Owen no longer had the wealth that had buoyed him for so long, and found himself helpless. The Steeles we're unhappy with the turn of events, and over the years, they seemed to forget whom Owen once was. They insulted and mistreated him, even turned his own wife against him. Kate cheated on Owen countless times, and treated him with disregard until one day, Owen suddenly got fed up and left. He would one day become king, no matter what.” -------- This is my first novel on the platform, so my pacing and world-building aren't the best, but it gets better with time. The story is set in a medieval world, somewhere in an alternate version of ancient Europe. At first the tone focuses more on war and basic politics, but as the story progresses, there will be more magic/fantasy elements added - like dragons, witches and fables.
