Chapter 1
Chapter 1Beelze found himself trapped in a seemingly endless dream within darkness and haze. The dream was surreal and absurd, and the fleeting nature of it dissipated as a wave of pulsating sensation washed over him.Suddenly, Beelze woke up. Upon awakening, he struggled to recall anything about the dream.Something felt wrong about his surroundings post-awakening. He sensed his body curled up tightly in a confined space, the air thick with a foul, sticky odor.In the absence of light, Beelze couldn't discern his surroundings. Instinctively afraid, he opened his mouth to shout but was nearly choked by the liquid that filled the air around him.Panic-stricken, Beelze thrashed his hands blindly as if drowning, eventually encountering what seemed to be a thin, warm barrier. Desperately, he pounded his fists against it, only to realize his attacks were feeble and his body felt different than usual. After continuous effort, the barrier finally cracked with a faint light seeping through.
Chapter 2
Chapter 2The sudden, intense hunger caught Beelze off guard. A hollow feeling akin to a black hole emanated from his stomach, prompting his mouth to flood with saliva. Droplets of saliva dripped down, hitting the ground and sizzling, emitting green smoke. But Beelze paid no mind to this; his body's primal urge overwhelmed him. He turned his head to gaze at the broken, unsightly black eggshell he had just emerged from. The eggshell emitted a tantalizing aroma, as if inviting Beelze to devour it. Could he eat it? Surely, creatures often consume their eggshells after hatching, right? With nothing else around to assuage his hunger, Beelze disregarded everything else. He grabbed a piece of the eggshell, stuffed it into his mouth, and began to chew voraciously.Crunch, crunch. To his surprise, the eggshell wasn't as bad as he expected. It was crispy, almost like chewing on toasted rice. Perhaps it was the effect of the magma beach; it tasted somewhat baked, and surprisingly delicious!Eati
Chapter 3
Chapter 3 The little Devilkin were hatching one after another, each displaying diverse forms. Some resembled humans like Beelze, while others had animal-like bodies with four limbs on the ground. There were also insect-like Devilkin with multiple legs, and some even had wings from birth. Their skin colors varied widely. Most were a reddish-black hue, but there were also dark gray, cyan, and other variations with overlapping skin tones. It appeared that "Devilkin" was a general term encompassing various races among them. In contrast to Beelze, who carefully surveyed his surroundings upon hatching, these little Devilkin instinctively began devouring their eggshells immediately after emerging. The beach resounded with the sounds of rustling and clattering as most of them consumed their shells, a sight that might unsettle someone fearful of crowds. Beelze watched cautiously, feeling no kinship with these other Devilkin. However, he noted a peculiar difference: the newly hatched Devilk
Chapter 4
Chapter 4Getting the first spirit was relatively easy since there was little resistance from the opponent. Opportunities like this wouldn't come often, so Beelze wanted to take advantage and gather more spirits. He glanced around and realized there were too many boats chasing too few fish! With more eggs hatching than those remaining unhatched, there was no choice - all the Devilkin eggs were quickly taken. Beelze managed to secure one because he was close by. Just as he considered going for more, he saw a few little Devilkin fighting over an egg in the distance.Seeing this, Beelze was alarmed. The brutal way Devilkin fought for survival gave him a bad feeling. Would the stronger ones turn on the weaker ones who had already hatched and not yet acquired spirits?!Looking at his small arms and legs, Beelze felt vulnerable. "No, I need to think fast!" He quickly accessed the customization interface.Despite being born a Devilkin, Beelze still thought like a human. His first instinct wa
Chapter 5
Chapter 5They stopped fighting and quickly looked toward the strange noise. Two quick gunshots followed, scaring them with their weird sound...Beelze, who fired the shots, was surprised. The six-eyed Devilkin he shot in the stomach didn't die right away. Instead, he cried out in pain and tore a big piece of flesh from Beelze’s arm. It hurt so much Beelze aimed the gun at the Devilkin's belly and shot two more times. This time, the six-eyed Devilkin froze in place. After Beelze pushed him away, he fell next to Beelze, bleeding from three bullet holes, quickly turning the sand red.Covered in blood and breathing hard, Beelze got up and stared at the six-eyed Devilkin. Even though he was badly hurt, the Devilkin was still alive. This made Beelze angry, so he pointed his gun at the Devilkin's head and shot again! This time, the six-eyed Devilkin went silent...To save and make the gun appear, Beelze even deleted the Precision Element. At such a close range, accuracy wasn't his main concern.
