The soft rap on the door made one of the househelp go and open the door. Fedora was standing there and she had an expressionless look on her face.

“Young madam” the house help bow respectfully.

“Who is there, Rosa?” Mrs Furgesson asked as she walked near the door and saw her daughter standing, “Fedora?Why are you here?” She asked further.

“This is my father’s house and I can come and go as I please” she retorted that was when her father’s voice sounded in her ears,

“Who told you that you have that right fedora?the day you agreed to follow that stupid boy you call your brother is the day I erased your name from the Furgesson family” he said, his voice coming into view, he still looked angry and it was evident on his face.

“Come on Gregory” his wife cajoled, “you can’t say that to your own daughter, she still has your blood running through her veins and she is just a child who was used by that Nick, don’t kick her out”

“Did she think of that when she went ahead with him?” Alvanon asked, he hated the sight of his sister at that particular moment.

“Why are all of you ganging up against me?” Fedora blurted, “you all have always treated me like I didn’t matter anyway?I was left out of anything that happens in the family and I was just living to enjoy the money. When was the last time one of you asked me what was actually wrong with me?None of you care about that and now you all want me to be on your side?It doesn't matter to me what any of you think, I can do what I want. I can choose to team with the enemy and there is nothing any of you can do about it” she added angrily before entering the house, she hated that she had a rotten family.

“Excuse me young lady” her father’s voice halted her,

“At this point I actually don’t care how you feel but if you want to live in my house, you will have to follow my orders from now and that includes staying away from Nick” the veins on his neck were visible and everyone knew he was trying hard to calm his nerves.

Scoffing, Fedora turned towards her family again, “you have never cared about me father, I don’t care” she spat and made for the stairs in a half run. This was actually the first time she was standing up to her family and it felt good, she wouldn’t have been able to do it if she didn’t get the courage from her brother’s wife.

“I have always known that girl will have a hand in the fall of the Furgesson empire” he fumed as they all watched her go up the stairs.

“We don’t have time for that now father”Alvanon chipped in, “what should we do about the footage, I know Nick already knows Chris and I have a hand in what happened at that orphanage”

“He is interested in the box you took from there and not the footage”

“Then we have to keep that very safe father,” Alvanon added.

“If he broke into the police station to take then we should all expect that he will come here, Nick knows this Place like the back of his hands.

They were still involved in their talk when the 10 o'clock news came on and the first news they saw, shocked them to the bane of their existence.

“Breaking news: Nick Furgesson declares asset and purchases the Dogbam holdings' ' came the news casters voice and all of them were shocked.

When did Nick buy the company? That company was one of the major shareholders of the Furgessons and now Nick has purchased it?for how much in particular?

“What nonsense?Get Mr Jules on the phone for me” Gregory ordered and Alvanon rushed to do the work.

“Here father, he is on the line”

Gregory collected the phone and slowly placed it on his ear like the dominating man of the business world that he was.

“Mr Jules”he called slowly, “what is this nonsense I am hearing?”

The man from the other end chuckled lightly before clearing his throat, “it happened so fast and I didn’t have the chance to actually tell you but the deal has already been made and he paid thrice the amount for Dogbam holdings” Mr jules voice was filled with pride and Gregory could feel it which was making his blood boil.

“How dare you Jules?That company is a major shareholder for Furgessons and you went ahead to sell it to Nick?Are you planning on making my company bankrupt by selling it to my enemy?” He flared

“I am sorry but I am a businessman sir and I believe in profit. Moreover, Nick is also a Furgesson and it still benefits you in the end”

“Get ready to pay any compensation Jules” he bellowed and disconnected the call, his chest rose and fell in anger.

“Why did he sell it?” Alvanon asked his father.

“I am sure Nick must have deceived him into selling it” his mum replied.

The whole family was thrown into turmoil but this was just the beginning of their doom.

As soon as Fedora entered her room, she quickly called her brother who picked after two rings.

“Why didn’t you tell me you were leaving?” He asked like a dotting elder brother.

“Don’t worry brother, I am okay. I just want to help in any way I can” she answered and the person from the other end sighed.

“How do you think you can help, Fedora?”

“I can get information for you” she answered and her door flung open before she saw Nessa’s face come into view and she had a grim and uncomfortable look on her face.

“Don’t you knock before entering a room?” Fedora asked removing the phone from her ear but she didn’t cut the call.

“Do you think that you are special because Nick favors you fed?”Nessa asked in mock laughter, “you are just a pawn on his chessboard and he will do away with you the moment he no longer needs you”

“Why are you suddenly looking out for me Nessa?you always treated me like I never existed anyways”

“I love you fed, you are my sister and we share that relationship, don’t let Nick ruin what father have struggled over the years to build, even you will end up being affected”

Fedora rolled her eyes before slumping on her bed, “I am not helping him destroy the family Nessa, I am just happy to have him back and if you all did something wrong to him then you can bear the consequences but don’t involve me in your mess” she added, “please leave I am busy”

“Don’t be foolish Fed” Nessa warned before she walked out of the room and Fedora sighed, she was glad her sister did not hear what she said.

“Nick” she called, this time more softly as she placed the phone on her ear again.

“I want you to get back here tomorrow morning Fedora, Gregory won’t spare you simply because you are his blood, I don’t want to involve you in all this so please”

“But Nick” she tried to bargain but he interrupted.

“If you don’t think of me as your adopted brother then you will do as I say”

She sighed, this was her weak point. She didn’t ever want him to think he was just an adopted brother to her.

“Okay fine” she replied after a while and disconnected the call before crashing back on the bed.

Immediately the call disconnected, Nick threw it on the bed as he secured his gloves on his hand.

“You really dote on your sister, don’t you?” April asked as she adjusted the cloth on his body. He was dressed in a pair of black pants and a black shirt with a pair of gloves.

“She saved my life five years back and I promised to protect for the rest of my life,” he replied, tousling his hair.

April smirked before she picked something and gave it to him,

“This is a microchip, once you are near the old box it will give you a beep”

Nick smiled, just how much did she know?

“You are very skilled,” he praised.

“My dad always said, what is worth doing is worth doing well, you have to be very careful. He may be expecting you” she added.

“The news of me buying Dogbam holdings will keep him busy for a while, before he realizes I will be gone,” Nick replied as a smile appeared on his lips.

“How much did you end up buying it, by he way?”

“Seven trillion dollars” Nick answered, his voice filled with pride.

“That is much more than it actually costs”

“I have a lot of cash to throw around my dear wife” he answered sarcastically and she smiled

“I still don’t understand why you have to disguise yourself to take it though?” April asked as she sat on the bed opposite him slowly.

Nick smirked, “the fact that I can attack him in broad daylight and in the dark makes it even more terrifying April, never let your enemies even have the slightest of what you are doing. He will surely know I did it and I am not hiding that fact, it is just fun playing hide and seek”

She smiled,” alright then, I will be your eyes and ears, you don’t have to be worried”

“Good” he answered and picked up his pistol, “for safety” he added before smiling and walking out of the room. April didn’t stand up from where she was sitting until she heard the sound of his bike leave the house before she grabbed her laptop
