CHAPTER SEVENTY-SEVEN

“Suzen, what are you doing here?” I asked, as Maria’s sister stood at the door. I gestured and she walked to me. All of my friends left. Leaving me and her to be alone.

She looked sad. Depressed even. Her face looked down, like she just received news of her parents’ death. We walked over and sat on the couch.

“What happened? Why do you look like this?” I asked her.

“Is my sister here?” She asked as she looked from one place to the other.

“No, she isn’t. I can give her a call if you need to talk to her,” I took my phone, but she gestured for me not to.

“I talked to her, and she wasn’t as helpful. So don’t bother,” she spoke.

I studied her. What the hell would she be doing here at this time of the day? And she talked to her sister, but Maria wasn’t as helpful. What did she ask for? For Maria to refuse, it was something I wouldn’t accept. And besides, I don’t like this family. I was feeling bad about treating father and grandmother like that yesterday.
