said, calm as ever, meeting the cold woman’s gaze without the slightest flinch. Only, there was clear attack behind his eyes. Christine’s face darkened. She didn’t like this. Her sleeping insomnia weakness was being used against her. But the rest she’d gotten the night before was real. She’d felt it the moment she woke up. “Secretary Clyde.” Clyde nodded, immediately understanding his lady boss’s intention. “Yes, Lady Boss.” At that moment, even Clyde’s gaze toward Reginald shifted. The rumors about Reginald being so loyal he once ate literal garbage just because Christine asked? Those had felt real. But this… this was a different man. A silent standoff, and Reginald had the upper hand. A man discarded from a wealthy family, a walking joke in elite circles yet here he was, making the Ice Queen hesitate. This wasn’t just rare. This was global newsworthy. Christine withdrew her eyes. “Fine. You’re allowed in here. But don’t come to my company unless it’s necessary.” “I have a reason,” Reginald said, thinking of Eloise Payton. A ruthless glint passed through his eyes. “Dear wife, I’m here to make you fulfill the promise from last night” Christine stood with her arms casually crossed, a faint interest flickering in her eyes as they settled on him. Just yesterday, he’d made a wish and now he was here to claim it? She was curious. What wish did the recovering dimwit want, especially one unrelated to the three petty conditions she’d given him? “Go on,” she said. Reginald spoke calmly, “I want Eloise Payton to go bankrupt. Let her be burdened with millions in debt.” Since his wife had helped that woman become a millionaire by awarding her that deal, he figured she might as well complete the cycle and turn her into a millionaire in debt. Good thing Caesar was about to send all of Eloise’s dirty secrets straight to her inbox. “That’s all,” he added. * After Reginald left, Christine was still stunned from the moment he said that name. She furrowed her brows slowly. Eloise Payton? How did Reginald remember that woman? “Clyde,” she said slowly, “It seems that man remembers his first love.” Clyde could practically smell the jealousy in the air. Was the lady boss… jealous? He cleared his throat carefully. “He might have remembered her even after you tried to keep her far from him, all because he’s recovering. But he said you should make her bankrupt. Doesn’t that mean… he hates her?” Christine thought for a moment, then gave a slight nod. She didn’t even notice the small smile playing on her lips. “But she still has evidence,” she murmured, “Of my dad stabbing Mr. Keene of the Keene Corporation.” “Lady boss,” Clyde cut in, lowering his voice. “I don’t know how, but I just received an email. All of Eloise Payton’s dirty secrets of her family, finances, even personal dirt was sent to me in that email. More than enough to blackmail her into silence. Or worse.” Christine’s eyes narrowed. It wasn’t long before Clyde laid the documents across her desk. It was a dossier of destruction. It was neat, damning, and complete. “Where did this come from?” she asked, flipping through the pages, the edges slicing lightly against her fingers. Clyde shook his head. “Mr. Mogul. Of RMG Empire.” Christine’s fingers began tapping a slow, deliberate rhythm on the desk, her cold eyes sharp with doubt. Why would Reginald suddenly want to destroy his first love? And why would Mr. Mogul of RMG make that possible in seconds? “What connection does the Belmont family have with RMG Empire?” she asked. Clyde shook his head again. “None. RMG doesn’t collaborate. They don’t even entertain partnerships.” Christine’s voice lowered. “And Eloise Payton? Any link with Mr. Mogul?” “No connection there either. Which is strange, because there’s no way to reply to the email. No address. No trail. It just… appeared.” Christine rubbed her temples. She didn't even know why the legendary Mr. Mogul will send that email. Does he want her to ruin his enemy for him? But they aren't even friends! Did he send it because he knows Reginald? No way! The Belmont family doesn't even know him, so how will he know that dimwit? Fine. Reginald was never one to act without cause. That much, she remembered well. Before the crash that turned him into a dimwit, he was calculating but careful. If he wanted Eloise Payton destroyed, then something must’ve happened right before that crash. She was sure Reginald hadn’t seen that woman since the accident. She made sure of it. “Do as the dimwit wants,” she said at last. “Yes, lady boss,” Clyde said, bowing slightly as he turned to leave. But as he walked away, Clyde couldn’t stop the thought that echoed in his mind: This was the first time the lady boss took orders from a man. Christine Alexander, the woman who despised men, especially Reginald Belmont, had just followed his command. From this moment forward, Clyde swore to himself, he would never again underestimate the man called Reginald Belmont. The man was rewriting rules just by breathing. ** Outside, just as Reginald stepped out of the AlexXi Group’s front entrance, two sleek BMWs—one white, one black—rolled up in front of him. Before Reginald could react, the passenger door of the white car popped open. A man in a crisp black suit stepped out quickly and approached him. Reginald took a cautious step back. His shoulders stiffened. He didn’t recognize the man. Was he one of his stepmother’s people? Then, in the next second…. “Young Master Belmont,” the man said with a warm smile, “It is wonderful to see you again!”

