At his mercy
Cars, not two, not three. If the two horsemen in front of the abandoned warehouse were to count it. Five. “Just who the hell is this man?” the leader questioned in a low voice. In front of those five cars were a lot of men dressed in black suits and white shirts, an earpiece was connected to their ears, and they all had different kinds of guns aimed at the leader of the horsemen and his comrade. Someone stepped forward among the security personnel, a Glock in his hand as he walked, he was the only one who had his gun aimed at the ground. “We will have the young man and then escort you to meet our boss,” he said, with a slight tilt of his head in another direction. “Give you our only means of escape from this place?” The leader asked, pulling John up to his feet and closer to himself. The leader of the security personnel, Dre, stretched his free hand forward. “I think you are mistaken. If you really think that the young man you are holding is your means of escape, then I have no
Breaking thr brothers
“Why are you all after me?” Ethan began with his first question. “For the love of the game,” the leader of the horsemen answered immediately. Ethan kept his gaze on the leader and let out a scoff. After an intense gaze, he nodded his head twice. "I'm coming after my life just for the love of the game, huh?” Two security personnel came from behind and grabbed the horseman with the bandana, one held out his right hand, while the other pressed him to the floor with his knee on his back and face buried into the floor. ePanic surged through the horseman, Jay, as he realized what was about to happen. He struggled to pull himself off, about to yell out a plea, but before he could let out a single word, a guttural pain tore through him as his fingers snapped, pulling out a scream from deep in his throat. “Stop!” the leader cried out, turning to free his brother from the grasp of the men holding him down, but two strong hands grabbed his shoulder, keeping him to his knees. “It is simple.
Unmasking the client
There was no atom of doubt in Ethan’s eyes at all, or in his tone, on sensing this, Scorpion's muscles tensed. “Do you think I have all day to waste here?” Ethan asked after a whole minute of silence. Just as he made an attempt to rise to his feet, Scorpion hastily chipped in the answer, “Alexander Cole. The Cole family’s eldest son was the one that hired my hand, that’s the only information that I can share,” looking up at Ethan, his eyes were filled with desperation. He couldn’t bear the guilt of walking out of that building all alone and without the two people that he had built the Horsemen legacy with. Ethan waved his index finger, before any of the horsemen could react, a loud guttural scream tore through the room. Whipping his head to the last horseman, Scorpion frowned on seeing his brother, whom he had promised to protect, reeling in pain. He snapped his head back to Ethan, a questioning expression on his face. “I will ask the question one more time. Who hired you to co
The catalyst
“Give me the updates on evverything that have been going on since I decided to focus on Nexus Air,” Ethan said as he walked towards the living room of his villa. Ava, who had been seated there turned to look at him, ‘Sir, I don’t think I can fill you in completeley, for they are really much.” “Then forward them to my email,” he ordered her, settling gently on the couch. “Sure sir, I will do that immediately I levae here,” she answered with a nod of her head. She couldn’t help studying Ethan as he sat with his legs spread and a neutral expression sprread across his face, his eyes held the same as his face shows. The news of what had been donw to the three horsemen have been a talk of the underworld, but none of them knows who exactly dealt with them that way, there was only rumors of who the mysterious man was. Of course, Ava didn’t need to think too much to know who it was that had dealt with them. The only contract and person that they had to deal with in that moment was Etha
Into the lion's den
Ethan occupied the chair in his study with a stoic expression on his face as he went through the documents on his laptop. Ava had sent it an hour or so after she stepped out of the living room. That was one thing that he liked about Ava, her ability to get a task accomplished as fast as possible. Now, the only thing that he waits for is the information concerning the Hale family, which he is sure will appear in no time. Going through the information on Nexus Air, he pulled himself out of his thoughts and focused on what was in front of him and needed his attention as soon as possible. He had forgotten for a bit about what was to happen on Monday. Crazy Jim had informed him about the goods that would appear on Monday and the plans of the higher-ups in his own company. Ethan let out a soft chuckle and shook his head. “Such a funny tale,” he muttered aloud to no one but himself. Reaching forward, he picked up his phone and dialled Ava’s number. Ava picked up the call instantly lik
