Chapter4 demons coming back from the past.

As the couple left the hospital and got on with their lives, a week after, the couple received a call from the blond doctor, informing them that no one had showed up to pick up the little girl.

She further informed them that the hospital had commence preparation to take the little girl to a child care management where she can be adopted.

The couple immediately rushed towards the hospital upon hearing the news, when they got to the hospital, the informed the blond doctor on their intentions to adopt zero.

After having a serous discussion with the blond doctor, the couple took the zero to the child care agency and registered her as their adopted daughter.

Since she doesn't have a name, Sara named her Evelin and so from this day forth, the evolver labeled as Zero became Evelin Parker.

Evelin became a part of the Parker families and lived happily with them, her parents were loving and caring and were always there for her, what's more, she now has a brother who will have fun with her.

She displayed unmatched performance in her academics that shocked her parents after being sent to school.

Since she was a specimen for a higher class of human bread by the force after many unbelievable experiments it wasn't surprising that she would be liegues above her classmates.

Her performance in school was too outstanding and so she earned the privilege to skip some grades and advanced rapidly in her academic studies.

Evelin didn't remember anything about her past even after 7 years went by, she leaved a normal life with her family.

However, in these 7 years, Evelin finished her elementary school and her high school altogether.

But After this calm 7 years, demons from her past are about to return and hunt her, distriying what she holds dearly.

Sunday, On sixth November 2022, Evelin and her classmates were having a high school graduation……

On this day, parents and other guadiance were arranged to sit as the audience, they all faced a platform which the school principal stood on and gave his speech.

Eveline was adorned in a fashionable graduation cloths. In a remote location, She sat together with her classmate who were all excited about the event.

"Today, we are saying goodbye to high school, am so excited" one of her classmates a slightly shot girl wearing glasses who sat close to her chirped in a cheerful voice.

"Mhh, why are you so excited to leave high school, hasn't it been fun" a cool guy sitting two sits away from them chinned in.

"Aham, I wasn't talking to you little mister Eric" the short girl remarked as she gaze him a side eye.

"You.." Eric was speechless..

In the moment of his awkwardness the other guys added to his injury by making fun and snickering at him.

"Haha, good job kait, you got'am real good" another girl sitting on the other side of Evelin gave the short girl a thumbs up.

"Mmhh, next time, he should no not to but in others conversations" kate remarked triumphantly. But then she suddenly felt that something was missing, there was no sound from Evelin who was sitting right next to her.

She tapped on Evelin. "Hay babe, what's with the silence, are you thinking about some guy.

" no, I am just thinking about my speech, honestly am feeling nervous about the whole thing." Evelin explained.

"Nervous?, girl you didn't even flinch when had our first public science project presentation so why are you like this now?" Kait was puzzled by Evelin.

"I don't know, it's just that I have this bad feeling….." Just when Evelin was about to tell kait about her worries the principal's voice which was enhanced by the microphone cut her off.

"Ladies and gentlemen, I call upon our best student of this year, Evelin Parker, make your way to the stage, our guests need you to grace them with your presence.!"

"OMG, he just called my name, I got to go" Evelin cleared her thoughts and quickly dashed unto the stage.

When she got unto the stage, the principal wore a golden medal necklace on her and handed her the microphone before saying. "Well Evelin, what words of motivation do you have to those sitting out there who are looking up to you!"

Evelin addressed the crowd with a clam expression, before speaking she swept her eyes around the audience, looking to see her family who were always there for her but to her astonishment, she didn't see anyone, not max, not her mother or even her father.

This rialization made her heart pound with unease, she had a very bad feeling about this because not once have they been absent in any of her activities.

As she drowned in her thoughts, the audience became still and all eyes were focused on her but at this exact moment, a mysterious man dressed in an expensive black suit and wearing sun glasses walked up to her and handed her a cell phone.

"Here, there's a call from your parents" he whispered to her.

Many in the audience were baffled by this uccurance, even the principal wore a bewildered expression he almost stepped on the stage to ask about what was going on.

"Hello, dad, mom, is everything alright?" Evelin asked anxiously.

Sara's voice shortly rang on the phone line. "Sweetie, just calm down, everything is alright… What ever they tell you don't listen to them…."

"Them, who are you talking about?" Evelin rushed to ask but what replied her was a husky voice that had been electronically altered in a way that is impossible to recognize the original voice.

"Listen to me clearly, we are the liberation society and we have your family, if you don't want anything bad happening to them then you better do what I tell you!"

"What do you want?"

"You don't wanna know, so do don't start asking questions princess, just leave the school and come to your house immediately, what's more, don't you dare tell any one about this and don't come here with anyone's company or I will put a bullet in their skull!"

The phone connection Immediately seized when this message was delivered.

"Hello.. Hello….. Hello?" Evelin called out three consecutive times but there was no answer, she gazed around but the mysterious man who handed her the cell phone was now nowhere to be seen.

She jolted in shock when the principal's hand suddenly smudged on her shoulders from behind. "Evelin, is there a problem, are you alright?"

"There's no problem sir, I just need to go home now, am sorry I can't do this anymore" Evelin quickly darted out of the stadium, leaving everyone around to marvel about the her strange behaviour.

The principal cleared his throat, and dressed the audience to clear their doubts.

Meanwhile, Evelin dashed out of the school in her greatest speed. Her heart pounding due to various emotion which crammed her head.

