Shortly before the field trip to Drada, Jimmy is dumped by his girlfriend, Anna Campbell, who feels embarrassed for having such a poor boyfriend as him. The girl even openly flirts with Dwayne, the boy who often bullies Jimmy at school. Worse yet, Jimmy witnesses them commit lewd acts on the bus, on the way home from Drada, which then leads to disaster. The bus falls into a ravine, and Jimmy, in a dire situation with a broken spine and leg, accidentally accesses a strange system which transports him to a realm called Icalaterra. This system allows one to collect money quickly through several hunting quests. Since then, there has been no bullying, insults, and mockeries, without any consequences.

Matteo and Sylvie are unaware of the generational curse that has befallen Sylvie's family . Professor Beth informs him that there was a way out, but it was dangerous. If he decides to seek down and eliminate a spirit, the spirit will be aware that it is being pursued.
