Chapter 11
Boyd's hand remained pressed against his reddened cheek, his mind struggling to catch up with what had just happened. The sting of the slap still stung, but the confusion in his eyes was slowly turning into fear. “Miss Sterling, I was only—” “I know exactly what you were doing.” Victoria glared at Boyd. “How dare you sully the Nine Dragons name with such behaviour?” "But I was just trying to—" “Keep your mouth shut.” Victoria said icily, her eyes blazing with fury. If Mr. Rutherford hadn’t told her to prioritise Sebastian and keep things quiet, she would have taught him a very painful lesson. Boyd flinched in fear, and his legs buckled. He had to grab the reception desk to stay upright. “I’ll deal with you later.” She declared coldly, then led Sebastian respectfully away from the stunned crowd, paying no attention to their whispers and hushed conversations. They arrived at a gold-plated elevator at the far end of the lobby. Victoria pressed a hidden panel beneath the call butt

There was a brief pause on the other end. “Sir, all at once? Didn’t our timeline have another month? If we go ahead and do this, I’m afraid—” “Shut up and do what I asked you to do! I don’t pay you to argue with me!” Cameron barked angrily, his grip on his phone tightening. “I want them cut off completely. Their contracts, their supply lines, their investors—everything!” “I want to see how long Amelia Lockwood can stand on her own.” Cameron sneered. “…Understood.” Cameron lowered his phone slowly, his gaze drifting back to the towering building behind him. “Let’s see how long you can keep that pride of yours when your kingdom starts falling apart,” he muttered, his voice cold and mocking. His fingers moved again, dialling another number—this time, one that few people in Cloud City would ever dare to call. The line rang twice before it was picked up, and a rough, low voice sounded from the other end. “What is it?” Cameron’s expression hardened, but he dared not act rude becau
Chapter 13
Meanwhile, in the central district, Sebastian stepped out of the Nine Dragons Pavilion with a calm expression. The cold morning air brushed against his face as he adjusted his coat slightly and walked leisurely. Although the penthouse suite was comfortable, he had no intention of idling around. His injury had not fully healed, and if he left it unattended, it would only slow him down further. He needed some rare herbs to treat them. Sebastian walked through several streets, his sharp eyes scanning the surroundings as he searched for a suitable pharmacy or herb shop. However, after checking multiple places, he found nothing that met his standards. Most of them either lacked the herbs he needed or carried poor-quality substitutes. Time passed, and before he knew it, he had spent three hours on his search. ‘Do they really not have a top pharmacy around?’ Sebastian muttered exasperatedly. Just as he was about to give up, he met a passerby who casually mentioned one last place not too
Chapter 14
The words hung heavily in the air, and for a brief moment, the entire pharmacy went silent. They both stared at Sebastian with shock, then Gareth snapped. “What nonsense!” Gareth snarled, his face flushing red with anger. “Do you have any idea what you’re saying?!” His voice rose sharply, breaking the tense silence as he glared at Sebastian with unbridled hostility “Who do you think you are? How dare you interrupt us and spout such baseless claims?” “My claims are not baseless.” Sebastian replied firmly, but his response only made Gareth angrier. “You ignorant fool!” he barked angrily. “Do you even understand the least thing about medicine?” Evelyn remained silent, but her expression had grown colder. Her sharp eyes rested on Sebastian, studying him carefully. There was no arrogance or attempt to show off in his attitude, only certainty. “On what basis are you making that claim?” Evelyn finally asked, her voice calm but laced with displeasure. Sebastian looked at Evelyn and sa

Outside, Sebastian walked calmly along the street, the small package of herbs in his hand. He had already pushed the encounter in the pharmacy to the back of his mind. Right now, the only thing that mattered was returning and refining the herbs. His injury had lingered for too long. If he left them unattended, it would slow down his plans. He walked calmly and turned into a quieter street, one that led directly back to the Nine Dragons Pavilion. It was almost empty as it was still quite early in the morning, but Sebastian enjoyed the silence. At that moment, a black van suddenly screeched to a halt in front of him, blocking the street. Before the van had even fully stopped, the doors were thrown wide open, and different vicious-looking men jumped out of the vehicle one after the other. In less than ten seconds, Sebastian was surrounded. Sebastian frowned and looked around. With a single glance, he could count at least thirty of them. They had spread out in a loose circle, making s

