Chapter 8

Beelze had been working on designs over the past few days.

The first draft he completed used his hands as a reference. He enlarged his entire palm, giving it a savage appearance with a bony shell and jagged bone spurs protruding like nails. He also lengthened and sharpened his nails, curving them into hooks that gleamed like metal.

Beelze's initial definitions for this transformation were Steel Material and Flexible.

Yes, this was Beelze's first modification plan: creating a pair of hands with steel claws for himself!

This was just a preliminary idea. Beelze envisioned that with enough Spirits in the future, he could transform his nails into adamantium to achieve an indestructible and powerful force. He also planned to extend this transformation to his entire arm.

This idea was inspired by Wolverine's claws. However, Beelze speculated that the quantity and quality of Spirits might not be sufficient to achieve adamantium, so his current plan was to settle for ordinary steel.

With such sharp claws, his advantage in combat was obvious. Even against strong opponents, he could easily penetrate their defenses. Moreover, having his own weapon meant he wouldn't face issues like ammunition shortages.

The second modification plan involved Beelze's tail.

Due to his different body structure, Beelze could not walk completely upright like how he used to as a human. He could stand up but not straighten his body, causing him to slouch. For now, he had been using this arrow-like tail to keep his body in balance. Other than that, his tail was not very useful.

Not only was it unable to help Beelze in combat, but it was also a weak point of his body, being sensitive and fragile, bringing him a lot of pain once it was hurt.

Therefore, in order to eliminate this weakness, Beelze’s second modification plan was for his tail. He drew a long tail that extended from his spine. It had sections, from thick to sharp, beautifully streamlined. Beelze designed three bone knives that could open and close at the tip of his tail. When opened, it could grab objects; when closed, it could become a triangular blade that could pierce through a thick steel plate easily.

If done according to his vision, this long tail, once combined with his body, could even give his spine a protruding blade-shaped bone, making him look more domineering and savage.

He had no other choice. He was disheartened by this world where appearance was everything! It was the same even in this Devilkin World. Here, the value of looks was strong, scary, and savage. If your appearance did not possess any deterring force and could not invoke fear in others, then probably even ordinary monsters would dare to test you out…

Now that Beelze had become a Devilkin without any human form, he freed himself completely and let his imagination run wild.

Beelze was rather satisfied with the design of the tail. His definitions for the tail were Bone Material, Flexible, Regeneration, and Hard As Steel.

After he had sufficient Spirits in the future, Beelze also planned to transform the tail into adamantium so that it could become a true steel tail in the truest sense of the word.

Beelze's third modification plan was his latest idea for transforming his entire body, not just part of it. In his drawing, he sketched a syringe gun and a matching test tube.

The test tube was interesting: it had silver-white metal at both ends and two spiraling tubes with blue liquid in the middle. Sound familiar? Beelze called this liquid the Mercury Virus.

Thinking about transforming his whole body, Beelze considered two options: the Mercury Virus and the Super Soldier Serum. He remembered the Mercury Virus from movies but wasn't clear about the Super Soldier Serum. He could have made up something new, but Beelze thought creating it from scratch might need more spiritual energy than he had.

Like the revolver he created before, which he defined with basic details first, conjuring something from nothing required more detailed definitions and more spiritual energy.

Finally, Beelze decided on the Mercury Virus. It was meant to optimize his genes, improve his physical fitness, and fight off diseases, based on what he'd seen in movies and games. It seemed safer than other options like the G-Virus or Veronica Virus, which were more advanced and risky.

To make sure the Mercury Virus would work well with his Devilkin body, Beelze added two more details: Perfect Infusion and No Side Effects. This would prevent him from turning into a zombie.

If he could create the Mercury Virus with his spiritual energy, injecting it could make him stronger or even give him superpowers—a very efficient choice.

Beelze had three modification plans and materials to test, using a lower-rank Devilkin spirit and four monsters. They were all rated as 'complete low-quality' by the system, but had different sizes and values. Beelze started testing each material one by one.

When Beelze placed them on the interface, his hands and tail adjusted to fit his body. The Mercury Virus didn't need any adjustments and appeared right away. But after testing, Beelze found he only had enough spiritual energy to finish his tail completely.

This surprised Beelze because the tail had more defined parts. Why did the tail need fewer spiritual energy than the hands, which had fewer parts?

His hands were only 45% done, and the Mercury Virus was just 15% complete. To change his hands, Beelze would need five times more spiritual energy, and for the Mercury Virus, he would need twenty times more.

