The chameleon

Saul shook his head,sadly.

Saul stared at the man that he had once considered a brother, everything he said made it harder to believe that they had both once been kids that had hated adults and vowed not to become like those adults that they hated, well , they had become exactly that.

He could not even actively hate on the man because even he had done exactly that,become one of those adults that they had hated.

Saul chuckled.

Who was he kidding?

They had become even worse.

"Remember when I told you about my shitty father and you said no matter what we did, we would never become like our parents or any adults that we hated?",He asked Vasquez with a little tilt of his head.

Vasquez lifted his head to stare at Saul, he had never recalled that conversation before but now that Saul mentioned it, it was suddenly as clear as day in his mind .

Saul snorted bitterly.

He remembered it very well,it had been a Sunday and they had gone to the neighborhood church to wait around.
