Rebecca offered a slight smile before quickly hiding it.
“The dirty mutt who only knows how to smear someone’s name without any proof…” Oliver remarked, his gaze shifting to them.
“…And all the followers who blindly believe her.” His eyes swept over the other guests.
As his words settled, the room fell silent.
The guests’ faces morphed into expressions of disgust and disbelief.
Jay’s face darkened in anger.
“You worthless son of a bitch,” he hissed through clenched teeth, “I’m gonna kick your ass out of your mouth.”
“This damn bastard!”
Denver growled, losing his patience. He lunged forward, grabbing Oliver by the collar.

An elderly man walked along the plush, carpeted hallway outside, furrowing his brow as he approached the door.
“What’s going on inside? Why is it so noisy?”
One of his subordinates picked up a walkie-talkie to explain,
“It seems there’s been a disagreement in the banquet hall, but it hasn’t escalated to the point of needing security yet.”
This elderly man was the host of the banquet, Ryan Williams, one of the wealthiest and most influential men in the capital.
His wealth was just the tip of the iceberg when it came to his power.
His true influence extended into every realm of this world, making even politicians heed his opinions.
“What kind of disagreement?” Ryan inquired.
“There’s been a minor altercation between a few guests: Miss Trisha, the heir of the Henverton family, and her companion; Miss Rebecca, the account manager of Umbrella Bank, and her partner, Oliver Hunt,”
His subordinate replied.
“If you think it’s necessary, I can have them removed.”
The old man stopped his step suddenly.
“Oliver Hunt…”
He repeated the name, a flicker of recognition crossing his face as he hurried toward the door.
Could it really be him?
The man who saved him. The leader of the Zero Mercenary. A force capable of shifting the balance of power in the world-
Was here?!

“Wait, Denver,”
Trisha called, gripping his arm as she remembered how Oliver had knocked him out in a single punch.
Denver just smiled and shook his head. “Don’t worry, Trisha. I was caught off guard last time, but that won’t happen again,”
He reassured her, confidence radiating from his expression.
‘Oliver may hit harder than me before, but if I strike first, he won’t have a chance to retaliate,’
Denver thought with a smirk.
With all his strength, Denver lunged at Oliver, trying to lift him to slam him down, but it ended in utter failure.
Denver’s eyes widened in shock, realizing he couldn’t lift Oliver despite his own physical advantage!
“If that’s all you can do, then get your filthy hands off my shirt before I break your bones,”
Oliver warned, his voice icy.
“You fucker!”
Denver roared, clenching his fists, ready to unleash chaos in the party.
Bang!
At that moment, the banquet hall door swung open. An elderly man entered the restaurant.
His entire appearance screamed luxury and wealth, making everyone look at him in shock and awe.
“Ryan Williams! One of the wealthiest and most influential men in the capital!”
“That suit he’s wearing costs $400,000 alone. And that watch… Is that a limited-edition from France?”
As the murmurs buzzed around him, Ryan glanced at the guests, silencing them instantly.
His inscrutable smile and commanding presence sent chills down their spines.
Oliver frowned at the fear radiating from the guests. He sensed there was more to the man’s intimidating aura than met the eye.
“He’s one of the most powerful men in this country. Wealth is just the tip of the iceberg; what’s more frightening is the influence of his subordinates. They say there’s nothing he can’t do, whether it’s launching satellites or even toppling governments,”
Rebecca murmured, noting Oliver’s confusion.
Oliver nodded, looking into Ryan. For some reason, he felt no fear of the man.
“I heard some commotion,” Ryan said, his tone authoritative as he scanned the room.
As his gaze swept over Oliver, his expression suddenly changed. He froze, and his body trembled slightly.
“Hah. He’s a dead man now for ticking off Mr. Williams,” Jay sneered, a malicious grin spreading across his face.
“And I’m sure Rebecca’s next. How dare she bring that pauper here and ruin the party? What a stupid move,” Trisha scoffed, folding her arms.
Everyone in the room shared the same thought.
They smirked, anticipating Ryan reaching Oliver.
But to their astonishment, they couldn’t speak a word the next second.
Thud!
This powerful man, capable of controlling everything, that Ryan Williams! Suddenly fell to his knees in front of Oliver!