Quide had barely finished talking when Sebastian’s expression changed. "The Rose Corporation is being attacked?" Quide's smile widened, mistaking the question for concern. "That's right. Your precious fiancée is watching her company burn as we speak. And by the time we're done with you—" Sebastian stopped paying attention to Quide the moment he heard that Amelia’s company was being attacked. A faint crease appeared between his brows, and the indifferent calm in his eyes turned extremely cold. He didn’t love Amelia, but she was still his fiancée. She was the woman his father had chosen for him, so she was under his protection, whether she knew it or not. “Boys, finish him!” Quide ordered coldly as he cracked his neck, the scar on his face twisting. “Break his legs slowly. I want to hear him scream.” The thirty men leaped forward at once. They moved with practiced coordination, surrounding him from every direction. The first man swung a steel pipe at Sebastian’s head in a wild,

Thirty men. Thirty armed men had been crushed thoroughly in less than a minute. They couldn’t even put up the slightest resistance, and the man responsible for all of it stood calmly in the middle of the alley with a cold expression on his face. Sebastian slowly lifted his gaze and stared at Quide, and that single glance nearly made Quide, the head of a notorious gang, pee his pants. As Sebastian took a step forward, Quide staggered back, only to find his back still against the wall. His earlier arrogance had completely vanished, and the only emotion he was feeling was fear and regret. “H-how…” Quide’s voice shook violently, as though he was being suffocated. “What the hell are you…?” Sebastian didn’t answer. He simply walked toward him. Each footstep he took sounded slow and steady against the frozen ground, but to Quide, it felt like the approach of death itself. “D-don’t come any closer!” Quide shouted instinctively as he pulled out a Glock 19 with trembling hands. “I’ll sho

“Mr. Helios.” Lawson greeted as he bowed deeply. The entire alley instantly fell silent. Quide’s expression froze, the gang members were dumbfounded, and even the officers behind Lawson looked shocked. “What the hell…?” someone muttered. “That’s… that’s the Chief…” “Why is he…?” Their minds couldn’t process what they were seeing. “T-this… this isn’t right…” Quide’s lips trembled, and his mind went blank from disbelief. Sebastian released Quide casually, causing the man to collapse onto the ground miserably. “Do you know me?” Sebastian asked calmly, his dark gaze pinning Lawson to the spot. Cold sweat instantly formed on Lawson’s forehead, and his knees suddenly felt like mush. ‘Did he know him?’ ‘Of course he did!’ The previous night, Isaac Rutherford himself had personally contacted him and sent Sebastian’s file over, or rather, a portion of it. Even with Isaac’s authority, much of Sebastian’s background still remained sealed under the highest level of clearance. However

Meanwhile, inside the imposing headquarters of the Nine Dragons Group, Victoria Sterling sat calmly inside her luxurious office while reviewing several financial documents on her desk. Her expression remained cold and stoic as multiple executives stood respectfully before her while giving their reports. As the vice president of the Nine Dragons Group, countless projects passed through her desk daily, and a single sentence from her could determine the rise or fall of countless companies in Cloud City. A young executive standing before her adjusted his glasses nervously before continuing his report. “Vice President Sterling, the Azure Dragon Casino generated approximately $730 million in net revenue during the last quarter alone, and the overseas VIP tables exceeded our expectations by thirty percent." “Our newly launched private membership system also brought in more than two thousand high-net-worth clients.” The young man reported. Even as he spoke, there was still faint disb

The atmosphere inside Rose Corporation had never been this grim before. Even though it was just mid-morning, the entire headquarters felt like a dark cloud had settled over them. The employees who usually greeted each other with smiles on their faces now hurried through the hallways with tense expressions, and the sound of phones ringing throughout the office floors was incessant. It wasn’t a pleasant atmosphere, and despite their attempts to act like everything was normal, everyone could feel that something was wrong. Inside the CEO’s office, Amelia Lockwood sat behind her desk with a pale expression, her beautiful face visibly exhausted. A stock chart was displayed on the large monitor behind her. The once-stable line had been falling steadily since the market opened, and every downward movement felt like someone was stabbing a knife into her heart. Her phone was pressed tightly against her ear as she listened to the voice on the other end of the phone. “Miss Lockwood, I’
