Volume 1. Chapter 5 Curiosity

They saw Cindy and Una who were talking to each other. Curious about the conversation between the two of them, Rii, Vail, and Cini landed in a horse-drawn carriage.

And listened to Cini and Una's talks.

"Why are you even discussing that?" Cindy was so surprised by Una's sudden question.

“I'm just curious, come on. You just need to tell them, after all, they aren't here.” Una is very curious about Cindy's type of man.

Cindy was hesitant to telling, because her was also confused about the man she wanted.

"The type I want, he is responsible of course, and doesn't neglect," Cindy tells Una about the type of men she likes.

"What about them?" Una was curious about Cindy's views on Rii, Cini, and Vail.

"I think Rii and Cini fall into the type I said," Cindy said so hesitantly but convincingly.

“Oh…why isn't Vail included?” Una was so curious.

"For me, he is the type of man who is difficult and difficult to approach and talk to." Cindy didn't realize that Vail was around her.

“Then who will you choose?”

“I'm confused about choosing, though. Since Elia already likes Cini, maybe I will choose Rii.”

Rii was surprised to hear Cindy's blunt words.

“Congratulations, both of you, on getting the woman of this world. I was worried about your future."

“Why you so upset, Vail?” Cini felt that Vail was annoyed.

"Vail, Cini we should disguise ourselves and approach them more closely."

Agreeing to Rii's suggestion, they again flew far ahead leaving the group.

“Why stopping here, Mr. Grit?” Una was curious because this didn't mean the appointed time to rest.

“Horses pulling loads start to get tired before their legs get injured. It's good to rest early.” Grit told Una and Cindy a reason.

“Then we will—”

Una's words stopped. They were shocked to see three small children who came out from behind the bushes to become bandits.

“N-news!”

"Give me your valuables," said one of the children who was holding a stone and ready to throw it at the group.

"Why is there a child in this dangerous forest?" Grit was surprised to see three small children in the forest.

“Hand over—”

"Hey, never mind, you're still small, don't be a thief." Una scolds them.

“If we can't get the loot, we won't eat today.”

“It's none of our business, leave before you get into danger,” Una suggested to the three small children.

"Don't fight," Grit came to Una and asked them not to fight.

"Mr. Grit, they could be bait to catch us off guard."

"I understand your concern, Miss Una, but I can't let a child my daughter's age have problems."

"Moreover, if they really—"

“We are not in league with the bandits! We did it because we had to and under urgent circumstances.” One of the three children interrupted Grit's words.

Grit looked at them for a few minutes, he was able to read the character of the person who was lying. He did not see that the three children were lying and invited the three children to eat.

"Eat these apples," Grit gave three apples to give to the three small children who were taken from the supply carriage.

"Thank you, Uncle." The three of them took one each from Grit's hands.

Towards evening, when the three children wanted to leave, they were stopped by Grit and asked them to stay with the adults for they safety.

Grit felt sorry and wouldn't be able to calm down if he let the three children go at night.

Towards morning, they asked Grit to come and join them when they arrived at South Village. Since their goals were the same, Grit agreed. Grit felt it was much better and continued on his way.

"Where do you guy live?" Cindy wants to know where the three children live.

"We made a house on a tree and lived there."

“…We do this to avoid wild animals, which are active at night.”

"Why do you live in a tree?" Cindy is curious that the three children chose to isolate themselves from the city.

"We escaped from the village that was attacked by the demon king's army,"

“….” Cindy was so guilty that she asked why.

When afternoon arrived, they decided to go back to rest.

"Help!"

On the way, they heard people screaming for help from the direction they were going.

"Help! Help!"

They saw an old man running away so weak and so afraid.

"What happened?" Una approached the man and handed him a bag of water.

“Our village was attacked by a pack of monsters.” The man's voice was panting, due to running without stopping for too long.

“Could it be Souh village?” Grit guessed where the man had come from.

"That's right sir..."

“This would be very dangerous…”

“…You two, can you head to the village immediately? This group and I will be there after two hours when you leave us."

“Sure, Mr. Grit.”

Una and Cindy ran towards Souh village, following the merchant's instructions. Grit asked the three children to get into the freight train and hide.

Rii, Cini, and Vail followed Grit's words. But Grit didn't know that the three of them immediately went after Una and Cindy after they hid.

It took fifteen minutes for the two of them to arrive at the village.

"Hmm?" A mysterious figure senses that someone is killing the animal he created.

Seeing more clearly from behind the forest, the figure saw two adventurous women who were killing their wild animals.

