Thirty five million.

The money rang in Alec's head, his eyes still glued to the phone's screen.

"So?" Linda toyed with her hair, an evil grin playing on her lips. "You still wanna play?"

Alec did not reply.

"Listen, Alec, this is a game for the wealthy ones only, but I am allowing you to be a part of it, so you should count yourself lucky" Sam added.

Alec's eyes flashed to him. "A game."

"Yes. A game," A leer crept up his face. "Or are you scared now? You want the game off?"

"No..." Alec's eyes went back to the mansion listing, then back at Sam's over confident face. His jaw tightened. "The game is on, Sam"

"Good. Good" Sam's evil laughter echoed in Alec's ears. "And you should know that you're lucky I was not in the mood to beat your ass up the other time"

"Yeah, tell him" Linda said in her irritating tiny voice.

Alec stood straight, his eyes dead serious, "No, Sam," He said, remembering how he should be careful with his new found powers. "You are lucky I don't wanna beat your ass up with these strong hands. But I promise you...I promise you, Sam Thomas..." His eyes twitched a little "that I'll be beating you up in something else. Just wait and see"

Alec has his plans.

And Sam? He had his plans too.

***

Alec had texted Jeremy that he would not be at school today as something important came up. He knew Jeremy would surely be late to school today, and he did not want him to get more late because he had to wait for him.

Now, Alec could focus on the tasks he had today. He did not want the time to run out.

First, the mansion.

The thirty five million mansion was open to negotiation only with serious buyers, and Alec wanted to see how that would work for him.

So right now, him and Sam were in the same room, trying not to pounce on each other. They were sitting across from each other in the large conference room of Cole & Cole LLP. That was the real the estate law firm handling the deal.

"Thanks for coming, gentlemen" Mr Cole said with a professional smile. He was the attorney for the real estate.

Sam sneered at Alec.

Alec cut him with a hard look.

Mr Cole couldn't help but notice the tension.

"So, gentlemen..." He cleared his throat. "We don't usually do this."

The two guys now stared at him.

"Yes. We don't usually do double showings, but you both submitted proof of funds quicker than expected. You both showed signs of seriousness and determination to get the house, so the seller has decided hear both offers simultaneously." Mr Cole explained.

Sam passed Alec a confident smile and leaned back with cocky ease. "This guy here..." he pointed rudely to Alec "is a clown, Mr Cole."

"Mr Thomas..." The attorney called to politely tell him to stop.

"I'm serious!" Sam continued. "Look at him, does he look like someone that can buy a mansion?"

Mr Cole regarded Alec as Sam had suggested, but he didn't make a comment about what he saw. Instead, he slipped into professionalism.

"Let's continue"

Sam grinned, rubbing his hands together. "I'm offering Forty three. Million. Dollars" He drawled arrogantly. "No issues. Just a clean deal"

Mr Cole nodded with approval, jotting the figure down. "Thank you, Mr Thomas."

"Can I speak now?" Alec asked quietly.

"Of course, Mr Todd, you can."

"Okay," He smiled "I'm offering fifty eight million dollars"

The lawyer paused and looked up.

Sam scoffed under his breath. "He's lying."

"Mr Cole, If I am lying you would have known a long time, right?" Alec asked calmly.

Mr Cole stared at him then gave a slow nod. "You are going to pay fifty eight million—"

"I'll pay sixty million then" Sam cut in.

Mr Thomas glanced over at him. "Okay?" He took his attention back to Alec "Mr Todd?"

Alec was quiet, his expression unreadable.

Sam laughed like a maniac. "Sixty million could shut you up?" He tapped his forehead gently. "Oh man, you are just a little, pathetic loser..."

"Mr Thomas." The attorney called out again.

"Okay. Okay" Sam raised his hands above his head in mock surrender, a shadow of smile on his lips.

"So, Mr Todd?" The attorney asked again.

Alec wore his easy going smile. "I'll pay a hundred million dollars."

Sam's teasing smile wiped off.

The lawyer froze.

"You're bluffing" Sam said, his lips curved up.

Alec took his phone, tapped on it, and showed the attorney something that made his eyes widen.

"He...he is not bluffing, Mr Thomas" Mr Cole almost stammered, his eyes glued to the screen of Alec's phone.

"So you're telling me he has a hundred million dollars?"

"Actually" Mr Cole swallowed. "He has more than a hundred million dollars"

Sam took a steady moment to glance between the attorney and Alec. He huffed a laugh. "That's not possible."

"Mr. Thomas..."

"Alec's got a lot of tricks, and he's using one of them right now, just can't believe it would work on you" He scoffed at Alec and shook his head. "God, Alec, you're just so annoying"

"Mr Thomas, please," The attorney used his strict voice. "This is a neutral setting, personal issues have to be set aside while you are here"

Sam clenched his jaw.

