Alec glanced back and saw the object being smashed on the wall. He frowned.

It was an egg.

Another one came immediately and with his quick reflexes, Alec could see the object coming. For a second, it was in a slow motion.

"Damn"

He quickly stepped away before it could hit him on the head.

He looked at the egg now broken on the floor. "what the fuck?" He cursed in a whisper.

"Good morning, trash boy" A voice greeted tauntingly.

Alec looked up, and just in front of his house, standing proudly near a Rolls Royce, with eggs in hands, were Sam and his girlfriend.

Alec groaned in annoyance when he saw them. "What the hell are they doing here?" He asked no one in particular.

"Told you that it's not over, didn't I?" Sam shouted, smirking. "Well, I meant every word."

Sam had been furious about what had happened at the restaurant last night and wasn't ready to let it slide.

Today, he had a lot prepared, just to get back at the poor boy who humiliated him.

Linda had dropped the eggs in a carton and pulled out her phone to start recording.

"So, we have a broke boy here," She said loudly in the video.

"He is like the poorest boy I've ever met, and you won't believe something guys..." She made a dramatic pause. "He is challenging my boyfriend!" She gasped. "My rich, handsome boyfriend, like he is super rich! And a...." She twisted her purple lips. "Loser! From the slums is trying to challenge a big guy like my boyfriend?" She scoffed. "I mean look at his old, broke boy hoodie...Eew"

Alec rolled his eyes. "So what now?" He spread his hands to demonstrate. "You come here, throw eggs like middle schoolers, say all sorts of trashy things, and what, laugh that you have humiliated me?" He snickered. "That's very stupid, if you ask me"

Sam's arm extended in rage, throwing the eggs toward Alec.

Alec ducked smoothly, letting the eggs smash on the hard ground instead of his forehead.

Another one came flying immediately, and Alec easily stepped to the side, letting the egg fly past him.

He sighed. "Can't believe you seriously came all the way here just to throw eggs at me"

Sam, boiling in anger, hurled two eggs at once.

"Deal with that, loser" Linda sneered.

Alec's eyes stayed on the two eggs for a second, then he slid back, spun left, and dodged one egg.

He smacked the other one quickly with the back of his hand, and it exploded mid air, the yolk raining down to the ground.

Linda stopped recording, her eyes sweeping over the broken eggs then back to the confident Alec.

"You still wanna continue with the child's play?" Alec teased.

Sam growled "You are right. This is child's play, and guess what Alec?" His lips stretched into a hard smile. "Child's play is over!"

He charged at Alec with a growl.

Alec wasn't sure if he should fight him or not.

Sam swung hard, and Alec leaned back, missing the punch with just an inch.

Linda frowned. "Sam, don't let him win!" She shouted from where she stood near the car.

"Of course!" Sam said.

He tried to throw another punch, but with one clean move, Alec caught his wrist midair, holding it still for a second.

"You're pathetic, Sam" Alec said right before releasing his wrist.

Sam stumbled forward, feeling annoyed and embarrassed, but he was still not giving up, even when he was in pain.

Just then, Alec heard sounds from behind him. He looked back and saw his dad; he quickly rushed to him.

"Dad, what....what are you doing here?" He whispered fast, blocking him from seeing the mess outside.

"Alec, get back here!" Sam shouted angrily, holding his aching wrist while Linda rubbed his back gently.

"We are not done with this fight!" Linda added loudly. "It is not over!"

Alan tried to see what was going on but Alec was blocking him.

Alan narrowed his eyes. "Are you fighting with someone?"

"Fighting?" Alec laughed. "No!" .

Alan furrowed his brows "Why is your voice sharper than usual?"

"No" Alec adjusted his tone.

"Now it's softer than usual"

Alec had to keep his groan. "Dad, you need to rest now"

"I heard sounds—"

"You imagined them" Alec quickly said.

Alan blinked. "I did?"

"Yes." Alec replied, carefully turning his dad to his room.

"But I thought I heard—"

"You imagined them, dad" Alec insisted.

After he managed to get his dad away, he came back to Sam and Linda.

"Why were you talking about the fight in my dad's presence?" Alec questioned with hard eyes.

Sam smirked. "Your dad? You mean that tired looking old man that walked like he was going to die any second from—"

Alec stepped forward in a menacing manner. "DO NOT..."

Sam blinked, low-key getting frightened.

"...speak about my father like that" Alec stated. "Ever!"

Sam managed to let out a laugh. "Why? Am I not speaking the truth? The man can't even take care of just one fucking child and—"

"I SAID...." Alec held the front of Sam's shirt in his tight fist, and Linda gasped "Do not fucking talk about my father like that!" He seethed. "Do you understand?"

Sam swallowed but after a second, he regained his courage and snatched his shirt from Alec's hold.

"Don't touch me like that ever again" Sam said, straightening his shirt. "This shirt is so expensive you can't afford it, it's gonna buy you and your entire fucking life!"

"Yes!" Linda snapped "Now get back in your hole!"