Chapter 327: Trust Is To Be Earned, Not Given
With his brows furrowing, Oliver looked at Jack from head to toe, trying to see if there was still any blue energy or power surrounding him.Little did Jack know, Oliver used his necklace to absorb his power, so Jack won’t be able to use it.But for some reason, the necklace had a hard time absorbing it, unlike what it did to Dexter, Anastasia, and Red’s energy before.Thankfully, Oliver didn’t find any blue energy now. But unfortunately, he noticed something else instead.“Everyone, duck now!” Oliver shouted in panic, seeing that Jack suddenly pulled something out of his pocket.A grenade.BOOM!Before Oliver could even reach them, he was thrown onto the back because of the sudden explosion. The distance between him and Jack’s location isn’t that near yet, so he didn’t gain any injuries. However, the leader and the other soldiers within the vicinity were surely in danger.“Guys, come with me!” Oliver commanded, and his entire team ran toward the area to save anyone that was still al
Chapter 346: Unusual Confidence
“You have two choices. Keep on fighting, or surrender,” Oliver said, his voice cold. “This is the first and the last chance I’ll give you.”Jack smirked. “Do I really have a choice? You blocked every exit where I could go. I couldn’t even use the windows now.”“And all of you were at the door. How could I run away?” he added, raising an eyebrow, his lips curving into a smirk. “You’re giving a nonexistent choice in the first place.”“You can still choose it. There is just a lower probability that you’ll succeed if you choose to fight,” Oliver answered, looking intently at Jack.“If I were you, I would rather have the second choice.”Jack snorted. Then, he raised his hands in surrender.“Alright,” Jack said, grinning. “I surrender now. Take me to the Legion and let Charlie set a punishment for me. If that’s what will make you sleep at night, then so be it.”Samuel and Nick were about to go to him, as they had prepared handcuffs for this. But they couldn’t bring a gun, given that it was
Chapter 345: Preplanned
Oliver blinked in mixed shock and disbelief.“You’re seriously blaming me for something you did?”“It may be something I did, but remember that there are factors for it,” Jack answered, gritting his teeth. “Everything happened because of you.”Oliver chuckled, knowing what Jack was trying to do.Jack was trying to make Oliver feel guilty for something he didn’t have any fault with.Thankfully, Oliver wasn’t the same person that Jack used to know.“If there is something that happened because of me, that is not knowing your real personality because I trusted you,” Oliver said, emphasizing every word.“That’s something I regret. But I know I can still do something about it.”Jack smirked, now standing up properly as his body had fully healed already.“Hmm…” he hummed, lifting the sleeves of his hospital gown. “And what can you do? Pin me down? Tell everyone about what you discovered?”Pausing his words for a moment, he took some steps toward Oliver, who didn't flinch even though Jack was
Chapter 344: Confession
At the same time, Oliver had given Melissa the benefit of the doubt. She was innocent until proven guilty, and that would only happen if the evidence were verified.Oliver was glad that he listened to his intuition. That he didn’t trust people as much as before. And if he did, it would only be the deserving ones.“Are you afraid that we’re getting closer to the truth? And that is why you chose to stay out of your hiding and deceive us, knowing it would be easy for you to do?” Oliver asked, doing his best to stay calm.“Worse? You even killed James.”It wasn’t a question, but a statement from Oliver.“Back in Dominic's house, he discovered something he shouldn’t have seen,” Oliver said, not even holding back. “He finally knew the identity of Dominic’s boss, someone who gave him orders.”“And it was you, Jack.”Jack wasn’t able to speak. His gaze was darkening, even biting his lips because of the growing anger inside his heart. But not because he was wrongly accused. It was because, aft
Chapter 343: True Nature
“Because you’re the real culprit and not Melissa.”Oliver took a few steps toward Jack, narrowing their distance.“You’re the real spy. The real enemy. The person who was pulling the strings,” he added, his voice darker, the same as his expression.“You’re the one stabbing us in the back while smiling in front of us.”Oliver didn’t know how he was maintaining his calmness while saying those words, but one thing is for sure.He was having a hard time. His heart broke so badly, knowing that the person they relied on a lot, and even the one who kept them moving forward to seek justice… Was the one who started it all.“This is plain bullshit, Oliver,” Jack said, the irritation was now evident in his voice. “I thought you chose to be here so you could ask how I’ve been.”“But if you’re just going to accuse me of fake things like this,” he added, throwing the documents into the air, “then just go. I don’t need you or the Legion V. I’m okay on my own.”The side of Oliver’s lips rose upon hea
Chapter 342: Facts Don't Lie
Jack’s jaw fell upon hearing those words.“I planned my sacrifice?” Jack asked, the confusion evident in his voice as he looked Oliver in the eye. “What do you mean by that? Can you explain? Because I’m being lost here.”“Are you really lost? Or you’re just pretending to?” Oliver shot back, his cold gaze unwavering, folding his arms. “How long are you going to keep that shitty demeanor up?”Although Oliver was calm, the anger was evident in every word he threw at Jack.“Three years ago, we thought you made a sacrifice to save our lives. That despite knowing about those interconnected bombs, you chose to step on it, giving your entire life for the mission.”“But it wasn’t just the case, wasn't it?” Oliver added, now running his fingers through his hair, doing his best to be calm. “It was planned to look like you died, even though you aren’t.”Jack’s brows furrowed, staring at Oliver, wondering where his words were coming from.“Well, as you can see, I’m still alive.”Using his hands, h
