‘Damn it. He knows,’ said Francis at the back of his mind, biting his lower lip in nervousness. ‘Maybe this is what he’s warning me about.’

He added, ‘Oliver was fuming mad. I can sense it even though we had a far distance earlier.’

Francis quickened his pace, weaving through the hallway.

Desperately wanting to be away from Oliver, he decided to turn to the other hallway, reaching for the staircase.

But before he could do that, Oliver was already in front of him, leaning on the wall, giving him an intense gaze.

“Francis,” Oliver called in a familiar voice, a chilling sensation sending down his spine.

Oliver didn’t use the voice modulator this time. And somehow, hearing his real voice made the hair on his neck stand up in fear.

His footsteps halted, and his body froze.

A muscle in his jaw twitched as he turned around, trying to make a calm and chill demeanor.

“Hey, Oliver,” Francis greeted, acting like he wasn’t affected by Oliver’s presence. “What’s up?” he added to ask.
