Chapter 2

      October 21, 2017. Winchester.

Two days ago.

"Show is over, fuckers, you can start going now."

A plumpy blonde stood over the table of the three middle-aged drinking men. One of them with scanty beards looked up at the woman in disgust, slurring the words,

"What in the world is wrong with waitresses of these days. You live off us and yet you think you can be the master of whatever words you deem fit?"

The blonde wielding a recent glare scoffed,

"Tell you what, asshat, I don't have to answer your dimwitted question. All I know is, when I'm back, you'll wish you were gone. At least look around and see that you're the only miserable lots littering this bar."

She scorned as she walked away,

"As though they could pay all they debts."

The asshat pushed his chair back in rage to make for the woman, staggering, almost losing his stance and falling off. But the plain faced of them with dirty curls for a hair and huge brown eyes held his wrist and pulled him back into the seat.

"Let's go, mate. We'll finish what we started elsewhere. And if you're so hungry to beat someone, you know you have a punching bag at home."

The scanty bearded shook his wrist off, standing up again,

"Make up your own words, Jacob. And stop taking credit for mine."

And instead of walking towards the bar stand, he staggered around the table in the direction of the small door of the pub.

"Catch up with me, fuckers. If you can."

Jacob stood up and made to walk away but then the man next to him who wanted to do the say crashed into the table, and the six empty bottles of vodka became shattered on the floor.

"I told you to drink as much as you can bear, turd."

He helped the fellow up, holding dearly unto him. They began to walk towards the door. The drunk leading the dead drunk.

"My dick itches."

The man who was been led cackled, as they walked through the door of the pub.

"You'll put it to use. Get home first. Else, no sane lady would lay with a drunk ass. Even being in a right mind, a random lady would go for a young man."

The man laughed drunkenly,

"They are always about the money."

"You will spend your three months income on a stray bitch for one night? What about your woman?"

"To hell with her. She dare not ask me. She doesn't have a death wish!"

He cackled again.

"Slow down or you'll walk into a running truck, asshat!"

Jacob called at the scanty bearded folk walking ahead of them. Hurrying towards the path of the cemetery.

The three men worked at the same engineering company, doing many and dirty works. Though they met one another after rugged lives in college, yet their friendship had come in handy that they do whatever they wanted to in unison.

Even up to the fact that, when this beats his wife, he dares the other to do same if he has such balls. And by that act, Jacob had been forged into a ruthless bot who had made a punching bag of his beautiful wife because she refused to bare him a child, not even a girl. She'd proposed that they adopt a baby for the meantime, but he'd refused point blank, bewitched by his cohort.

"Speaking of dick, check out the ghost walking towards us."

Jacob called, tossing his head at his front. There was a lady covered halfway by the thickness of the gloom falling on that hour of the day. Twas 8PM.

"Shut up, dweeb. You watch too much horror movies."

The scanty bearded dismissed. The other man muttered,

"My blood rises at the talk of a woman."

The lady was closing her pace towards them and they could all see clearly.

"Ignore her. She's pregnant."

The soft side of Jacob warned but the other fellow had strutted forward, in a tottering manner. His wet lips paving for the dirty tongue, which he flaunted graciously.

"My pulse rises at the sight of you angel. I'm certain the foetus won't say otherwise."

The last man of them was the only who'd scaled through college. The remaining two were dropouts. And you could say, fate brought them together.

"Let her go."

Jacob shot, but the scanty bearded had joined the other fellow as they guided the lady out of the way, into the nearest lawn by the roadside. Few metres ahead is the cemetery.

Few words short, as the scanty bearded fellow covered the mouth of the pregnant lady, the other fellow had his way with her, going in and out of her.

After few moments, the scanty bearded took his turn as the other fellow covered her mouth. He had his turn too.

And not to feel out of class, because he knew what consequences would come after that, Jacob had his way with the woman too, while the other two held her down: as one covered the face, another fiddling with her titties.

But the pressure of the scanty bearded was too much on her nostrils. Since he was drunk, he couldn't discern the sane from insane. His eyes quirky and wild as he laughed and the other fellow responded with a cackle.

And when they were done with the lady, it was too late. She was no longer breathing. Though she had fought to catch her breath, but to them, it was tantamount to wanting to break free from pleasure she was serving. Probably if they were in their right senses, they wouldn't had gone to that length.

"She's not moving."

Jacob warned suddenly, eyes bulging at his sockets. But the two kept making a joke of it.

"I bet she enjoyed it."

The scanty bearded tossed.

"Do you start running after seggs, bruh? You're so dumb!"

Jacob's face had melted into that which was trained by fear and curiosity. He shook the lady again but she wasn't responding.

"She's not moving."

He sprung to his feet, distancing himself as though he'd just seen a ghost. Well, a corpse was lying there. Before his eyes.

"Twas your fault, Jabes. You had her last."

The scanty bearded was quick to say. Twas always easy for him to toss the blame in whatever direction he wished.

"No you did, bozo. You covered her nostrils and wouldn't let her breathe."

"Are you pushing the blame on me?"

The scanty bearded lunged at Jacobs but the other man stepped,

"Will you both quit being foolish? Having our necks will solve nothing. Let's find a way before the cops find out or someone."

Those were quite some words a drunk man could hardly say. You could say, her death nudged them into borrowed consciousness.

"I say we run away."

The scanty bearded proposed. But Jacob snapped,

"Fool! All our fingerprints are here. It's just a matter of time before we'd be found."

The third guy,

"Let's bury her. We are close to a cemetery."

"Makes sense."

Jacob's face was pale but there was little he could do.

After few more moments, they had finished burying the lady. They had found an empty pit in the heart of the cemetery and had buried her.

"Let us never meet again."

Jacob shot in rage, looking from one man to the other. He was standing beside the shabbily covered mound of earth which had a small opening at its side. Twas dark and they could hardly see.

"Is that a threat you asshole?"

The scanty bearded lunged but the other man wasn't in for a struggle, he was off running away.

"Jacob is right. It'll only make it easy for us to be caught."

He called, running away like a shot cougar.

"What were you doing out late?"

A lady with a long silk hair stood at the door of the shabby bungalow as it opened to her husband.

"Who told you I owe you words?"

He pushed her out of the way, but she wouldn't give in as she hurried after him into the unkept parlor.

"What's that smell? It's not only alcohol. It's smells rotten egg."

She got to him, but as soon as he removed his cloth and threw them on the old sofa, to reveal his saggy body and short, he made for the hallway which led to his room.

But she followed him, keen on getting a reply,

"Jacob, I'm talking to you?"

She touched him, holding his shoulder. And as he spun around, he sent her falling back with a daze of heavy fist.

"Pack your load and leave my house."

He barked at her and slammed his door. But used to the assault, she sprung to her feet almost immediately and hurried to the door, banging at the door and chewing,

"What did you do, Jacob? Will you put us in trouble?"

"There's no us, bitch!!!"

He yelled at her from the inside. He called again,

"You have few days to leave, you barren whore!"

She pressed her back to the door and slid down. Sobbing.
