Chapter 6

Rosalie dialed Dallas’s phone number.

“Where are you?” Rosalie asked.

“Coming from the police station?” Dallas said.

“Police station? What happened?”

“A thief snatched my wallet. I have no choice to report him because I can’t find where he was. I will soon get there. How about the contract?”

Rosalie heaved a sighed of relieved. She thought the Old Mrs. Jones had arrested Dallas.

“I will tell you when you get here. Are you trekking?”

“I have no money to take taxicab. Give me thirty minutes, prettiest.”

“Alright, I’m waiting,” Rosalie said, and hang up the call.

Twenty minutes later, while Rosalie was waiting at the entrance of the Venus company, the car of CEO Blake's second son parked before her.

Gerald Blake got down from the car, removing his eyes glasses. Rosalie was looking at the busy street and was pretending as no one was in front of her.

Gerald was wondering why Rosalie come to do in his father’s company. Is she here to marry him or his brother? Or was she here to apologize for pouring water on him?

“Hello, Rosalie,” Gerald said

Rosalie took a glance at her wristwatch, took out her phone, texting Dallas to hurry.

“I’m greeting you Rosalie,” Gerald added.

Rosalie received a text from Dallas that he was near.

Gerald was getting angry, thinking Rosalie was too proud of her beauties. Meanwhile, Gerald was one of Rosalie's mockers when she was ugly back then.

Seeing that Gerald was about to touch her, Rosalie said, “Oh!!! You are here.”

Gerald folds his hands. “So you just notice me now? I thought you have become blind or somehow deaf.”

“Excuse me, what do you want again?”

“Actually, I’m not angry about your behavior to me. I will keep chasing you till you accept to marry me.”

“How many times do you want to show you I’m not interested in you?”

“Are you kidding me? I’m a billionaire, and the son of a billionaire. You are pretty beyond marrying a poor man.”

Rosalie’s eyes reddened in anger. “Mind your business.”

Gerald smiled and brought out a lot of neat dollars. “Just take this to take taxicab.”

Rosalie collected the money and threw it to his face. And by that time, someone carried her from behind, away from Gerald. And the person was Dallas.

“Oh!!! You scared me,” Rosalie said, smiling on Dallas's arm. “Put me down.”

“I feel like no putting you down till we get home, prettiest. You have a prettiest face, and a prettiest heart,” Dallas said, making Rosalie blush.

Gerald felt ashamed as every passerby was watching him standing before his money on the floor. It humiliate him completely. How dare that poor man take her away without my permission? He even carried her with his arm.

Rubbing his head in anger, Gerald entered the car, leaving his money swirling in the air. Driving the car into the Venus company, he vows to himself that the poor man will regret it.

In the Old Mrs. Jones’s mansion. The Jones’s family were having a meeting about how to get the contract from the Venus company. They didn’t believe Rosalie can get it.

“The security won’t allow Rosalie to enter the gate of Venus company, not to talk of getting the contract,” Mr. Mason, Rosalie’s uncle, had said.

“Her Dallas won’t escape my punishment if she failed,” the old Mrs. Jones had said.

Michael and Dinah were silent during the meeting, because they’re the parents with low classes. Even if they suggest an opinion, the Jones’s family would count the opinion as useless.

“I will like you to give my daughter the chance to get the contract,” Uncle Mason said to the grandma.

Linda, who sat beside her father, smiled elegantly.

Linda was Uncle’s Mason's favorite daughter because she married from the Willams’s family. Williams’ family is one of the millionaire families in the New York, and they had some connections with Venus company.

“When would this meeting end? My friends are waiting for me somewhere,” Susan, the Rosalie’s older sister said.

“You useless daughter,” Grandma said in furious. “You didn’t care about the growth of this family.”

“I heard Susan was a lesbian,” Mrs. Xenia, the Rosalie’s aunty, said.

Michael and Dinah were staring at the floor. They felt ashamed of Susan’s behavior. Dinah had warned Michael never to bring Susan to this meeting. But because Michael loves Susan, he brought her to convince the Old Mrs. Jones to give Susan the chance to get the contract.

Now that Susan had hurt Michael’s expecting, Michael regret disobeying his wife’s simple instruction.

“A lesbian?” Grandma asked. “Michael’s family is a disgrace to Jones’s family. My husband will feel so sad to hear this in heaven.”

A rapidly knock came from the door, and Michael told Susan to open the door quickly.

When Susan unlocked the door, Rosalie and Dallas walked in, making the Old Mrs. Jones hissed.

“We are already waiting for the bad new,” Uncle Mason said.

“She even had the gut to bring Dallas,” Aunty Xenia said. “Do you think granny will accept his apologies?”

They mocked Rosalie and Dallas for a while. Even Mr. Trey Jones, a doctor, who came late, insult Rosalie and Dallas.

The old Mrs. Jones abate the noise, and said, “you don’t even allow them to talk. Let them tell us the news they brought.”

Rosalie gave grandma the contract letter of billions of dollars. She smiled as Grandma raised her eyebrows and wore her eyeglasses to know if she wasn’t reading a wrong document.

“A contract worth billions of dollars? From Venus company?” Grandma asked.

“Yes, grandma,” Rosalie said, blushing.

“Wow!!!! Goodness!!!” Grandma stood up.

“It can be fake a document,” Uncle Mason said.

“Since she didn’t want you to deal with Dallas,” Aunty Xenia added.

At this moment, Dallas said, “you can just check it on Venus company’s website.”

“How dare you utter a word here? You mere poor man,” Doctor Trey said, taking out his phone to goggle Venus company’s website.

Michael jumped up as he was staring at his phone. “It’s true, my daughter made it happened!!!!!”
