THREE PIECES OF PLASTIC

I stood up from the tiny mattress, yawned out loud and hurried out of the chapel.

The sky was deserted of stars and moon, and the whole world seemed to be plunged into total darkness.

Since is the middle of the night, everywhere was deserted.

The light from the bulbs that were fixed on the wall of the chapel illuminated my way as I walked towards the end of our grassland, and then turned my shadow into something more grotesque.

Being wary of snakes, my eyes darted around, and my two ears were alert to every sound around me.

I could hear the crickets chirping, hear the frogs calling out to their mates, and the birds as they sing to their loved ones.

Sad as it may seem, everyone was happy except me!

To keep my fear away, I whistle the song that I love most in my previous life, increased my speed, and I can hear the maddening sound of my heartbeat as I inhale and exhale.

'Woof... Woof!'
