Oliver remained silent for a moment, pondering what to do with James’ information.

Although he admitted at the back of his mind how helpful the information was, Oliver still wanted to punch James in the face.

“Alright,” Oliver spoke after a few seconds. “Let’s do it your way. I’ll consider it as Plan C.”

Oliver thought it would be enough, but to his amusement, James spoke.

“I have a condition.” His expression hardened. “That part… I want you to leave it to me.”

Hearing that statement, Oliver’s lips curved into a smirk.

He already knew what James was talking about even if he didn’t directly mention it.

As his lips curved into a smirk, Oliver extended his hand toward James. “Deal?”

Nodding, James took it and both of them shook hands.

“Deal.”

Meanwhile, the next day, Francis was at the Capital Hall’s rooftop, puffing his cigarette as he stared at the overlooking city.

No one knew him as the other robber, and that was the same case with Melvin.

“Then, the mission happened. The other members came back, except you and Oliver,” Melissa added. “They said you died in an explosion. While Oliver… No one saw his dead body, so I searched for him.”The sincerity was heard in Melissa’s voice as she said those statements. But Jack’s response was to raise an eyebrow. “So, you’re telling us that you tried to find Oliver just because of mere trust?”“It may look like mere stupidity at first, but I managed to find Oliver because of it,” Melissa answered. “That is why… I don’t know why you’re accusing me of something I didn’t do—”Before Melissa could finish her words, Jack took something and slammed it on the table.“Can you still call it accusing if I have evidence about what I’m saying?” Jack asked, his hands balling into fists. He added, “Look at that, Sir Charlie. Look at how the most self-proclaimed loyal person to the company… It turned out to be like this.”Charlie didn’t answer, but he obliged. He took the folder from the table and

The room fell silent upon hearing those words. They were now preparing themselves for what was yet to come.“I’m just thankful that I had the same fate as Oliver,” Jack said, now looking at their commander. “Everyone also thought he was dead, but he turned out to be alive.”With his brows furrowing, Oliver asked, “How did you know that?”“I told him,” Ray answered, taking everyone’s attention. “Earlier, he asked about how everyone was doing. I hope you didn’t mind, Commander.”“No, I didn’t.” Oliver shook his head. “I was just shocked about it.”Then, he looked at Jack. “I’m curious about one thing. What did they want to know, to the point they were willing to torture you every day?”“They wanted to know Zerenette Lakovia’s whereabouts.” Jack sighed. “But after the explosion, I don’t have any idea what happened.”He added, “I kept on saying that to them, but they won’t believe me. After all, I immediately became aware of the interconnected bombs they had set up. They thought I would k

“Alright, I’m going there,” Oliver answered after a few seconds, his mind finally clearing.“See you later, Commander.”Oliver only hummed before ending the call. Then, stepping on the gas pedal, Oliver accelerated the speed of his car, but not to the point that he would have a violation for overspeeding again, as he turned to the other direction.*****It didn’t take Oliver long as he arrived at the Legion’s headquarters.Oliver felt the pain that pierced his heart, remembering that this was the last place he and James had their last heart-to-heart conversation. And now he’s gone. Just like that… he’s no longer with them.He was snapped out of his senses when, suddenly, someone knocked on his car window.“Oliver,” Samuel called, his tone low as Oliver rolled down the window. “You’re the only one we’re waiting for inside. Everyone else is already there, even Charlie.”Upon hearing those words, Oliver’s breathing hitched. The last time he and Charlie had a conversation was three years

“I have so many questions right now, but at this point, it’s fine with me if you only answer this one.”Oliver went closer toward Jack, who was having a hard time opening his mouth due to too much beating.“How are you feeling?”“I feel like… Shit,” Jack admitted, grimacing as he felt the ache in all parts of his body. “I need a fucking doctor, you know…”Despite the pain, Jack still managed to smirk.“You’re fine.” Oliver smiled, placing a hand on Jack’s arm. “You’re still the Jack I know.”Jack’s personality was almost the same as James, but with a little bit of Nick’s characteristics. And that is why he was close to everyone, even Charlie, who was known to be fond of Oliver alone.“Ouch, that hurts,” Jack complained, but the smile on his lips didn’t fade. “Damn, Commander. I think you became stronger.”Oliver let out a chuckle, but at the same time, he was worried about Jack’s condition.“Let’s go and bring him to the hospital—”“No,” Jack interrupted. “I can’t go to the hospital…

“Send me the warehouse’s address, too. I’ll go there,” Oliver commanded.“We’ll follow,” Nick told him, now turning off his computer as he took the gun from his cabinet instead. He added, “Samuel’s a tough and intelligent guy. I’m sure nothing happened to him.”Everyone nodded. But still, Oliver would only be calm once he saw Samuel alive.Maybe it was Jack and James’ deaths that were giving him trauma. He couldn’t afford to lose another comrade. That would be a punch to his gut.“I got him,” Ray said after a few seconds, clicking something onto his keyboard. “I already sent you the coordinates, Commander.”“Received. Thank you.”Oliver pushed the gas pedal, accelerating the car, not caring whether he would violate the speed limit or not.“But wait, Commander, do you have any weapons?” Nick asked, now preparing the other things into his bag. “You’re not planning to fight barehanded, aren’t you?”“I have,” Oliver answered, looking into his compartment. “I brought a gun with me. “Huh?” Oliver’s brows furrowed. “What do you mean?”“There is something you need to fix within yourself first,” the ogre answered. He leaned forward, adjusting himself so he could level his face with Oliver, although it was somehow impossible because of the difference in size.“I can sense it. You’re dealing with problems and a heartbreak right now,” he added, looking into Oliver’s eyes.“You have experienced pain and loss. And that wouldn’t be the end.”Those words felt like a threat to Oliver. As much as he didn’t like it, he chose to listen to the Ogre instead.‘After all, it won’t harm me once I know his thoughts,’ said Oliver in the back of his mind.“You will experience inevitable pain,” the ogre told him, his voice firm. “But it will make you stronger and unlock a potential you had never seen before.”Oliver didn’t answer as he tried to internalize those words in his mind. Then, he asked out of curiosity, “Perhaps… Are you a mind reader?”“No.” He shook his head. “But I could t
