Chapter 21. Victory's Rewards and Plans
Eryndor sat, reviewing the battle's outcome. He hadn't personally participated in the battle due to the small number of enemies, but it seems the next time the humans and elves attack, he won't be so lucky."System, kindly give me a detailed report," he commanded."Ding!Battle summary. Enemy casualties numbers to 500 humans, 300 elves.Goblin casualties numbers to 200. Host has earned 975,000 chaos point.Congratulations, Host! Your forces have achieved a decisive victory."Eryndor smiled, but it seems the system wasn't done yet."Ding!Sixty goblins have leveled up to hobgoblins. Generals Vexar, Gorthok, and Kogar have leveled up to Goblin Dukes"Eryndor's grin widened."Excellent! Now, let's invest our points."Eryndor knew that to survive against the next battle, they will need to change the way they do things. He sent a telepathic message to the system, "Purchase blueprints and plans for modern village development.""Ding!Blueprint purchased for 10 points."Eryndor called for Gr
Chapter 22. Irrational Quest
Eryndor, Adam Hill, walked into the adventurers' guild building. His new human form blended in perfectly. The kingdom was on high alert against elves with unknown origin. No one suspected a thing.Adam approached the registration table."Excuse me," he said with a smile. "I'd like to register as an adventurer."The clerk raised an eyebrow. "You're a bit old for this, aren't you?" he scoffed. "Adventuring is for the young."Adam chuckled. He knew well he was around thirty-five years when he was still on Earth. But it's perfect for infiltration as everyone knew that the dark elf Eryndor had the looks of an early twenties young elf.. not a mid-thirties human male."Age is just a number." Adam said. The clerk shrugged. "Suit yourself. Fill out the form."Adam took the parchment and began filling the registration."Name: Adam Hill. Class, Magic-Sword User."The clerk handed Adam a badge. "Rank F. You're starting from the bottom."Adam took the badge, unfazed, he pinned it to his cloak. Nex
Chapter 23. A Life never had
The wind whipped through the campground, sending leaves swirling. Adam Hill's jaw tightened as he gazed out at the familiar faces and landscape. "Time to go," he said, his voice low and firm.He turned and stepped into the waiting helicopter. Behind him, his team stood at attention, their eyes shining with emotion."Farewell, Captain!" shouted the Assault Team leader."Farewell, Captain!" echoed the Special Forces commander."Safe journey, Captain!" added the Logistics chief.Adam's gaze swept across their resolute faces. "Remember, our mission isn't over. Keep fighting for what's right."A gust of wind buffeted the team, but they stood firm, their salute unwavering."We won't let you down, Captain!" a voice called out."Protect our people!" another shouted.Adam's eyes locked onto his team, his expression grim. "I'm counting on you."As he turned to board the helicopter, a lone figure stepped forward – Sergeant Alex, his trusted friend and second-in-command."Sir, we'll hold the line
Chapter 24. A family never had
Outside the airport, a wall of imposing bodyguards emerged, their authoritative presence commanding attention. Eight men, each towering and broad-shouldered, formed a protective circle around two figures. Ethan's eyebrows arched, intrigued."Mr. Adam," one bodyguard announced, his deep voice echoing through the air.The guards parted, revealing Roosevelt Francis, a dignified older man with snow-white hair and a well-groomed beard, and a middle-aged man beside him. Both wore tailored attire that exuded wealth and sophistication.Roosevelt's piercing gaze locked onto Adam as he approached. His eyes sparkled with a hint of reverence."Ah, Mr. Adam," Roosevelt said, his voice low and gravelly. "I am Roosevelt Francis, chief butler to the esteemed Hamilton family."Adam's expression remained impassive, but his eyes narrowed slightly.Roosevelt surprised Adam by bowing deeply. "It's an honor to finally meet you, sir. I've been sent to escort you to Imperium City."Adam gaze snapped into sha
Chapter 25. Problems never had
Adam knocked loudly on the door."Who's there?" Chalice called out, her voice cheerful. She opened the door with a big smile, happy about her daughter's engagement to a rich man.But her smile quickly turned to shock."You're alive?" Chalice's face went pale.Disgust filled her eyes. "You're back?" she said, her voice dripping with hatred.Chalice recognized Adam despite his changed appearance. She had thought about him angrily many times."I'm back," Adam said calmly, meeting her gaze."How dare you come back?" Chalice shouted, her face red with anger. "Don't stand so close to me! It's Mrs. Kent to you. Didn't your mother teach you manners?"Chalice's voice was loud, and her spit flew near Adam's face.Adam's anger flared, his heart aching at the mention of his mother. He clenched his fists, reminding himself to stay calm. This woman was Evelyn's mother."Want to hit me?" Chalice sneered. "You're a curse. Why come back now? You'll ruin everything!"Just then, Evelyn's father emerged
