Rebecca rolled her eyes but let out a chuckle afterward. She went to the car, and Ray opened the passenger seat’s door.

“Don’t worry. I’ll make sure to bring her home safe and sound,” Ray assured them as he did a playful salute.

“You have my word—no scratches, no trouble, and definitely no detours… unless she insists,” he added to say, his tone teasing, as he playfully glanced at Rebecca.