"So, Mr Todd has made an offer of one hundred million dollars" He leaned forward. "What about you, Mr Thomas? Are you making another offer?"

"You can't be taking someone like...HIM...." Sam jerked his thumb at Alec. "... seriously"

"Are you making another offer or not, Mr Thomas?" The attorney questioned, his tone dripping with more strictness.

Sam's face hardened. He breathed harshly. "I'll pay a hundred and ten million dollars"

Mr Cole nodded with his usual professionalism and started taking note of that. "Mr Todd?"

"A hundred and twenty five million" He offered.

Mr Cole exhaled quietly. "Okay, Mr Thomas?"

"A hundred and thirty million"

Mr Cole jotted that down. He could see that it was getting more intense than when they just started. "Mr Todd?"

"One hundred and fifty million"

Mr Cole looked up, stared, and took his eyes back at his work. "Mr Thomas?"

"One hundred and fifty one million" Sam offered gruffly.

Alec chuckled, even the attorney was amused.

"Interesting" He said, trying to remain professional.

"Mr Todd, please?" He called respectfully for him to make another huge offer.

"One hundred and eighty million"

Sam clenched his fist, his face grim with angry thoughts.

Mr Cole smiled at Alec and looked at an irate Sam. "Mr Thomas?" He was now enjoying the intense drama.

Sam quietly let out a harsh breath. "I think the seller should just decide who the house belongs to now."

It's been a few hours since Chad and his minions left, and they had not appeared in the restaurant. "Are you sure he's still gonna come back?" Jeremy asked Alec eagerly. Alec raised his head and stared into space, just as he was about to say something, Chad and his guys strolled in haughtily. "Oh, God" Jeremy whispered. "They are back!" Chad marched straight to Alec's table and stood in front of him like a man ready for war, his minions as expected, emulated him. "I am back" He announced arrogantly. "Chad Williams," Alec called out loudly, rising dilatorily from his seat. "What are you doing here?" "What am I doing here?" He pointed to his own chest. "Or I should be asking what you are still doing here?" "I am having lunch." He waved his hands over the table. "You know," Chad took a threatening step forward "You're actually bolder than I thought." "So are you," Alec shot back, his voice deep, his tone menacingly slow. Chad stood with arms folded across his chest like he owned the whole space, and his minions were there, standing behind him, idiotically copying his action. "Surprised to see me?" "I was just talking about what happened, and I had thought you would disappear, but here you are, dragging my shirt like some pained asshole.""Shut up, poor brat. You know I don't stay gone for long." Some people in the restaurant saw what Chad was doing, but they chose to ignore that because it was Chad, the 'rich guy', rough handling Alec, the 'poor guy', and they didn't care about that 'poor guy'. "So, what do you want now?" Al

A prank that will get him in trouble.""This is how you wanna play?" Sam asked loudly. "Is this how you wanna play??" Alec asked back coolly. "I play well, and I win, Alec. Have you forgotten that?" Alec glanced back and saw the object being smashed on the wall. He frowned. It was an egg. Another one came immediately and with his quick reflexes, Alec could see the object coming. For a second, it was in a slow motion. "Damn" He quickly stepped away before it could hit him on the head. He looked at the egg now broken on the floor. "what the fuck?" He cursed in a whisper. "Good morning, trash boy" A voice greeted tauntingly. Alec looked up, and just in front of his house, standing proudly near a Rolls Royce, with eggs in hands, were Sam and his girlfriend.Alec groaned in annoyance when he saw them. "What the hell are they doing here?" He asked no one in particular. "Told you that it's not over, didn't I?" Sam shouted, smirking. "Well, I meant every word." Sam had been furious about what had happened at the restaurant last night and wasn't ready to let it slide. Today, he had a lot prepared, just to get back at the poor boy who humiliated him. Soon, the waiter arrived with the wine, and for a second, Sam's eyes lit up. "Now..." He pointed to Alec's table, his eyes now hardened again. "You're gonna send it to that table""That...table??" The waiter asked carefully. "Yes. Alec's table." Sam confirmed firmly. "Tell him it's from Sam Thomas, and tell the poor little dick over there that 'this is not over'" The waiter blinked, his feet not moving an inch. "Tell him Sam Thomas said 'this is not fucking over'," He said again with a raspier tone. "He'll understand." The waiter hesitated but eventually went to the table to deliver the wine...and the message. "From Mr. Thomas over there" The waiter said sluggishly, feeling awkward. "He said....that..." He swallowed "That this is not over" Alec arched his brows. "I see" He stared at the wine, then clicked his tong