"Why are those two women here?" So curious and amazed.

“Very funny, they both thought. My experimental animals are so weak.”

“Try as hard as you can…humans.” The figure walked back into the forest.

On the other hand, Rii, Cini, and Vail felt the presence of a presence they had never met. Vail asked Rii and Cini to find out who the owner of this existence was, while he would look after Cindy and Una.

“This monster is so troublesome.” Una was almost at her limit.

“Without the three of them, defeating this monster would be very difficult.” Cindy tried hard to swing her sword.

Vail kept looking at the two of them and didn't want to move yet. But because these monsters are so strong and endless. Making them both reach their limits, to kill the monster.

"Una..." Cindy protected Una, who was now unable to stand.

“I've run out of Stamina and Mana.” Una's words were like someone running a five-kilometer race.

"We'd better retreat, and tell Mr. Grit to—"

The herd of wild beasts was hit by a large attack from the right from Cindy's perspective. Vail also saw four foreigners attacking the monster non-stop.

“You guys are ready, leave the rest to us.”

"Who are--"

"Save that question for later, it's best to take your friend to a safe place." The foreign man asked Cindy to take Una away from the field.

Vail could only watch without doing anything.

“Vail…”

“We found the owner of that existence.”

"You two catch this figure, to get information about their strength."

…………

“What did he say?”

“Vail asked us to capture him alive to get information from his,” Rii tells Cini at Vail's request.

Cini and Rii created a barrier and embedded anti-magic on the barrier.

"This…?" The mysterious figure couldn't use its power.

"What wrong?"

“Can't you use your magic?”

He heard two unknown voices.

“Who are you guys? Come out!”

"If you are great, show your true identity."

The figure continued to look in all directions without stopping.

"Courage? Are you an object that can reflect objects?”

The figure didn't understand what Cini was saying, which was mocking him.

"Insolent— " his words stopped, he felt Rii behind him.

"How could you possibly be!?"

"There's no need to know..." Cini appeared behind the figure when the mysterious figure faced Rii.

The figure became happy and laughed.

"Is there something funny?" Cini saw the figure laughing after seeing himself and Rii.

“Sorry, not at all. I'm making an offer to both of you.”

“Offer?” Rii was curious about the offer that would be given.

“If you two join us, you two will gain half the power of this world in the future.” The figure informed Rii and Cini of the offer.

"I haven't introduced myself yet but I'm already curious..." Cini followed the flow of the atmosphere.

“Sorry about that, I am one of the ancestors' subordinates. and one of the remaining demon kings in this world Neii.” Neii introduced he self so elegantly.

"Devil's King!" Cini was so surprised to hear that.

Seeing Cini who was surprised, the demon king was very happy.

“Hahaha…I can feel that fear from you.” Neii said so confidently.

"Hah? What are you saying…"

“I'm just surprised that I ran into a demon king so soon.”

“Ah…that's right.”

“Demon king you say?!” Cini pretended to be scared.

"Your acting is so bad, Cini, it's no wonder you didn't make the cut when you took part in the search for new people to become artists," Rii said the truth.

Hearing Rii and Cini's words, Neii became very annoyed because he was being played indirectly.

Not long after that, Vail communicated with the two of them through an exchange of thoughts. Asking Cini and Rii to immediately return and arrest the owner of this presence.

On the other hand, the hero and the people with him managed to kill all the monsters that attacked Souh village.

“Are you okay?” Asked one of the people who helped Cindy and Una.

“Thank you for helping us, Mr…?” Cindy didn't know who to call him.

"Sorry for being late in telling..."

"My name is Mansa, the three of them are my new friends."

“The man who is like a swordsman is Erick. He is a knight from the Vnus kingdom.” Mansa introduced Erick to Cindy and Una.

“These two women are Nita and Sara. They are both S-rank adventurers from the Benosh kingdom.” Mansa appointed Nita and Sara to be introduced to Cindy and Una.

"Nice to meet you...then give this to your friend." Nita approached Cindy and handed her a small bottle containing a recovery potion.

Mansa looked at Erick who seemed to be trying to remember, when Erick looked at Una so intently.

"What's wrong Erick?"

"I just briefly remembered the woman who was once a team on the front line with her," Erick told Mansa what he thought, when saw Una.

"Miss... what's your name?" Erick asked the other woman to find out the name of the woman he thought was Nia.

"My name is Cindy, and she is Una," Cindy told Erick that Una didn't seem to want to find out about her past.