"No, you both get off my street" Alec ordered back.

"Your street?" Sam bursted out laughing. "Have you seen where you live?" He pointed to the small building at the front.

"You live in a...." Linda eyed the house disdainfully. "Trash can"

"Actually, he lives in a shit hole when others are living in beautiful luxurious homes" Sam said, shaking his head in fake pity.

Alec gave him a bored look.

"And you see, I'm gonna be meeting with the lawyer today to buy another mansion, the Dale Wood Mansion, heard of it?" He clicked his tongue. "Of course not"

"Leave my street before I beat you up" Alec warned as what was holding him back was the fear of beating Sam to death since no one's gonna be around to stop him.

"You know what?" Sam simpered. "You should be there"

Alec arched a brow.

"Yeah, you should come by and see how I sign. See how a real man does things...." He turned to Linda "He needs to watch how it's done"

Alec sighed exasperatedly.

"He is going to be signing a property worth thirty five million" Linda boasted with a smug smile. "I bet you're jealous you can't get such mansion and now you just wanna go find a cliff to fall off and die."

"A mansion like that is not a big deal, so just leave" Alec said unenthusiastically.

"Oh Pleeease..." Linda dragged. "You can't even afford the driveway, let alone the whole building"

Alec hung his head, staring blankly at them. "What's the mansion again?"

"The Dale Wood Mansion" Sam pronounced each word slowly with pride.

"Hm" Alec hummed.

He pulled out his phone, scrolled through for a few seconds, then he saw it.

He saw the mansion listing, bold and clear.

Dale Wood Mansion, Koach City. Thirty five million.

It's been a few hours since Chad and his minions left, and they had not appeared in the restaurant. "Are you sure he's still gonna come back?" Jeremy asked Alec eagerly. Alec raised his head and stared into space, just as he was about to say something, Chad and his guys strolled in haughtily. "Oh, God" Jeremy whispered. "They are back!" Chad marched straight to Alec's table and stood in front of him like a man ready for war, his minions as expected, emulated him. "I am back" He announced arrogantly. "Chad Williams," Alec called out loudly, rising dilatorily from his seat. "What are you doing here?" "What am I doing here?" He pointed to his own chest. "Or I should be asking what you are still doing here?" "I am having lunch." He waved his hands over the table. "You know," Chad took a threatening step forward "You're actually bolder than I thought." "So are you," Alec shot back, his voice deep, his tone menacingly slow. "You really came back" "Yeah, I came back" "Welcome bac

Chad stood with arms folded across his chest like he owned the whole space, and his minions were there, standing behind him, idiotically copying his action. "Surprised to see me?" He smiled slyly. "Of course you are." "Yeah, I am" Alec responded casually. "'Cause last I checked you were thrown out a store for acting like an annoying little prick" Jeremy laughed loudly on purpose. "How dare you" Chad growled at Alec, leaning forward, his nose flaring, his hand grabbing the front of Alec's shirt. "You little piece of shit".Alec smiled at his reaction. "I was just talking about what happened, and I had thought you would disappear, but here you are, dragging my shirt like some pained asshole.""Shut up, poor brat. You know I don't stay gone for long." Some people in the restaurant saw what Chad was doing, but they chose to ignore that because it was Chad, the 'rich guy', rough handling Alec, the 'poor guy', and they didn't care about that 'poor guy'. "So, what do you want now?" Al

"Are you sure you want the seller to decide n—""Yes" Sam snapped. He narrowed his eyes at Alec. "He can't afford the mansion. He can't definitely pay a hundred and eighty million dollars, he's just playing a prank" He muttered to himself, and slowly, a smile bent his lips. "Ha. A prank that will get him in trouble.""This is how you wanna play?" Sam asked loudly. "Is this how you wanna play??" Alec asked back coolly. "I play well, and I win, Alec. Have you forgotten that?" Alec sat back in the leather chair. "Then the game is still on." ****A few moments have passed, Mr Cole finally cleared his throat to speak. "Gentlemen..." His voice was loud and solid. "A game." "Yes. A game," A leer crept up his face. "Or are you scared now? You want the game off?" "No..." Alec's eyes went back to the mansion listing, then back at Sam's over confident face. His jaw tightened. "The game is on, Sam""Good. Good" Sam's evil laughter echoed in Alec's ears. "And you should know that you're lucky I was not in the mood to beat your ass up the other time" "Yeah, tell him" Linda said in her irritating tiny voice. The waiter asked carefully. "Yes. Alec's table." Sam confirmed firmly. "Tell him it's from Sam Thomas, and tell the poor little dick over there that 'this is not over'" The waiter blinked, his feet not moving an inch. "Tell him Sam Thomas said 'this is not fucking over'," He said again with a raspier tone. "He'll understand." The waiter hesitated but eventually went to the table to deliver the wine...and the message. "From Mr. Thomas over there" The waiter said sluggishly, feeling awkward. "He said....that..." He swallowed "That this is not over" Alec arched his brows. "I see" He stared at the wine, then clicked his tong
