1... Alexander Todd...
In a class full of mostly unserious students, a beautiful and young female teacher stood in front of them to explain the topic of the day and ask questions. Alexander Todd, known as Alec, was present in the class, sitting quietly, like he has no life. He took several deep breaths to calm his nerves, but it wasn't working. The huge boys sitting at the back of the class made him feel apprehensive, and anytime he summons little courage to look back at them, his timid eyes would always lock with their fierce ones.He knew right away that he was a dead meat, all for saying 'hi' to the only girl that was nice enough to wave her hand and say 'hello' when he was getting his books from his locker before class started. Alec was a guy that always had something heavy in his eyes. He has a father who got sick frequently and still tried to work to provide for their daily needs, and he has no mother. His mother died from a dementia disease.Alec doesn't have much of a choice than to accept every
2... Host identified...
After classes were over, Alec grabbed his bag and began to head home immediately. The sky became dark, and it looked like the rain was about to pour down heavily. Alec reached the parking lot, but he was unaware of the big guys of his class waiting for him to show up so they could surround him and beat him up. Alec was in a hurry to get home for two reasons. The first reason was to avoid the bullies. And the second reason was to get home before the rain started. As Alec walked quickly, he was unaware of the guys that had watched him carefully and surrounded him. He had to look around before he understood what was happening. He wondered how the bullies were able to trap him this way despite efforts to avoid them. They just had to somehow find a way to get him alone in the parking lot, near their expensive cars. "Not you dickheads again" Alec sighed "What the hell do you want from me?" He asked slowly. A punch came his way the instant he dropped the question. He tried to dodge
3... Primary Objective...
Alec had initially thought the sound that woke him up was an alarm, but now he knew it was something in his head. Something strange and unexplainable. He had thought maybe going back to sleep would help his confusing situation, but he was very wrong. A ding sound echoed, and he sat up on the bed, curious to know what the new sound was about. There were some things shown to Alec on the screen he saw earlier. He began to read quietly. "System Analysis: Body = 15 [Weak]. Mind = 50 [Average]. Strength = 10 [Weak].""Really?" He laughed sarcastically "You know what I think?" He asked rhetorically "I think you're shitting me cause you know I've got a weak body and you still chose me as your host? Come on, man!" He said amidst laughter. "System, or whatever the hell your name is…" "Host may assign system name" The voice intoned. "Will you stop talking so loud!" Alec grumbled in slight frustration. "And if you want me to name you, then you gotta stop calling me 'host'. I'm sure
4... Initiate first combat...
Heidi was a hot blonde with sophisticated features. It was obvious she came from a wealthy family. Alec frowned as her face clicked in his mind. He remembered seeing her in the school hallway a couple of times before. “Does everyone who attends Crestwood High School work here?” he asked, not really expecting an answer. Jeremy grinned at the question. “Isn’t this the guy that slept for a full fifty four hours?” Heidi asked sassily, pointing at Alec. Alec felt embarrassed but tried hard not to show it. Jeremy smiled briefly. “Well, he’s awake now.” “So, is he the new member of this team?” Heidi asked, scrutinizing Alec from head to toe. “Very soon, Heidi,” Jeremy replied with a smile. “Very soon, he’ll become one.” Alec narrowed his eyes at Jeremy, wondering what he meant by that. He grabbed Jeremy by the arm. “Come here for a sec, please.” They walked away from Heidi. “What’s this new member stuff all about?” Jeremy grinned. “I’ve been watching you at school. Yo
5... Punching someone...
Alec was still shirtless, sitting on the bed he had found himself on about an hour ago. Those three words still lingered on his mind. one billion dollars. How is that possible? "Okay, talk to me, system," He started, adjusting himself on the bed. "I have one billion dollars in my bank account right now?" "Positive." "Jesus Christ," he muttered under his breath. "Does that mean I just got paid for….punching someone?""Correct. Financial incentives will continue as mission objectives are completed.""Man...." Alec exhaled a breath. "I don't know what to say" A thought slipped into his mind "Wait..." He frowned. "You're shitting me, aren't you, system?" "Negative." Alec blinked twice "You're not lying to me?" "Positive" "Uhm...." He hung his head "Positive?" "Affirmative" "Oh, God." He held his head with both hands, thinking in all directions available in his mind. "Okay… maybe… " He laughed a little "Maybe I’m not entirely useless.""Continued training required. Full power
6...Recalibrations...
