Injecting the Plot

Information rushed to Raymond's head as soon as he clicked the word "Inject." It was the button for him to have the plot and learn what the destined incident was supposed to happen. And as it rushed to his mind, he was calm, sitting on his bed with no particular expression.

It was as if he was listening to music that brought a few colors to his eyes. Even with his eyes closed, he still saw plenty of dashing colors in a form called memory.

The information became part of his memory, and that made Raymond accustomed to what would happen in the future. There were plenty of unwanted and crucial moments before the Awakening Ceremony, and in this chapter one covered his whole one-year training after the Awakening Ceremony as well.

There was plenty of information ranging from the easiness of it all, to loving moments, problems, etc. But what was crucial was the information about things around him that he was supposed to not know before.

In the political affairs that brought him difficulties, there was a thing like that in this plot. And as the injection of the plot stopped, Raymond let out a dispirited sigh.

"What kind of life was that? In a ratio, at least 3 happy moments out of 10 moments, and the rest are issues. Is this what the Dragon King calls challenges?"

Raymond then smiled as he let go of his grip and dropped his body onto the bed.

"This kind of life... should I say that I will enjoy it? I didn't know what kind of life I wanted, but these memories and the will of the real Dragon King in his youth were still inside me."

"I wanted to be the greatest of them all. This is what my heart shouts, and I am not against it. How should I put it? My consciousness might tell me that it is an absurd goal, but my subconsciousness longs for it."

Raymond wasn't a practical person either. He was still a child with fantasies about what he wanted to happen to him. And it was undeniable that he knew that he wanted it too.

"This is making me excited. What could my life in this world be like with this system? Before these doom days come to me one by one, I will survive them all.

Mission #2 of Chapter One: Enjoy your youth with your friends.

---

"Ah... What is this? What is this supposed to mean? I have friends, but why should it be a mission for me? Oh... That is right. Maybe after our childhood, there will be a few cracks that damage our relationship." Raymond guessed.

It wasn't helpful to be negative, but these negative thoughts were now all welcome for him to think since he knew that this life would have plenty of doom days. And even though he still doesn't know what will happen in the years after five, he was able to have some speculation by having the fiction tales back his speculation.

If it was just for doom days, at least he had plenty of harsh endings back on Earth. Even with how he should think positively, the use of negativity was crucial for this life.

But then, as he was in the midst of thinking, a sudden exclamation in his head rang. It was unbearable as it was. It was like a needle piercing through his brain.

His nerves twitched as he endured all the pain without shouting. He knew there had to be something to this pain...

...

Raymond lost his consciousness and remained laying down on his bed, sleeping peacefully for the entire day.

The next day, it was like a hangover for him. His head was heavy, and it hurt like he had experienced brain trauma. But even with it, he was still okay.

"Just what happened to me...?" Raymond pondered, then looked around at his surroundings.

If there were no changes, then why did he suddenly feel that pain? There must be changes here, even if not in the surroundings, at least internally.

He let out a sigh and opened his windows. It was the morning. Did he perhaps sleep the entire day? It was obvious that he did.

And then, he closed his eyes to try to remember what happened yesterday. It was as if some memories that didn't belong at the time were lingering in his mind.

"Right... I injected the plot. Was this all of it?"

Even though he could remember it, he wasn't aware that the memories and the emotions in the plot were also injected into him. He only carried on as if it was normal; he got accustomed to it and the will of the real Dragon King had fully merged with him.

There were no more questions about living a normal life. At least now he had some greed and ambition. That was what happened to him. The pain was a sign of his real self rejecting the will and emotions of the previous Dragon King.

As Raymond's will was weak, the suppression ended with a short pain of an entire hour. But Raymond's endurance was only as weak as that of a normal human who had not awakened. Thus, he was weak with mental pain.

Raymond filled his nose with the fresh air, feeling the breeze of the wind, which had a small chill to it. It was cool, to be precise, and his nostrils were tingling from the freshness he felt.

It was an amazing experience. Furthermore, it was a life in the rural, and it was truly magnificent because of how peaceful it was.

"Hey, Raymond! Have you already recovered?! Come, we are going to play at the small hill!"

What took Raymond's attention was the small voice of a kid who was pushing himself to shout. It was Raymond's friend, Arthur, and also one of his childhood friends.

Raymond smiled and waved at his friend.

"Thank you for the invite, Arthur, but I still don't feel like leaving the house. Maybe tomorrow." Raymond explained to his friend. Then, Arthur nodded and waved back with a smile.

"See you tomorrow!"

Raymond went to see his friend disappear from his sight and let out a sigh afterward. He still couldn't believe that those words were naturally leaving his mouth. This should really mean that the will of the real Dragon King has merged with his.

"Well, it isn't a bad thing. At least I don't feel guilty since I don't feel that I robbed this life from its real owner." Raymond mumbled, then decided to leave the window and reach the door of his room.

He decided to see his family and talk with them. Even with just a small story from Earth, posing as his dream, he wanted to feel the warmth of a family once again.
