Chapter 1.
Davien Ghys walked out of the grocery store, pulling two heavy grocery bags in both hands. He was also visibly drenched in his sweat as he walked towards the nearest road to get a cab.Davien was the son-in-law of the renowned Benjamin family, an influential family in the city. An affluent family that treats its son-in-law worse than a maid.Suddenly, a black sleek car pulled over right in front of him, forcing him to a halt."What the hell?" He let out a confused gasp. The door of the car opened and a pretty lady whose porcelain skin glowed in the day walked towards him. Her shape was like an hourglass, and her red gown seemed like an extension of her skin because they fit perfectly. For a moment, Davien was in a daze of her beauty, but quickly snapped out of it."Finally, I meet you, Master Davien." The lady bowed very respectfully to Davien."Master Davien?" Davien muttered, unsure of what to make of this."My name is Flora Hulbert. I'm the butler of the Machkerson family." She exp

The sudden news sent the entire villa into an abrupt silence."What did you just say?" Khloe was the first person to rush forward. "I was sent by the doctor to bring you." The woman was scared to go on. "I- I- his health is declining fast.""Grandpa's health is declining?" Khloe exclaimed, a horrific expression pacing her face.As soon as she looked away to the side like someone who wanted to cry, she quickly stole a sly smile. The decline in the health of her grandfather would mean acquiring her share of the inheritance as soon as possible. She couldn't wait.Anna on the other hand was feeling really troubled. She was shocked and heartbroken. This wasn't because she cared, but because if anything were to happen to her Grandpa now that the company was growing bigger, she might lose everything she's being toilingfor all the years. Chapter Three
Davien was taken by shock following what Sir Benjamin had just said."Become the head of Benj Groups?" Davien repeated the words of the old man, staring keenly at the man to validate his confusion.Seeing that the expression of Sir Benjamin was resolute and determined, Davien was convinced that the man truly meant what he had just said."I appreciate your kind intentions, Sir. But I refuse the offer." Davien made sure to be respectful. "Why?" Sir Benjamin asked with interest."All that matters to me right now is your wellbeing. I'm not a man that pines for status or power. The biggest gift you can give to me is you being hale and hearty." He explained in details.Although Davien's words were honorable and thoughtful, Sir Benjamin was very convinced that hisdecision and offer were not misplaced. Davien was definitely the right person.Long time ago when he had saved Davien from the accident, he hadn't only done it because of a good heart. There was something peculiar about this young

Davien walked into the villa, when Anna walked into the foyer at the same time. She walked straight to the center table and slapped a document on the table."Sign it." She demanded, hardly paying attention to him."What is this?" He asked, taking a glance first at the document before looking back at her in demand for an answer.Instead of answering him, she walked towards one of the couches and settled in, as though standing there with him was a bother."Don't bother me with questions." She replied coldly. "Pick it up to find out."Seeing the way she was reacting, he realised that he wouldn't get much out of her unless he checked the document. He picked up the document and brought out the files. His eyes quickly scurried through the heading that boldly stated,DIVORCE AGREEMENT BETWEEN ANNA BENJAMIN AND DAVIEN GHYS"What is--?" Davien couldn't believe his eyes as he struggled to understand what has been presented to him."Do not waste my time. Pick up the pen and do what's needful." S

"What are you talking about?" Davien stood in her face, stunned by the accusation. "Oh wow! You stole from me and now you are acting up?" She yelled at him. "I suggest you go and search for your necklace elsewhere. You clearly don't know what you are talking about." Davien dismissed confidently. "You fucking faggot!!!" Khloe felt insulted by his guts. "How dare you talk to me like that!!!" She proceeded to slap him again. Davien refused to be hit for something he didn't do, hence he stopped her arm mid-air, which further shot a black rage up her neck and towards her face. "Do you dare to lay your hand on a woman?" A masculine voice said out of nowhere. Hearing the voice of a man, Davien's gaze instinctively shifted from Khloe's to a young man.The man was about the age of Davien. Only that, he was dressed in Thompson suits, expensive Rolex and a high-end pair of shoes. From the outlook, he dripped with luxury.Beyond the luxury, the look on the man's face oozed disgust towards D

"I have no idea why Anna is still kind to a nuisance like you!!!" Khloe yelled at Davien. Davien struggled to pick some of his clothes that had fallen out of the tattered bag when he was thrown into the street. He decided not to think much of the constant offensive comments of Khloe and Vincent. "If you dare to come any close to this gate again, I'll make sure to turn your legs inside out!!" Vincent's roar came haunting him. After the two had had enough of yelling at him, they left him in the cold, dressed in a cleaning clothes, struggling to get back on his feet. He reached to pick up the last piece of his clothes that had fallen from the bag. It was a pant. Something dropped from the pant as he was about to shove it inside the bag. "Oh." He muttered, taking a break from the gloomy thoughts. In his hand was the black card that he had collected from the strange lady whom he met on his way home from the grocery store. He slid it inside his pocket then walked away. He tried so mu

Davien was stunned speechless by the amount displaced on the screen. Ten billion dollars. All his own money? What the hell!Could it be true all along, that the strange lady wasn't lying to him? Was it true that he was truly an important person? "He seems to be well off after all." He heard someone say behind him. "I hate to admit it, but this young is surely not homeless."Davien could see that all those who were jeering at him earlier, were now on his side. That's humans. Quickly switching sides as long as money was involved. He didn't care about them. He quickly plucked the card out of the machine before anyone would take a peak at the balance of the card. He turned and started picking up all the remnants of the twenty thousand dollars. When he was done picking, his haunting eyes scurried through the crowd until he saw the security man who was trying to leave. "Where do you think you are going?" He called at the man. Realizing that he has been caught by Davien, the formerly h

The atmosphere of the room was suddenly plunged into gloom at the despicable sight of Davien that stood in the center of the living room. "What the hell!" Khloe exclaimed, jumping on her feet. In fact, every member of the family was on their feet except Anna, who was turned in the stomach just at the sight of him. "Have you lost your mind?" That was Khloe again. "No, that wasn't a question. Seeing that you dared to come back here, you must surely have lost your mind!!!"All eyes were fixed on him as they waited for him to say something. "Ignore me. I'm here to pick something that belongs to me." Davien said boldy, making a move forward. His guts seemed to pissed them all off. "Where do you think you are going to?" Vincent suddenly stepped into his way. As the man of the house, he should be territorial, right. "Your ear must be bleeding when I said I came here to pick something." Davien glared at him. "Now, move out of the way."Khloe quickly rushed forward. "Oh, now I get it!"

Battered and tattered in the hands of the rough cops, Davien was dragged to the police station, his face swollen and his eyes marked with black circles."Make sure he doesn't see the light of the day ever again!!" Vincent roared through the police station. Khloe also followed. She had been asked to stay back, but she refused. She wanted to make sure that Davien was eternally damned to suffer. "You dare to hit me? You'll never be able to raise those miserable hands of yours again!" Khloe screamed as the gate shut in Davien's face. The Sheriff, Vincent and Khloe stood directly in front of the prison bars, staring at Davien who was engulfed by the darkness of the prison. "I want him to rot in there, Sheriff." Vincent urged. "Look at what he did to my sister-in-law! He deserves to die! You owe me this own." The Sheriff nodded firmly as he stared at Vincent. Shifting his gaze to look at Davien, a shade of rage shot in. "I assure you, Mr Vincent. When I'm done with him, you'd beg me t
