Chapter 7 Do you think you deserve to be our leader?

After Zane dealt with Charles and his gang. He set of to the Royal organization. It was time to take over the organization.

He called for a meeting around nine o’clock. When he got to the organization, he saw seven out if fourteen elders. He looked around wondering what really happened because from his investigation, he found out they were fourteen in all so how come he only saw half.

“ Where are the rest of the elders?”, he asked the elders presented.

“We do not know boss, they  might be on their way,” the third elder replied. The truth was the other seven members didn’t like Zane, to them Zane was only a stranger out of nowhere. He can’t be their boss.

Zane stared at the first elder and could sense that he was lying. He sat down and waited patiently for them.

An hour later, the members all arrived, they saw Zane sitting calmly on the chair, they all pretended not to have known him and sat down without greetings.

“May I know why you are late?” Zane leaned on his chair and asked in a lazy tone.”

“Do you think you have the right to ask us such a question? We haven’t accepted you as our leader. Don’t overestimate yourself,” the first elder replied with a harsh tone. He was triggered by his question.

“And why do you think I don’t have the right to ask this question?” He inquired coolly, he wasn’t angered by his answer.

“You are a total stranger who out of nowhere became our leader, you haven’t been in any organization before, you are just a weakling who was beating during your time of prison, why do you think you have the right to be our Lord?”

The first elder was really furious. His son has been serving this organization with all his life. He devoted all his time in this organization but at the end of the day, the long lost ring was given to someone from no where. He had been searching for this ring for almost seven years, who would have thought that the ring would have end up in the hands of an ex- convict.

“Ow! is that what you think? and who told you I am a weakling. I am going to have a fight with the most strongest person in this organization, and if I  am able to beat him; you would have no choice but to accept me as your leader.” Zane declared without leaving any room for negotiation.

“And what if you lose? the second elder asked with interest.

“If I lose, I will never step foot in this organization. The ring would be given to the winner, he answered with no emotion on his face.”

“Great! the first elder slapped his thighs excitedly. He believed in his son. His son was the strongest person in this organization; no one had been able to beat him apart from the previous ring bearer.  It seems nature was on his side today.

“Fine, you should fulfil your promise when you lose. I know you would be a man of his words. The fifth elder, who hoped the first elder's son would become their leader chimed in.

“Ok then, tell him he has fifteen minutes to prepare, Zane said and got out. There was no need for him to prepare. He believes in himself. Yes, it was true he was a weakling, but he is no more.

…Flash back….

Every evening, a group of men will beat  Zane before he goes to bed. This became a nightmare for him. One day, when the men came to beat as usual, he was save by an old man.

“Our punching bag, it's time to stretch our muscles,” one of the bullies smirked and stretched his arms.

“What have I done to deserve this beating every day? can’t you let me go?” he said with a painful tone. Been here every day was like a living hell. He doesn’t understand why they bully him everyday. He remembers clearly he hasn’t offended any.

“No one asked you to offend the big boss. He instructed us to make life difficult for you, so we are carrying out orders.” Another person chimed in without feeling sorry for him.

The first bully raised his fist to punch him, Zane close his eyes and protected his head with his hands waiting for their next actions. He didn’t feel any pain after a couple of minutes. He opened his eyes to see what was happening, and saw the person who was about to beat him hands held by an old man.

“You old fool, let go of my hands,” the leader of the gang cursed him and tried to get rid of his grip but the old man was too strong.

Everybody was astonished because of the strength the old man carries.

“What are you all standing there for? beat him up,” he roared to his members.

They all charged forward. And the other prisoners were all focused on the fight. It was like a war movie. Some too were feeling pity for the old man. Zane was part of the people who were praying the old man wouldn’t be hurt.

Before the other bullies could punch the old man, they were already wailing on the floor.

Wow! The prisoners gasped in shocked. They didn’t see the old man lifting his finger or moving his legs. It all happened in a twinkle of an eye.

When the leader of the bully realized he was on the loose side, he began to plead for his life.

“Forgive me, master, I promise not to repeat today's mistake again.” He begged.

“Really, then promised you are not going to bully anybody again?” said the old man.

“Yes, yes I promise it would happen again,” he nodded quickly. All he wanted now is for the old man to let go of his hand.

“If you are really remorseful, as you have said, then kneel down and beg the young man’s forgiveness.” The old man said.

Sure, he agreed without a second thought, the old man lead him to Zane.

“ Please forgive, me it wouldn’t happen again,” the leader of the bully bowed his head and pleaded unwillingly.

“ Its alright, I hope you fulfill your promise, “ Zane forgave them. There was no need to drag this issue since they have apologized to him.

The old man leg of his hand and all the bullies left quickly like they were being chased.

Thank you for your help, Zane was grateful, if not for the old man, he would have suffered tonight.