Jeremy smirked at Heidi as she talked about a particular young man. It was hard for her to forget how he slept like a dead man for good fifty four hours and woke up like a strong man made for wars."What do you think about the guy?" She asked, tapping her fingers rapidly on the upgraded computer keyboard in front of her. It was one of the company's belongings and there were other computer systems around her, most of them thoroughly upraged and futuristic in both appearance and function. "Jeremy, you aren't gonna answer?" She asked impatiently, flicking her eyelashes upwards for a second to give Jeremy a glance. "What do you think about that....that guy?" "What guy?" Jeremy asked back, pretending not to know who Heidi was referring to. "What guy?" She scoffed a laugh. "Jeremy, are you serious right now?" She halted her fingers on the key to reply sassily. "After this guy slept like a dead man for good fifty four hours, he is now like a popular celebrity around here" She pressed he
7...Cafeteria...
It was the next morning and Jeremy was standing at the entrance of Alec's house, waiting for the door to be opened. Soon, a middle aged man, having the same bottle green eyes with Alec opened the door. He looked like a weak man, still trying very hard to live for something...or some things. Mr Todd saw a young guy about Alec's age in front of the door, and the first thing he asked was, "Who are you?" Jeremy wore a pleasant smile "I'm Alec's friend, sir." The middle-aged man blinked. "This is a dream" He said and shut the door. Jeremy also blinked, confused. He knocked on the door like he had done seconds ago. Mr Todd took in a deep breath and opened the door again. The young attractive man was still standing, wearing a smile to please the man. "Hi, sir," Jeremy greeted respectfully "I'm Alec's friend and I just thought I should stop by so we could go to school together" Mr Todd assessed him from head to toe "Are you sure you're Alec's friend?" "Uh...." Jeremy tilted
8...Thirty hours...
Alec had been tempted to speak with the System right in the middle of the cafeteria, with everyone around him. Excitement surged through his body; his breathing was low and quick, and his heart beat was pounding against his chest. Neural Reflex vision? The side eye, like, the second sight that has been helping him detect motion at the sides. So, NRV....Plus, two billion dollars in a day? He hadn't even spent the whole billion he got last night. With everything, he knew he still had to control the strong urge to communicate with the system. Jeremy grinned at Alec, and gave him a thumbs up, while the other students mummured among themselves. "How did he grow so strong quickly?" a junior asked his friend, who also had a confused frown on his face. "That is just....a mystery" The friend replied slowly."You know, I think he looks a little different than before" A girl observed, squinting at Alec."I thought I was the only one that noticed that" The junior boy said. Many students in
9...Poor boy in a rich place...
The music in Jeremy's car was loud, and Jeremy's voice was even louder as he happily rapped along with the artist playing. He glanced at Alec to flash him a smile but only caught something else on his face, something that looked like he would soon start lamenting about the ear busting music. Jeremy lowered the volume of the music a little, and more importantly, he stopped rapping. "You got a store in mind?" He asked as the music now played at a normal level for Alec. "I don't know, man," Alec replied. "You choose" "Okay," Jeremy grinned. "You know I would have loved us to hit that Sapphire store, but the prices of their stuffs there are really scary, could almost make you pass out in fear, so I'm choosing Ceecyx Department store" "Ceecyx department store" Alec repeated thoughtfully. "Yeah" Jeremy mumbled. Thirty hours. And now, Alec had less than thirty hours. "So you said Sapphire is more expensive, yeah?" Alec asked aloud, some ideas already forming in his mind. "It could
10...I want to...
"Now, let's begin, shall we?" Chad mimicked, and his followers bursted into loud laughter that made Jeremy's jaw clench. He stepped forward again, but Alec, like before, held him back. "Jeremy..." "I can just fight them" He rasped.Alec shook his head to show his disagreement. "I'm gonna handle this""Alec, I can end this now" Jeremy insisted, but Alec still disagreed, giving him a look that said no. Chad laughed scornfully "You know Jeremy, I am disappointed in you," He shook his head with feigned pity. "Hanging out with a poor, useless guy like this?" He motioned a hand to Alec in a downgrading manner. "That's just low. You could do so much better than that" "Shut the fuck up, Chad" Jeremy seethed. Chad chuckled sickly. "Listen, Jeremy, this poor little shit here..." he gestured to Alec again. "Is gonna taint your image badly, you shouldn't be seen associating with him at all" Jeremy's hands were itching to punch Chad's face, but Alec wouldn't allow it. "We can just kill th
