Davien walked into the villa, when Anna walked into the foyer at the same time.
She walked straight to the center table and slapped a document on the table. "Sign it." She demanded, hardly paying attention to him. "What is this?" He asked, taking a glance first at the document before looking back at her in demand for an answer. Instead of answering him, she walked towards one of the couches and settled in, as though standing there with him was a bother. "Don't bother me with questions." She replied coldly. "Pick it up to find out." Seeing the way she was reacting, he realised that he wouldn't get much out of her unless he checked the document. He picked up the document and brought out the files. His eyes quickly scurried through the heading that boldly stated, DIVORCE AGREEMENT BETWEEN ANNA BENJAMIN AND DAVIEN GHYS "What is--?" Davien couldn't believe his eyes as he struggled to understand what has been presented to him. "Do not waste my time. Pick up the pen and do what's needful." She added, clearly stating that he was already becoming a nuisance. Now that Sir Benjamin was in a critical condition and was set to announce his will, she didn't see any more reason to remain married to Davien and fulfil the old man's wish. After all, she was certain that she'll be named heir to the Benjamin's assets. "Is this really what you want?" Davien asked, seeing how resolute she looked about the decision. She looked like she has already finalized the thoughts and if it wasn't formality, she wouldn't even be here seeking his signature. "Don't nag me, Davien. You can see clearly that we are world's apart. Our worlds can never meet." She answered. "If you have any dignity left, sign these papers and let this be over with." Davien couldn't believe that all the years that he had spent in this family trying to be a good husband, doing the chores obediently, and trying to please her, was nothing but being a nuisance to her. It hurt him really deeply. "Anna..." He wanted to make a comment but realised that it wasn't worth it. He wasn't willing to change her mind after all. He nodded slowly and placed the document back on the table. He signed it. "Don't worry, I won't kick you out and have you homeless." She stood up. "You can pack your bags and move to the servants' quarters." She added. She picked up the document, standing directly in front of him as he stared despicably at him, “From now on, there’s nothing between us. You’re just a servant in this house. Your job is to clean every corner of this villa, and I’ll pay you $1,000 a month—nothing more.” She walked out immediately after those words. .... The next day, Davien had just finished trimming the garden and was returning to the servant quarters when someone suddenly walked into his path. "That's what I love to see." Khloe giggled as she looked at him from his head to toe. He held the cutter in one hand, a shovel in the other, his clothes covered in greens and dirt. Obviously this sight seemed to please her. "Just keep acting like the good dog you are, and then there will be no problem." She added. "If you dare to act up, I'll starve you until only skeletons are left of you." Davien didn't bother to say a word to her. Hearing her speak was already too much of a nuisance than to keep standing there. He made to walk past her. She suddenly walked into his path to block his way. "What again?" His voice was hard as he glared at her. Khloe sneered as she smashed the vase against the wall. “Oops—slipped. Well? Clean it up!” Davien let out a cold laugh. Typical Khloe—always playing her childish games. With a sigh, he stood and stepped forward. “Stop.” Khloe’s voice cut through the air again, still unsatisfied. “I’ve changed my mind. The outer wall of my bedroom hasn’t been cleaned in three days. Go scrub off that disgusting rust. I want it spotless.” She leaned in, her smile sharpening like a knife. “If I see even a speck of dust… I’ll push you off myself.” In that moment, Davien felt a chill crawl up his spine—Khloe’s eyes were gleaming with the twisted delight of a living Annabelle. Suddenly, her phone started ringing. "Hello, mom." She answered, putting the call on speaker. "Go and pick Vincent Maers up. He's on his way." Lydia Benjamin, her mother said. "My brother-in-law is on his way?" Khloe sounded so excited and left immediately. "Brother-in-law?" Davien muttered, wondering that it's been hardly a day since Anna divorced him. Under the blazing sun, Davien clung to the outside of Khloe’s window, unprotected, watching Anna throw herself into another man’s arms with joy. A dull ache settled in his chest. So it was Vincent—he was the one she truly loved. What about himself? He was nothing more than a tool—Anna’s pawn in the fight for the inheritance. Davien’s heart shattered, piece by piece. Suddenly, bang! Khloe stormed in and towards Davien. "How dare you steal from me?" She slapped Davien really hard. "Where is my necklace?!"Latest Chapter