Chapter 26. Additional Forces
Adam's eyes fluttered open. He winced, as he remembered living the life of another, it all felt so real, as if he was back on Earth, living the life he wanted. Getting revenge for his mother and reuniting with his wife. But all these are things he will never have. The colossal alpha wolf, Lucius Von Blake, towered over him. Adam struggled to sit up.Lucius stepped back, giving Adam space."You're awake," Lucius growled.Adam rubbed his temples. "What did you do to me?" he asked.Lucius's deep purple eyes gleamed."I used my ability to induce unconsciousness. I brought forth your innermost desire. I see now that to conquer this world not your greatest desire. If it had been, I would have let you continue to live in that illusive world I created from fragments of your memory till your body here perishes. But I had to pull you out of it."Adam's gaze narrowed. "Why?"Lucius's expression softened. "I sensed you're not from Solaris. That was why I chose to use my domain on you, rather than
Chapter 27. The King's Summon
Morning dawned, and Adam rose. He brushed his teeth, bathed, and dressed.Downstairs, the guild bustled with activity. Two soldiers, clad in royal armor, spoke with the receptionist. She caught Adam's eye and waved him over. Adam approached, curiosity growing. The receptionist had never spoken to him out of the goodness of her heart. So why exactly was she calling him."Adam Hill," the receptionist said. "The King has sent for you."Adam's heart skipped a beat. He turned to one of the soldiers. "Have I committed an offense?" Adam asked. The soldier's expression remained neutral. "I don't know, sir," he replied.Adam weighed his options. But the King's summons couldn't be ignored. If things turned bad for him, he could always escape."To think my infiltration plan ended before it even began." Adam thought to himself."I'm ready," Adam said. The soldiers nodded."Follow us," one of them said.Adam followed the soldiers out of the guild building. He could see the curious gaze that other
Chapter 28. In the army
General Adolph approached Adam. "Follow me, Adam Hill," he said.Adam trailed the General out of the throne room.Through the castle's corridors, they walked.Their destination. the barracks, nearby."New recruits train here," General Adolph explained. As they walked, Adam noticed the General's stern face.Had softened, ever so slightly. They entered the barracks.Noise filled the air. Soldiers moved swiftly.General Adolph led Adam to a small office."Recruitment Officer," a sign read.A bespectacled officer looked up. "General Adolph, sir!""Adam Hill, our new recruit," General Adolph said. The officer nodded. "Welcome, Adam."He grabbed a quill and parchment."Name?""Adam Hill," Adam replied."Age?""Thirty-five.""Occupation?""Adventurer."The officer scribbled swiftly. "Rank?"General Adolph intervened. "Adam will start as a cadet, like everyone else."The officer nodded. "Uniform size?"Adam provided his measurements. The officer handed Adam a bundle. "Your uniform, Lieutenant
Chapter 29. Valuable Asset
Adam returned to the camp, his mind reeling with the rapid turn of events. Just yesterday, he was a lone adventurer, and now he was a cadet in the royal army on the verge of becoming a captain in the royal army. The thought sent a thrill through him.As he walked, Adam's thoughts turned to the kingdom's internal affairs, soon to be within his grasp. He envisioned the downfall of Kryptoria's kingdom, a long-held ambition. Next, he would turn his attention to the Elven race, their arrogance and superiority complex infuriating him. They had treated him like trash and even sought to end his life the moment he was reincarnated into this elven body. Only he gods know what the past Eryndor had suffered in their hands. But soon, all of that will change. In his past life, he was just a military officer, but even his rank and amiability didn't save him from being betrayed and eliminated by the very same people he trusted.. but now.. in this new body.. with this new power..A calculated smile sp
Chapter 30. Better than expected
The throne room buzzed with tension as nobles, military leaders, and clergy gathered for the emergency meeting.Knight Commander Adara frowned. "We can't change our strategy based on the whims of a lone adventurer."General Adolph countered, "Adam Hill's insights are valuable. We can't ignore the threat Eryndor poses."Duke Ravenswood sneered, "A lowly adventurer? What does he know of war and strategy?"Lord Harrington turned to Duke Ravenswood, "What do you know about war and strategy? Where was your war and strategy during the first battle against Eryndor, no don't tell me, but I would like to know where your war and strategy was when the thunderwolf pack ravaged through a village and killed of almost all it's residents. That lowly adventurer faced off against the vicious pack alone, and won. So until you do the same, I suggest you sit down and don't even speak another word."The entire throne room was silent. No one had expected such an outburst from the rigid and uncaring Harringt