He felt, doubt, worry, unease and even fear. She prayed with all her heart that nothing happens to her family.

Even after she covered a long distance, her chest heaved up and down from her worry but not once did she pause her action. The fear of something bad happening to her family clouded her mind.

She scrambled fast in the allyway, covering two blocks before coming to an abrupt halt, she had finally arrived in her neighbourhood.

Her thoughts drifting to what might have happened to her family, she quickly dashed towards her house.

When she arrived in front of the door, she didn't see any signs of something bad happening in the area, however, this did not ease her unsteady emotional state, instead, she became more anxious.

When she opened the door, she saw that everything in the house was in shambles, the tv was broken, the furnitures were wrecked, numerous broken pieces of glasses and vases littered the floor.

Her face instantly turn gloomy because there was no sight of her family, she made a beeline for the stairs in search of them but she immediately halted her steps when an audible and rough cough rang in her ears.

When she turned to gaze at the location which the cough was coming from, she saw a middle aged man lying under a wrecked wooden sit.

The man was obviously injured, her had a fatigued expression and blood dripped from his mouth.

Evelin rushed towards his location and lifted the broken wooden sit on top of the middle aged man before helping him off the ground.

After being lifted off the ground, the man's appearance became very clear, he was someone she recognize, his familiar burly body and dense cluster of beard which packed up below his lips enabled her to immediately identify him as Martin herald, jhona's best friend.

Ever since she was adopted into the house, she became aware of Martin's existence because the poor fellow he would regularly visit this house and complain about his ex wife who deny's him from spending time with his little daughter, stellar.

Evelin helped Martin into a ragged sit beside them and started questioning him about her family "Uncle Martin, what happened here, where are my brother and my parents?"

Martin drew a deep breath to calm his fatigued containance before turning to her with a solemn expression.

"They were taking away" he said in a week voice that wasn't very audible.

"By who, who took them away?"

"I don't know them, their just some armed dudes dressed in black… They said that they were taking them into somewhere called the liberation society but I don't even know where that is"

"Oh my goodness, what am I gonna do now, why kidnap my family, what the hell do they want from me?" Evelin had her hands on her head. She was on the verge of tearing.

"They… They left something for you inside your room… They said you would understand when you see it" Martin's week voice sounded against.

"They left something for me?" Evelin was dumbfounded by this, she hastily took to the stairs and approached her room in the fastest way possible.

She banged opened the door and immediately dashed inside however, when she emerged inside the room, as if being shocked by electricity, her body suddenly jolted and stopped moving.

She seemed to have been frozen by an image which entered her sight. She was looking at a large painting in front of her which was almost her size.

The painting pictured herself or rather, the little zero who was standing in front of many other evolvers in a test room of base F3.

Evelin ain't know why but after seeing this picture of herself in a familiar but not familiar place, her mind froze and uncontrollable emotion took over her causing her thoughts to suddenly become chaotic.

From the picture, foreign images which had a great deal of impact in her mental state started flashing in her mind like pictures.

Unknown to her as the images flooded her mind, she once again used her extraordinary psychic ability and every object in the room were lifted, telepathically floating.

As painful memories of Zero from her past flooded her mind, Evelin gripped her head tightly and let out a loud holler, her hair roze and violently swayed in the air, a dense mental strength uncontrollably flooded out of her.

Influenced by her chaotic state of mind, her powers went out of control and the whole room started shaking heavily, threatening to crumble into pieces.

Just when cracks started reading in the walls and the ceiling, the turbulent surge of mental strength suddenly disappeared and Evelin was back to normal.

All the floating objects dropped and the brewing cracks seized, her entire domineer transformed and her expression become incomparably calm. At this moment, she had regained her memories of her past, she was no longer just Evelin Parker, she is now both Zero and Evelin Parker.

She operated the cell phone in her hands and dailed the number of the mysterious person who had called her and kidnapped her parents.

"Hello.. Are you one of the force, have you come to take my life away from me and turn me into your weapon?" Evelin started with asking multiple questions.

Instead of answering her question, the person started mumbling about her awakening."Well well, it looks like the plan really worked, zero you're finally back"

"Cut the crap" Evelin snapped. "What the hell are you up to by kidnapping my parents, if you had wanted me back, couldn't you have kidnapped me instead?"

"Wow zero, you've got a hot temper after coming back to yourself, just calm down and hear my explanation"

"We liberators are not the force, in fact just like you, we are mostly evolvers who have escaped from the force"

"Through various incidents, we have come to uncover that we haven't thoroughly escaped from the force, they have been watching us, monitoring our actions, after our escape, many of us have mysteriously been taken back by them"

"Our society leader, number one, the strongest of the evolvers discovered a lot of through about the force and also find out about their goel, he founded the liberation society for us revolver to free ourselves of the force and stop whatever it was that they are planning"

Evelin suddenly interjected into his statement with a question "the force are after us and you want to fight against them, what does that have to do with me, why do you have to kidnap my family?"

"Don't worry about your family, they are in good hands, I promise I won't let anything bad happen to them."

"Zero, you are very special, I don't know how but number mentioned that the grand plan of the force has a connection to your existence, we have only taken your family into a safe place because we were afraid that the force will one day use them against you"

"If you still worried about your parents, then come to discreet crow, of park belly in a train where you will meet up with them, goodbye old pal" the phone went off.