The new recruit
Ethan stood in front of the cars in his garage, quite curious about which to ride, he finally settled on his car with the old paint and beat-up-looking body. With a nod, he walked back into the building and picked up the key, then returned to the garage, where he got into the car. The goal was not to draw any attention to himself, even if he were to draw any attention to himself, it doesn’t have to be loud or anything apart from the fact that he is a newbie. He looked at the rearview mirror and pulled down the mask on his face. He was completely dressed in the kit that Ava had provided to him this morning. He had expected her to send someone with it, instead, she brought it herself. It felt like she wanted to discuss something, but for some reason she couldn’t let it out. Ethan was curious as he ignited the engine of the car, then drove onto the asphalt. Since when was the mighty, courageous, and extremely bold Ava shy to mention something? He shook the thought from his head. Th
The big guy
“I am Jax Addams. I am among the security staff at the headquarters. Sincerely, I only received a call from Miss. Ava last night that I am to join the escort vehicles from now on and should no longer be joining the security at headquarters again till further notice,” Ethann said to Gideon, placing both of his hands behind his back. “This is the first time that headquarters would be moving security from there to other places,” Gideon said, tilting his head slightly to the side as he reached into his back pocket to pull out a pack of cigarettes. He tapped on the bottom of the pack a couple of times until one popped up through a hole at the top of the pack. He pulled it out completely and placed it between his lips, then he turned the pack to Ethan. Ethan shook his head to reject the offer, “I think you are wrong, though, because I have had a couple of people I call brothers moved from there for no reason to other units or branches.” “Damn, I had no idea that such things do happen,”
The break before the storm
The security guys set upon the road, all of them with their masks on their faces. Sam and Doe were the ones driving the truck, while the remaining people were in another car behind, a black Cadillac escort vehicle. Ethan was in the back passenger seat with The Big Guy and Ross, while Mike was driving the car with Gideon occupying the front passenger seat. Nothing eventful happened throughout the first 30 minutes of the drive, the only thing that happened, which didn't really mean much, was that the escort vehicle drove forward. It wasn't like he was expecting anything that really matters to happen, though. Until Gideon finally spoke. All through the interactions and laughter that had been going on among the other men in the vehicle, he didn't interfere with them or join them. “Pull over.”Ethan kept his cool and remained as he should have been, but deep down he couldn't help but wonder why Gideon had asked Mike to pull over. The latter did so without hesitation. He pulled over
The rookie who saw too much
Ethan’s instincts were screaming something else entirely. It destroyed the confusion that had taken root in his mind. ‘Gay? That’s the best excuse that they can come up with?’ Ethan pushed the chair he was seated on backwards. “Give me a minute, I will be back, I have something to pick up, I think I forgot it in the vehicle.” Before he could rise to his feet, Gideon reached forward and grabbed his hand, “Hold on, rookie. Miss. Ava said, " I should show you the ropes. This lunch break is my only opportunity to teach you about the rules. Whatever it is that you want, Sam can pick it up for you.” Ethan’s mask had been taken off to eat, so Gideon could see the slow change of Ethan’s facial expression. “I don’t believe that, you had other times to tell me about these rules while on the drive down here, and I am pretty sure that you can tell me when we resume the drive,” Ethan replied, trying to pull his hand away from Gideon’s grip, but the latter tightened it. “I didn’t have time to
proof of power
“Get off your high horse boy, what the fuck did you mean by ‘your goods’? Do you know what it means if one of these goods isn’t properly packaged when we deliver it?” Ross questioned angrily, trying to find a way to arrange the crate into its proper way. But there was no way they will return it to the way it once was. “That’s a very huge contrast to the good boy slash personality that I was thinking you will have based on my first impression of you,” Ethan said, facing Ross with the same chilling cold look. Ross turned to face him, deep lines of fury had been etched on his forehead, his eyes were blazing with fury, all common sense or reasoning had been thrown out of the window, he couldn’t see what was right in front of him, what exactly it was that had rendered his partner-in-crime silent. “What the hell are you spewing?” Ross questioned, rising to his feet. The fact that Ethan or rather Jox like he knew Ethan to be was not admitting that he had done something wrong and apologiz
