Chapter 6

Euphemia's perspective.

Everyone is on their feet, waiting for the fiends to come. We were locked in the huge dome, a place where will the examination takes its set. The atmosphere here is way more suffocating than breathing a miasma. The girls who are part of this examination are already crying because no one wants to team up with them. While the group made by most men were preparing for the worst.

There are five sections of seniors who are taking examinations today. That includes our section, in fact, my classmates are here but no one really went to team up with me. It's not like I'm expecting one, I'm actually waiting for five people at least. But those stupid people think I'll be a hindrance.

"Don't worry. You actually got one." I told myself that, lurking a stare at this child who was looking at the others. His body is shaking, "So this is what you call 'Prodigy'? He looks like someone who'll pee here and now."

I can't believe I have to babysit.

I get back to observing people. Most of them are people I don't know, however, a familiar one came across my sight. That dusky, messy hair, the posture, and the height. Senior, he is also senior. I never thought I would see him again, In the same death examination.

Should I approach him, then what am I supposed to say?

"Hey...uh! Do you want to join my ...team?" I'm just trying to practice the sentence I'm about to say, inviting him to join us will be a great asset to me but before I can possibly ask that properly. I heard a response from someone. "No."

Wait, this guy!

He was just a few miles away before. How did he—I, I was pointing to the spot where he was but he is already gone, because he is in front of you, idiot.

"I wasn't asking you."

I bolted straightly while my eyes were straightly gazing at his. He tilted his head a little, how bold of him to think I need him for my team. "I see." he somewhat glanced at the back, "Who is that little guy, I didn't know you have a little brother."

Why would you even know, we're not friends? "He is not my little brother." I stabbed a glare, right exactly when I said that. "Oh. Must be your son."

I was about to storm him when a loud banging commenced without any warning, bang, bang! It wasn't a sound from a gun; however, it sounded like something nearly pulled my eardrums away.

Everyone's attention had been caught; a descending huge figure on the screen is the only sound we can hear from where we were. No one dared to make sounds; thus, some girls covered their mouths to cease their whining.

"Hmph. A speech before killing." A man uttered beside me.

The screen switches on, and a figure of a human being appeared. The president of this school, "Look. The motherfucking sadist appeared. Those people up ahead are really looking forward to our death. Raise a soldier? That's all bullshit." continuously ranting, you're lucky I'm the only one who can hear you.

I shifted my sight back to the screen.

"Students of Chasseurs, I welcome you and bid everyone good luck for this final examination. I hope everyone is fully prepared, each of you must be prepared and eager to start. Ahaha!"

Why the fuck is he laughing like a jerk.

"But before we start, I would like to clear a few things. We have set a few rules for this examination. Of course, you have to follow rules. These are the rules;

First, don't attack your fellow friends and classmates. Each of you will be against Schattens, not your friends. We are hoping for great success for each of you, with zero casualties.

(That motherfucking shum, saying opposite things of what he was exactly hoping for.)

Secondly, don't push yourself to the limit. We all know that pushing yourself to the limit will end up killing you. Form a team that will benefit each of you.

(So, he is basically saying that go to the team where it has a large percentage of surviving. Ignore the weak, and go to the stronger ones.)

And lastly, each of you must kill a large number of Schatten. Your grades will be based on how many fiends you kill in total. Think about the cards you'll get after this, each of you will have the potential to be a great Soldier, some will follow their dream path and do that, be on top!

I grasped my fist, curling into the eagerness of killing the president first and foremost. If I could just run ahead in that room, I would just massacre everyone myself.

I can feel the intense aura leaking out to each person in this room. The staggering glare was all to be seen in each human, who is breathing in the same room as me. I can't blame them though. Let's not act as a holy Satan here.

I stepped in front of the crowds.

"Bitch, just start already! I'm tired of breathing in the toxicity of this school. Saying nonsense won't help us survive!"

Everyone's eyes shifted to me, by means of everyone, even those people in the room. That white ghost was smiling. I can see it even though I'm in this far.

"Ahaha! I like your eagerness, girl. I must look forward to your success." That is an insult to my ears, but this is the last thing I will hear from him. After all, I'm going out of this stupid place.

I slightly glance at the people from the back, they are all glaring, and the anger was visible, I think I can even say what they were thinking. "Let's get done this quickly." and so, that is what is going to happen.

The victory will be ours.

"Ahaha! Now then, Let the examination begin!"

And without further ado, the examination began.
