Chapter 001
A thin mist drifted through the tall trees on the outskirts of Elmridge. Deep in the untouched forest, stood an old, modest grave.
No fence. No flowers. Just a gray headstone with rough carvings: "Zion Kallius – The Sky Ruler Who Never Bowed." Kael stood before it, hands in his pockets, his expression a mix of weariness and mild disgust. "Gramps, let’s be real here…" he muttered, nudging a few pebbles near his feet. "If you were still alive, I would've dragged you to the Laurent house and made you feel what it’s like being their son-in-law!" He sighed, then dropped himself onto the roots of a nearby tree, leaning back casually against the tombstone. "Three years, Gramps. Three years. I kept my head down. I swallowed my pride. I played the full-time jobless loser they called ‘trash’, ‘burden’, ‘worthless son-in-law’. Even that thick-eyebrowed aunt said yesterday I was lower than their pet dog. Isn’t it impressive I held back this long?" He chuckled softly. Not bitter, but not exactly amused either. "If it weren’t for what you told me back then... maybe she’d be eating through a feeding tube by now." A faint smile tugged at the corner of his lips. "But yeah, I get it. You owed your friend, and I followed through. Three years protecting the Laurent family. Working from the shadows. Taking every insult. But..." He stood up, brushing leaves off his pants. His tone shifted—calmer, deeper. "One more month, Gramps. One more month, and it’s over. After that... I won’t have to fake being weak anymore. I won’t have to be the worthless in-law in their eyes." From his jacket pocket, he pulled out an old dragon-shaped pendant. It shimmered faintly, glowing under the light. "After this, I’ll live as myself. Not a shadow. Not a puppet. And anyone who underestimated me..." Kael tucked the pendant back into his pocket and smiled. "Yeah… hope they’re ready to be surprised." Suddenly, Kael’s phone buzzed in his pocket. When he pulled it out, the cracked screen lit up with a familiar name—Evelyne Laurent, his wife. Kael raised an eyebrow, then answered, “Yes, Your Highness, how may I assist you?” “Grandma’s birthday party. Eight tonight. Don’t be late.” No greeting. No pause. Just an order. Kael glanced up at the sky and mumbled, “Damn, even G****e Maps is more polite.” “I’ve sent fifty thousand dollars to your account. Get her a gift. Something appropriate,” Evelyne added. Kael lowered the phone for a second, eyeing the notification that popped up. [Transfer: $50,000 – Evelyne Laurent] He squinted slightly. Not at the amount—but at the way she did it. “So, I get sent money, told to buy something, then show up and play nice? Is this the new way to be a husband?” “Kael, please take this seriously. You’re representing me and my family tonight. Don’t mess it up.” “The same family that won’t even acknowledge I exist?” Silence on the other end. Kael smirked. “Relax, I get it. Expensive gift, fancy vibe, all for appearances. I can pretend to be dignified for a few hours.” “I don’t have time for jokes. I need to get ready. Don’t cause trouble.” Click. Call ended. Kael stared at the black screen. He exhaled slowly, then muttered to himself. “Yeah, yeah. I’m the bonus husband—buy the gift, bring the gift, then step aside for the family photos.” He started heading down the gravel path, shoes crunching quietly. “But alright... a gift’s a gift. If they want something ‘worthy’... I’ll give them something that shuts everyone up. Might as well show a little glimpse of who the ‘trash son-in-law’ really is.” Kael walked toward the city. In his pocket, the old dragon pendant pulsed with warmth. The world might still see him as a nobody. But soon... that label would be ashes. --- At this point, Kael arrived beneath a run-down building that looked like an abandoned warehouse. The walls were cracked, the paint peeling. But Kael knew better than to judge by appearances. This place was actually a secret, exclusive auction house—home to historical treasures, heirlooms, and even rare energy-infused artifacts. Of course, only a select few in the city knew of it—those with serious influence. Kael approached. Two men in dark suits stood at the steel door. Their eyes were sharp, sizing him up from head to toe. “Invitation?” one of them asked, cold and flat. Kael didn’t respond. Instead, he pulled the dragon pendant from his pocket and held it up in the air. In an instant, the atmosphere shifted. The guards’ eyes widened. Their faces turned pale. “T-That’s...!” They exchanged glances. One of them immediately bowed and pressed a hidden button on the wall. “P-Please wait a moment, sir... we’re informing the boss right away.” Kael gave a small nod, slipping the pendant back into his jacket. It wasn’t long before a well-dressed middle-aged man appeared, flanked by two attendants. His eyes trembled slightly at the sight of Kael, and he bowed deeply. Paul William, the shadow ruler of Elmridge. His name wasn’t in any law book, but every mayor, police chief, and CEO in the city knew—this city ran because he allowed it. He wasn’t a hero. Not a villain either. Paul was something in between—a king of the underworld who ruled with a strict code, not brute force. He built his empire from the shadows: through hidden corridors, silent deals, and the trust of people who couldn’t rely on a broken system. Compared to him, the Laurent family? They were nothing. Like a firefly in a vast forest. And yet, this powerful man greeted Kael with fear and respect. “Welcome… Your Excellency, Lord of the Sky Dragon Sect.” The attendants behind Paul bowed deeply, not daring to meet Kael’s eyes. “I never imagined... you would honor my humble place with your presence. It’s truly an honor for the Dragon Lord to come in person.” Kael replied, “I’m just looking for something to give my wife’s grandma.” “As it happens, the auction is about to begin, Your Excellency. Whatever you need, whatever you desire, this place is yours. I’ll prepare a VIP room and a private passage.” Kael answered flatly, “No need. I’m just browsing. I’ll leave once I find what I want. I’ll sit with the regular crowd.” Without waiting for a reply, Kael stepped inside. And the world changed. Inside, it was like a hidden five-star hotel—crystal chandeliers, red carpets, black-glass walls. Guests wore tuxedos, evening gowns, and some even had masks. Kael hung his jacket by the entrance, revealing a simple black shirt underneath. Not fancy, but his presence was calm, firm. He took participant card #077 and sat toward the back.Expand