"Davien?!!!" They all exclaimed at once. None of them could come to process, or understand, let alone give meaning to what was happening right in that moment. "What the fuck is he doing here?" Vincent's entire body was working up as he stepped forward. "Vincent." Anna called his attention to stop him before he would lunge at Davien."How are you so bold to come here right now?" Dorathy screamed, ready to pounce on Davien, too. It seemed like only Anna was not interested in going at Davien's throat. The rest would have tackled him down right now if they had the chance. "I could kill you right here and right now, and nothing whatsoever will happen after that!" Vincent swore. "Not even the cops will be able to find your corpse when I'm done dissolving it with acid."Davien didn't utter any word as the family members kept yelling and threatening him. "Why are you here?" Anna spoke up eventually, staring dead at him. "Why are we asking him questions?" Vincent was at it again. "I wan

"Miss Khloe Benjamin, please rise." The judge called. Khloe Benjamin knew that this was the end of the road for her. There was no going back. There was nothing she could do to avoid this fate. "Not only did you falsely accuse an innocent man of sexual assault, but you colluded with another person to falsify the evidence that was presented to this court of law. That is perjury.""My lord." Khloe's lawyer quickly rose up. "My client decision stemmed from what the defendant did to her sister. This a truth, my lord. The defendant maltreated the sister of my client at this same hotel.""Overruled." The judge snapped at the lawyer. "If you speak out of turn again, you will be charged for obstruction." The judge warned the lawyer. "If you have another case to charge against the defendant, you can do that separately and not mix it up with this. I thought you were supposed to be a professional." The judge added in displeasure. At this point, the lawyer gave up. She knew that there was no t

The entire court was sent into a state of silence. All heads turned in the direction of the door as a man walked in. Khloe recognized the man instantly and couldn't hold herself together. She suddenly became restless, too uncomfortable to maintain her composure. The prosecutor also knew whom the man was. Her eyes bulged and she couldn't close her mouth. She was shaking her head frantically as the man approached the scene. Perhaps if she had a superpower, she would stop him in his tracks. Anna and Dorathy didn't know whom the man was, but seeing both the reactions of Khloe and of the lawyer, they knew that something was not right. "That's the manager of the hotel." Vincent was the only one who relieved them of the anxiety. "Oh, shit!" Dorathy cursed. "What the hell is he doing here?""Apparently, Davien's lawyer brought him here." Vincent replied. The hotel manager arrived at the scene and was directed to assume a position in the box. "My lord, this man right here is the manager

"The Prosecuting attorney can proceed." The judge said. Khloe glanced at her lawyer and they both exchanged stares. Then she inadvertently looked in the direction of Davien. When their eyes met, she shot a cocky smile in his direction. "That little bitch." Davien growled just staring at her. He was sick to the stomach at the sight of her. Flora heard him curse and traced his gaze to the direction he was looking. "You shouldn't bother about her. That's the last smile she'll have." Flora was certain as she said this.Davien had never had a reason to doubt her abilities. He knew what she was capable of doing. Hence, he wasn't bothered about all these proceedings. "There is nothing much to say, my lord." The prosecutor started, taking a stance at the front. "My client has been in deep trauma following what happened at the hotel."The lawyer waved in the direction of Khloe who immediately drew a sad and hopeless expression on her face. The smile that had lingered for a while was nowhe

His gait was royal and his features were blinding. His face was cold and solemn and his demeanor was icy as icicle. His essence screamed dominance like a royalty who had willingly come to pay a visit to his lowly servants. Standing beside him was a lesser striking figure compared to him. If he was the sun, the figure was the moon. She was striking and gorgeous. Her skin was perfect and her shape perfect. Yet even with her features that looked like a goddess that missed their way to earth, there was an air about her that looked extremely serious and intimidating. "Isn't that Davien?" Dorathy found it very hard to recognize him. The Davien that she used to know was a wretch which could never command an attention, let alone leave everyone speechless at the sight of him. "It's him." Khloe didn't know when the words flew from her lips. "Why is he dressed like it's his wedding day?" Vincent was filled rage as soon as he spotted him. "And who is that lady with him?""They look so close