Six years. Six years ago???? Was that why the Belmont estate felt so hollow that day when he went back there after he got his senses back? Was that also why Caesar had called the landline that day too?“And you…” Reginald pointed between both men. “You were holding this position… for me? Since six years ago?”Caesar gave Noah a sideways glance and nodded. “I had to pose as your grandfather’s trusted aide to your stepmother. Something wasn’t right. Meanwhile, this business was being kept alive by Noah, at least, whenever Mr. Garrett Belmont wasn’t tearing it apart.”Reginald narrowed his eyes. “Garrett. Of course.” He sighed. “Aside from my stepbrother, who else has been causing problems?”Almost on cue, a sleek black van pulled up outside. Reginald leaned toward the window. “Who’s that?”Noah didn’t answer directly. Instead, he said, “Young Master Belmont… I think it’s time we headed to the Vision Room.”The name had sounded dramatic but when he stepped inside, Reginald understood wh

The man in the suit stood with his hands at his sides, bowing deeply to Reginald like he’d just found a lost treasure.Reginald blinked. The guy looked familiar, yet… he couldn’t place him.“You know me?” Reginald asked skeptically.“Yes, Young Master Belmont,” the man said without hesitation. “The Belmont family business is not in a good state right now. And I’m more than grateful that Mr. Caesar brought me to you.”Caesar? The name made Reginald lift his eyes, and sure enough there he was. Caesar, in a crisp navy-blue suit, stepped out of the other car with his usual calm swagger. He was an older man who had a family but he was still a cool, chill dude. He waved once, casually, like he hadn’t just brought a strange man to him.Reginald’s shoulders eased slightly. He trusted that Caesar would never endanger him. “What’s your name?” he asked the man in the suit. The man gestured toward the car, leading him toward it with professional ease. Reginald followed.“I’m your secretary, young

Reginald dialed. The line clicked almost immediately.“Lord Reginald,” came Caesar’s voice as steady and respectful as always.“I counted eighteen cars,” Reginald said. “Where are the other four?”There was a pause on the other end, followed by the shuffle of paper, then Caesar’s voice again, “Eight of the eighteen cars only had drivers in them. No jewellers.”Reginald's brow creased. “So?”“So those were cars that carried what was meant to be carried by the other four cars. The gifts you prepared, diamonds, gold bars, platinum pieces, meant for those missing four cars were split across the eight cars. We assigned the jewellers to only ten of the carriers to inspect and validate before arrival.”“You split the inventory but cut the inspection crew?”“It was a last-minute adjustment, Lord Reginald. You only gave us less than the hours of a day to get all those prepared after you texted me last night.”Reginald exhaled slowly. He was not angry. “Call them back and tell them to return. I

"You're the clingy ex-boyfriend my girlfriend was talking about? The laughing stock of the Belmont family who is now a pet for the Alexanders to play with?"The man sneered, pulling a bank card from his coat pocket and flicking it over arrogantly. "There’s two grand on this. Take it and get lost."Ex-boyfriend?Reginald froze slightly and turned to Eloise, confused. Since when… was he her ex?Eloise Payton straightened her back, her expression cold, deliberately stepping away from him. "I finally got that multi-million-dollar project you once promised but never had the ability to deliver. I started my own firm but it's a studio now. I’m a company boss now, worth millions."She gave a chilling smile. "I heard you just recently started thinking clearly again? Doesn’t matter. Until you’re fully sane, you’re still a lunatic to everyone anyway. We’re not on the same level anymore. You really think someone like you deserves me? I’m the daughter of the former mayor, remember?"Reginald looke

Reginald narrowed his sharp eyes. A faint trace of sarcasm flashed within his mink down eyes. Why did the air suddenly smell a bit… sour?He let out a low chuckle, careless and teasing. “A man and a woman, legally married, spending the night together in the same room. Little brother, what do you think happened?”Even as Garrett’s face turned dark with fury, Reginald showed no concern. In fact, he seemed to delight in stoking the fire.“You—!” Garrett, enraged, raised his hand to strike. But before the blow could land, a voice cried out by the door.“The Ice Queen… she’s actually asleep!”The one speaking was Clyde Banks, Christine’s personal assistant. Peeking in through the crack of the door, he was utterly stunned. His cold, insomniac lady boss was fast asleep in bed, sleeping soundly as peaceful as a child. It was Monday morning. It was already past nine, and Christine still hadn’t shown up to the office or called anyone to say she wouldn't be coming to the office. Clyde had panick