The Hidden Supreme Son-in-Law Chapter 354
Four hours had passed.During that time, Kael didn't stop training. He practiced the Forced Opening of Eight Gates technique two more times, ensuring he perfectly understood how to flow spiritual energy with the right precision. Each attempt made him increasingly familiar with the sensation of the eight gates beginning to open inside his body. The pain was still there, still terrifying, but Kael was already used to it.Besides that, he also spent time adjusting himself to the sword Chen Tianwei had given him. That sword was extraordinary. Its blade was a beautiful bluish-white color, like ice crystal frozen on the highest mountain peak. Soft light radiated from its blade, creating a stunning gleam.Along the blade, carved dragon motifs very detailed and intricate. That dragon seemed alive, winding gracefully from the base to the tip of the sword. The sword's handle was made of a material Kael didn't know, but felt very comfortable in his grip. And most impressive was its weight. That

Kael took a long breath, then closed his eyes.He began flowing spiritual energy from his dantian very carefully. That energy began flowing through his meridians. Then he tried dividing it into eight streams. However—The energy flow he divided was unbalanced. Some too strong, some too weak. And when he tried pressing the eight points simultaneously—CRACK!The spiritual energy inside his body exploded!"ARGH!"Kael screamed!Great pain struck his body, like thousands of needles piercing from within! He immediately opened his eyes, his face pale, cold sweat flowing on his forehead.Chen Tianwei nodded with a calm expression, "That's very natural. Failing on the first attempt is normal. Even I failed thousands of times before succeeding."He looked at Kael with an encouraging gaze."Try again."Kael took a long breath. He closed his eyes again. This time, he was far more careful. He flowed spiritual energy at a slower speed, more controlled. Then he divided it into eight streams very,

The Hidden Supreme Son-in-Law Chapter 352
When Kael and Chen Xueyi's battle ended with a very fast and impressive victory, Chen Tianwei realized something suspicious. All the Grand Elders—except himself—moved toward Chen Mingxia's pavilion with quick steps full of seriousness.Chen Tianwei watched with a serious expression. He didn't need to be smart to know they had a big plan.A plan to stop Kael.Did they not want his disciple to win this tournament?Chen Tianwei was very sure, that was the answer. They wouldn't let a disciple from the Lower World win this very prestigious sect tournament. Therefore, he needed to inform Kael about this.Immediately, Chen Tianwei rose from his seat and headed to his pavilion with quick steps. As soon as he arrived at his pavilion, he immediately went to the back courtyard. There, on the flat stone, Kael sat cross-legged calmly.Eyes closed, breath regular, spiritual energy flowing smoothly around his body, creating a very thin but clear silver aura.Realizing Chen Tianwei had arrived, Kael

But his master, Elder Qingshan, told him that Elder Mingxia had a way to give him a great chance to win.And he of course took it.Without hesitation!Without thinking twice! This wasn't just for himself. This was for the Heaven-Piercing Sacred Dragon Sect's pride! How could the tournament in this sect be won by a lowly human from the Lower World?!How could they let the sect's face be trampled like this?!This would be humiliating! This would destroy the sect's reputation before the entire Upper World! Therefore, he was willing to do anything, even when it used dirty methods!Whatever it took, as long as Kael didn't win!Hearing that answer full of determination, Chen Mingxia nodded with a very satisfied expression. A small smile appeared on her face. A cold smile full of satisfaction. Then, from the storage ring on her finger, she took out something.A pill.A very deep blood-red pill. Such an intense red color it almost looked black. That pill floated in the air slowly. A very terr

The Hidden Supreme Son-in-Law Chapter 350
Chen Wuji rose from his magnificent throne. With a voice amplified by spiritual energy so it was heard very clearly throughout the arena, he said, "The semi-final round has ended, won by Chen Yunfei and Li Xin!"He paused briefly, letting that announcement sink in. Then he continued in a firm tone, "The final round will be held four hours from now! To both finalists, rest well. The final battle is before your eyes!"After that announcement, Chen Wuji descended from his throne with calm steps. The spectators began dispersing slowly. However, unlike the previous day, this time there was no same enthusiasm. No excited discussions about who would win. No debates about the strength of both finalists. Clearly, they hoped the final round wouldn't be held.Of course, that was because they could guess Kael would win. No doubt about it!He... was too strong. And Chen Yunfei wouldn't be able to handle him.Although Chen Yunfei was strong, although he defeated Chen Ruoxue brilliantly, but compare

The referee stood between Kael and Chen Xueyi. With a voice amplified by spiritual energy, he said, "The match rules are very simple. The battle continues until one party cannot continue or surrenders. Do you both understand?"Kael nodded calmly.Chen Xueyi also nodded, but her face showed a very serious expression. Her calm face from the day before had completely disappeared. That was because her opponent this time was very strong, who was able to defeat Chen Yuelin! She couldn't be loose at all. She had to win, to gain appreciation from her parents and master! The referee continued, "Before the battle begins, you both must respect each other."Kael and Chen Xueyi looked at each other, then both clasped hands in front of their chests and bowed slightly. The referee raised his hand high."Prepare!"Total silence occurred.Kael stood with a very calm expression. In his hand, he held an ordinary white sword that Elder Tianwei had just given him this morning at breakfast. No luxurious or