Beelze figured out that defining his hands as steel made them hard to adapt to his living body. But his tail, defined as bone, could use his own cells to change, which made it easier to finish.

The Mercury Virus needed a lot of spiritual energy because Beelze defined it as a strong transformation agent.

Knowing this, Beelze decided to either change his hands' definition or work on his tail first. He put the tail on his body and saved his progress. A strange feeling of power spread through him, replacing the discomfort he'd felt earlier.

Chapter 39: The Bid The auctioneer’s voice rang out confidently. “Ladies and gentlemen, there seemed to have been a small earthquake, but everything is perfectly fine. Now, back to the auction! The next bid for the 1907 Heidsieck is currently at $707,000. Do I hear any other bids?” The room fell silent, a brief pause hanging in the air as if everyone was waiting for someone else to make the next move. “Really, no more bids?” The auctioneer raised his gavel, smiling at the impending sale. Beelze glanced around, his eyes shifting from Lisa to the wealthy patrons seated around the auction house. He leaned slightly toward Lisa, a sly smile forming. “My luck has been... interesting lately,” he said casually. “But I suppose there’s no harm in selling it to you.” Lisa’s face lit up, her expression almost childlike in its delight. “Really? You’ll sell it to me?” As she spoke, Beelze’s system messages flared up. [The strength of the other party's artifact is increa

People started to scream in fear. The gold axe silver axe and the rope were screaming in pain as well. Beelze also felt as if he was getting a stomach ache again. Beelze had to bite down on his lips because of the pain. ‘Tsk, I guess being around this woman really was a gamble!’ Had he looked down on this future Ruler of Destitution too much? He couldn’t let this continue. He needed to leave as this would be dangerous. However, shocking messages bombarded him the moment Beelze was about to leave. Chapter 37: Right Hand 2 Beelze's expression darkened into a frown, a clear indication of his growing concern. It seemed that Depay had every intention of participating in the upcoming auction, despite the looming issues surrounding the company. The motive behind Depay's decision to stay was becoming increasingly apparent to Beelze – it had to be the artifacts. The realization struck Beelze like a bolt of lightning. Those cunning individuals must have been aware of the valuable artifacts up for auction. In Beelze's mind, the situation began to unravel further. It was evident that monopolizing the artifacts during the initial stages was crucial for these individuals. The thought of potentially clashing with Depay over the artifacts sent a shiver down Beelze's spine. He couldn't help but worry, knowing full well the financial might his opponent wielded. While Beelze had amassed a considerable sum through his ventures in the casinos, it paled in comparison to the vast resources at th

Someone’s fainted here! Call 911!” “Ack! Someone scratched my car!” “Kyaaaa! My dress ripped!” Beelze was probably the only one who could not frown in such a situation. Everybody else was suffering drastically from being around the Ruler of Destitution’s area of influence. That was why Beelze quickly looked toward Depay. He was curious if Depay would also be impacted by the Ruler of Destitution. The Depay of old would immediately try to leave this place or defend somehow, however... ‘There’s no way he knows about the Ruler of Destitution yet.’ And lo and behold. “W,what is going on?! T, the company stock......!” Beelze’s suspicions had been correct. Biho was the first to scream. A secretary whispered something in Biho’s ear before he urgently checked something on his phone a

Chapter 35: Right Hand. Biho had once been Depay’s right-hand man, a position of prestige and authority—until Beelze joined the company. Beelze’s meteoric rise to captain of the Crypt raiding team had left Biho in the shadows, constantly compared and inevitably outshone. His frustration had grown into animosity, a simmering hatred that only deepened with every failed attempt to surpass Beelze. Now, years later, that familiar contempt was written all over Biho’s face as he noticed Beelze staring at him. “What’s your problem?” Biho sneered. “Move it, unless you want to block the way all night.” Beelze smirked, recognizing the same petty arrogance from the past. He could already tell what had fueled Biho’s disdain this time—the number on the ticket Beelze held in his hand. Bronze. The auction house operated with a strict hierarchy, separating participants into tiers. Bronze tickets were for the common crowd—average bidders who wouldn’t make waves. Gold tickets, like

My stomach!” That was not the end. “U, uuuuugh!” “J, Joon Tae!” Weird things started to happen, with one of the idiots approaching the Ruler of Destitution suddenly started to vomit and seize. “Kyaaaa! Call 911!” “What is suddenly going on?!” People around them screamed and quickly started to call 911. “Joon Tae, what happened to you, Joon Tae!” Beelze could only stand there while sweating bullets. There were many ways to lead someone to destitution. One of the
