Tension can be felt around the living room as everyone saw each other. The 5 freshmen who was chosen by high quality swords will stay under the same roof. It was something that the headmistress put up with, obviously. Kenrick then entered the place as he closed the squeaking door behind him. He placed his bags down as he then stared at each one of his new roommates. He made things clear earlier, so they are not even bothering on talking to him. But then,

“Hi, Kendrick!” greeted a pink-haired girl as she the cheerfully approached Kendrick.

It was obvious by now that Eleanor is the joyful member of this cottage. Everyone is just serious as they looked at Kendrick. Eleanor reached her hand out at Kendrick with a smile on her face that reaches her ears,

“Glad to be your roommate!” she cheered.

Kendrick looked at her with his empty eyes,

“I thought I told you earlier, I have no intention on being all chummy with you guys. Now, get out of the way and let me go to my room upstairs.” Kendrick replied as he then grabbed his bags and went past Eleanor as she left her hanging.

 However, when he thought that he just severed the potential connection there, Eleanor just giggled as she then followed Kendrick while skipping. As Kendrick went past this big Black guy, who was Jonathan Skyles, the one who also received a devil sword, Jonathan then called Kendrick who responded by looking back.

“I understand what you meant earlier because this school is also our steppingstone to success. However, don’t you need comrades who will watch your backs?” Jonathan asked.

Kendrick was about to answer when the brown-haired boy with tanned skin spoke as he sat on the green couch,

“Let him be, Joe. He is a high and mighty idiot who thinks he can achieve everything alone. He clearly underestimates us. However, if I’m to be honest, he is a complete novice based on his aura alone. No harsh feelings or intentions, I’m just telling the truth.” Stated the guy who was Sylvester Archangel who received a holy sword earlier.

“Yeah, let him be. After all that talk earlier, he will not live to our expectation with that attitude and idiocy.” Followed by a silver-haired girl who was Sevie.

Eleanor is now certain of it that it was the worst idea to put them all together here, as they literally are a time bomb that can explode at any given time. After all that, Kendrick chuckled, even though his eyes are still empty as hell.

“Did you not hear a thing I said? I thought I clearly stated that I will use this school as a steppingstone to become stronger, I did not specifically say that I am already strong. Now, who’s the idiots?” Kendrick replied to all of them as it pissed Sevie and Sylvester.

The two drew their swords and released aura, Kendrick did the same, however, they all noticed that something was weird. They can’t fully draw their swords; it was if it was refusing to come out of their scabbards. Jonathan who tried to stand in between and drew his sword experienced the same thing. Eleanor was just relaxed, and she sighed in disappointment as it was clear that all of them did not study about swords yet. She then explained to them in a loud voice that they won’t be able to draw their swords if they aren’t making any official contract with the spirits within their swords. Which means, the swords are not allowed to show their true selves yet until that time. Then everyone calmed down as they wen to put their sword back. Kendrick picked his bag up as he then went upstairs to go to his room. The doors of the room have name plaques on it to let the students know where they will be staying. This is another new one to Kendrick as he never really had his own room since in the church, they are sleeping together in the same room. He went to the end of the second floor as he then saw his room at the left corner, he was next to this Angelique Riggs and in front of his room was Eleanor’s room. It turns out that there are 6 students staying in this room, maybe the other one is another scholar of the headmistress. Kendrick then opened his room as he turned the key on the doorknob to unlock it. It was just a small room with simple furniture. The bed is not that special either as it is just a wooden frame with a white cushion, blanket, and pillows. There’s a small closet a window just on the above the bed to the left. There’s a little fan on the ground and a simple study table with a small lamp. Everything is just simple. Kendrick closed the door, he put his stuff down on the bed as he then opened the window to let in some fresh air. He lied on the bed as he looked at the ceiling. His life is now completely changed and there will be no turning back now. As he rested on his bed, he didn’t notice that he suddenly fell asleep. He was now expecting the same dream, however, it was different. He was in this all-white place and there was nothing around him. The whiteness and nothingness stand out. Kendrick walked around, until he heard voices talked,

“Let’s get this settled, shall we, brat?” asked a man’s husky voice.

“Shut up, you fiend. Don’t talk to master like that!” snapped a girl’s voice as 2 entities suddenly appeared in front of Kendrick.

A black smoke with red eyes then appeared, and then a shining light followed on its left with golden eyes. Kendrick narrowed his eyes a little as it was definitely blinding. After a few seconds, the light got decreased and he now can see the figures clearly. The two are just hovering in front of him.

“Who- What are you, exactly?” Kendrick asked.

But deep down, he somehow knows what they are,

“We are the spirits that dwells in your swords. I’m a lady warrior of the heavens, and this is an ugly warrior of hell. In short, we are the ones who chose you to be our master.” Explained the white slight as her eyes obviously shows how glad she was on finally meeting her master.

“Just like the holy one said, we are the ones who chose you, and we are here to finally make an official contract.” Says the devil.

 But that threw Kendrick off. He then pointed out that he will not cooperate with a demon that is the same being that killed his entire family. The devil felt disappointed as Kendrick clearly doesn’t know the big difference between a devil and a demon. The holy entity then told Kendrick to calm down as she agrees with the devil just this time. They then explained to him that despite the disagreement between the 2 entities, especially when they are from heaven and hell, they are to work together to eradicate the demons that have escaped hell 50 years ago. So, the two then told Kendrick that there is no other choice but to team up as the 3 have the same goal. Kill the demons lurking everywhere.

“I will agree on working together with you both, however, don’t expect me to fully accept you, devil. One of your kind have slew my entire family. In short, I would just use your powers like I have to. That’s all there is to it in this agreement. What I want is vengeance, nothing else.” Kendrick expressed with those words that is filled with rage, but his eyes only have emptiness.

Kendrick then asked how the contract would be, and it was very simple. The spirits instructed Kendrick to wake up, draw his swords and then slightly cut his hands with the swords and let it be dripping with his blood. In that way, the swords will now show their true forms and the contract will be done. Kendrick agreed as he was then woken up. He thought that he only spent at least 30 minutes there, however, when he woke up and looked at the window, it was already night. He looked at the wall clock as it then showed that it was midnight already. Nevertheless, Kendrick picked the swords from his bed as he stood up. He drew the two, the devil’s sword is at his left and the holy one is at his right hand. He then tossed the two and caught it by the blades with his bare hands. Blood dripped down the swords, and then, light shined, both black and white. However, things went south immediately. Because an explosion just happened, and half of the cottage was destroyed, and it woke up the entire campus. Mrs. Hilty who was handling some documents then heard the explosion as she then went towards it. The students from the different dorms followed while still being in their pajamas as this might be an attack from some demons. They reached the scene to witness another outstanding moment. 5 of the freshmen was levitating up in the air as their own swords’ floats around them as the swords are now awakened and is now showing their true forms.