Chapter 6
Chapter 6"It worked," he murmured to himself with relief. "The effect isn’t obvious, but it's effective against the poison." He sighed in relief and focused on attending to his wound.Initially, Beelze thought about conjuring something to stop the bleeding and gather bandages. However, he hesitated, feeling it would consume too many Spirits. Watching nearby Devilkin locked in battle, he wondered how they handled their injuries. He observed most of them licking their wounds until they stopped bleeding. Witnessing this beast-like behavior made Beelze feel powerless, knowing excessive blood loss posed dangers even for Devilkin. His revolver served as a strong deterrent to the nearby Devilkin, ensuring they left him in peace as he quietly tended to his wounds. Gradually, the bleeding from his severely injured left arm began to subside. On the beach, the cycle of stronger Devilkin preying on weaker ones continued relentlessly. Stronger Devilkin periodically hunted down their prey, consumi
Chapter 7
Chapter 7Thousands of tiny Devilkin streamed out from the mouth of the volcano. This sight was somewhat startling, but Beelze soon realized that those who had arrived near the base earlier weren't heading all the way down. Instead, they were investigating something on the inner walls of the volcano.Using their claws, they tapped and probed at the inner walls. As Beelze pondered their actions, one of the Devilkin shrieked in surprise and began digging frantically at the spot he had tapped. Surprisingly, the other Devilkin rushed over to assist! It was a bizarre scene. Beelze witnessed Devilkin cooperating with each other for the first time!In no time, they dug out a black hole. With cheers, the Devilkin swarmed inside! It wasn't just one hole; they made numerous openings all along the inner walls, and nearby Devilkin poured in together.Beelze finally grasped that these holes were weak points in the volcano's structure. Despite the countless caves within, each eruption filled them w
Chapter 8
Chapter 8Beelze had been working on designs over the past few days. The first draft he completed used his hands as a reference. He enlarged his entire palm, giving it a savage appearance with a bony shell and jagged bone spurs protruding like nails. He also lengthened and sharpened his nails, curving them into hooks that gleamed like metal.Beelze's initial definitions for this transformation were Steel Material and Flexible.Yes, this was Beelze's first modification plan: creating a pair of hands with steel claws for himself! This was just a preliminary idea. Beelze envisioned that with enough Spirits in the future, he could transform his nails into adamantium to achieve an indestructible and powerful force. He also planned to extend this transformation to his entire arm. This idea was inspired by Wolverine's claws. However, Beelze speculated that the quantity and quality of Spirits might not be sufficient to achieve adamantium, so his current plan was to settle for ordinary steel.
Chapter 9
Chapter 9: RebornYear - 2230.It all began in 2230...Portals of unknown origins appeared worldwide, known as "Crypt,"each connected to myths and legends. This was believed to be from the power hidden in historical stories. The danger came from powerful artifacts inside. Claiming these artifacts brought wealth and abilities, changing lives and the world. People gained mythical powers, rising in rank. It became a world where anyone could rise with the right artifact. However, by 2250, hope turned into a nightmare. The world split into those with artifacts and those without. Emperors, with the strongest artifacts, ruled with absolute power. Governments couldn't oppose them, rewriting laws to keep the powerless trapped in poverty as modern-day slaves. Beelze, stuck in the lower class, had to serve an Emperor for escape. He worked for Depay Husk, promised help in return for loyalty. Beelze did everything for Depay, even risking his life, but it was all a lie.But it had all been a lie.
Chapter 10
Chapter 10: Let The Race Begin. Beelze leaned against the cold wall of the police station, his mind racing. His memory was sharp, almost too sharp. He could remember the smallest details from years ago, like the phone number some random stranger had given him on the street. That’s why the scene playing out in front of him felt all too familiar. It was early evening, just as he recalled. The same smug student stood behind his mother, smirking. ‘That bastard started all this after having too much to drink,’ Beelze thought, clenching his jaw.The student laughed, sneering. “What’s with that stare? You’re the one who messed with me while I was studying for exams! My hand’s useless now because of you.”His mother added with fury, “The doctors say it’ll take eight weeks for him to fully recover! Are you going to take responsibility if he fails his college exams? Are you going to ruin my son’s future?”Beelze couldn’t help but scoff. ‘Eight weeks to recover from that? Yeah, right.’He mutte
